Computer went down last week - 4th time in as many months. Apple said "we've replaced these parts several times. We're just going to give you a new computer. That ok?"

Hell yes it's ok! I paid $2800 retail for this mofo and I just got a brand new one for free. Woo ha!!!!!

By request. wink

I'm playing around with using full chords over root notes instead of suspensions...lmk how you think it sounds...so instead of playing a Dsus I'm playing G/D. Instead of playing Dsus2 I'm playing C/D. I think it sounds pretty nifty...also since I'm lacking a B3 organ this makes up for some of the harmonies in that part (at least from the John Prine version).

Note: my suggestion above isn't the struing pattern as written. Instead it's a good substitute that assumes you're playing the tune by yourself and don't have bells & piano behind you. wink

First song is "1 2 3 and 4 and"

Alternate pick the ands. Ditch the fast part till you have the above nailed.

Second one movie wouldn't load.

My mind set? piss poor.
my patience? worn thin!
I'll not leave for a week
sans guitar again.

I guess I'm addicted
to that beat up ol' axe.
Time to get my ass home
and lay down some tracks.

My 6 string, a pint,
and my songbook from Chordie.
Wait - what is that? A damned F chord?
Good Lordy!

I guess I'll transpose it
or sub out the F...
(Or hope that my listeners
are drunk and are deaf.)

I should be working
on playing that barre,
but sadly I'm traveling
without my guitar.

I much prefer children of famous people to do their own thing and forge their own way.  Hank Williams III, Justin Townes Earl,  Norah Jones, and even Julian Lennon have all done their own thing rather than trying to perpetuate what their parents did. I think that's good.

Don't forget Jakob Dylan & Damian Marley.

Several ideas here:
1. Play an A major but mute the e and a string and add a high F# on the high e string (2nd fret.)

2. Play it in dm7 shape a major third up the neck:

3. As #2 above but mute the 6th fret G string:

4. Play a power chord.

5. Capo on the 2nd fret and instead of playing F#m, E and A, play these shapes: Em, D, G.

6. As #5 above but ditch the capo and just move the song down a whole step.

7. Play it as a triad:

8. Capo on the 4th fret and play these shapes: Dm, C, F.

edited to add more options.

Amy's correct. These guys just look like they are trying to farm data. Easy solution if you want to try their service: register a free hotmail or gmail account. Set it to forward to your "real" email account and then give them the new one. If you start to get nailed just turn off forwarding. wink

To their credit, they have a much better privacy policy for subscribers than most online marketers do.  It appears that they do all the e-mailing themselves, which is fantastic for us...that is unless they plan to violate CAN-SPAM.

FWIW the business is owned by a musician, or so it appears. Here's his Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/bradenrawlingsmusic
