| So I will. I think it sounds better when you play E instead of Em, and |
| an A chord instead of Am. Play the A chord like this: |
E---|---|---|-X-|-- A---|---|---|-X-|-- D---|-X-|---|---|-- G---|-X-|---|---|-- B---|---|---|---|-- E---|---|---|---|--
| Use your first finger on the G and D string. Pluck the cords. Listen to |
| the song. If you play it like this, you can make the little 4-note riff |
| (rather fast) at the end of each line with your left hand (1st finger), |
| by pulling off the G and D strings. If I'm not clear, e-mail me. |
| Oh, another thing. In the chorus, use D and Dsus4: |
| D Dsus4 D(let ring shortly) |

Case of You - Joni Mitchell -------------------------------
From the album 'Blue'
tabbed by Howard Wright spxhaw@uk.ac.cf.thor
NOTE : -------
The original has one guitar part and a part for another instrument, (dulcimer ? ) which uses an open tuning of some kind, and plays the introduction bit. I've worked out a way of playing this on guitar using an alternative tuning, and I've also written out chord shapes which work well for standard tuning. (All chord shapes given at the end). Please note - I've written the chord names for normal tuning above the TAB for alternative-tuning. The chord names do not neccessarily correspond to what the TAB plays. Words are written under the corresponding TAB - I've tried to put the chord changes in the right place with respect to the words, but it might not be 100% accurate.
The dulcimer part using alternative tuning is basically the same for each verse - but I only tabbed it once for the first verse.
For the dobro/dulcimer part use EADAAD tuning, i.e tune B down to A and G up to A.
- slide h - hammer on p - pull off

Elsewhere by Sarah McLachlan from the album Fumbling Towards Ecstacy Transcribed by John Argentiero (jfafreak@wam.umd.edu)
The bulk of this song is done on piano, but I will provide chords that sound decent on guitar. The spacing of the chords may seem odd, but I tried my best to match them up with the vocals. The album is the best reference for when to play what.
This is some tab for the intro, notes in brackets are supposed to be done on piano.
e--2-------------|-------|----------|----------|-------|-----| B-----3----------|-------|-[3]------|------3---|-1--0--|--0--| G----------------|-------|------[0]-|----------|-------|-----| D----------------|-------|----------|-[4]-[0]--|-------|--2--| A----------------|-------|----------|----------|[3][2]-|-----| E--------0-------|-(0)---|(0)-------|(0)-------|-------|-----| hold that e for about 2 bars 1st verse...
Incidentally, heres TAB for the chords, just for clarity's sake...

The song fades out repeating that last line.
Sometime around the last chorus, the guitar stops playing chords and plays this:
e-----|-----|-------|---------|--------|----------|--------|-2b1/2-2--| B-X-X-|-X-X-|-X-3-X-|-X-----X-|-X------|-X------X-|----X-X-|----------| G-X-X-|-X-X-|-X---X-|-X-----X-|-X-5--X-|-X------X-|----X-X-|----------| D-X-X-|-X-X-|-X---X-|-X-5h7-X-|-X------|-X--5h7-X-|--7-X-X-|----------| A-----|-----|-------|---------|--------|----------|--------|----------| E-----|-----|-------|---------|--------|----------|--------|----------|
This is played twice and then the guitar goes into the outro. Listen to the album closely for the timing of this part, its kinda buried in the piano parts. When playing this song alone on acoustic guitar, just ignore this part and play the straight chords listed above. Hope thiss is all you need to play this rather spiffy song. Enjoy, and email me with amy comments! John jfafreak@wam.umd.edu

I have been trying to work out some songs and I posted a few a while ago, If you or anyone else out there could help me work some stuff out that would be cool (the chords to the chorus of Rain would be cool. I know the intro) Failing that, just tell me any favourites and if I know them I'll send them to you Heres one for today off 'FREE'. This is what I posted a while ago, I think I would like to add to it a little but that will have to wait
LITTLE CONVERSATIONS by Concrete Blonde -------------------- off the album FREE transcribed by ericb@ecr.mu.oz.au
Heres a song I think sounds pretty good on an accoustic I show in tab how to play the C-G-Am pattern in the verses Use your ring finger to do the C and G bass notes in the Am part I used to think he only was playing C bass notes but I gave it another listen to last night and I think he throws the odd G-bass note in I'm not too sure about the fills but theyre close enough to keep me happy.

The little conversations on me are very rough They leave me all in pieces You know theres never time enough Its like a book with missing pages A story incomplete Its like a painting left unfinished It feels like not enough to eat - starving..

Artist: Lisa Marie Presley Song: Road Between
I am almost 100% sure this is correct:
Verses and Bridge: Em, G, C
Chorus: D, G, C
Intro: Em, G, C
Em G C Out on the road between nowhere and hell I caught a glimpse of my reflection in you But they can't believe I still want you around
Hung on the line between addiction and this I can't believe you said I hurt you again But I can't afford to let you get away And I cannot take the darkness when you stay
D G C You're all I see And it's definitely my fault You're all I see But don't come near me at all
Em G C How many roads between your world and mine How many broken doors and how many fights I changed my furniture to make you go away I'm still overwhelmed at how much space you take
You're all I see And it's definitely my fault You're all I see But don't come near me at all
Em, G, C
Em, G, C And I can't have you right now And I can't get it right now And I can't have you right now And I can't get it right now
You're all I see And it's definitely my fault You're all I see But don't come near me at all This is definitely my fault
Hung on the line between addiction and this I can't believe you said I hurt you again

Why by: Annie Lennox
Intro: C B/C A7 Verse: C B/C A7 F
How many times do I have to try and tell you, that I'm sorry for the things I've done? But when I start to try and tell you, That's when you have to tell me Hey, this kind of trouble's only just begun.
Bridge: D B/7 F#/D G (x2) F A7
I tell myself too many times , why don't you ever learn to keep your big mouth shut? That's why it hurts so bad, to hear the words that keep on falling from your mouth Falling from your mouth, falling from your mouth
Chorus: C B/7 A7 F
Tell me, why Why
I may be mad, I may be blind, I may be viciously unkind But I can still read what you're thinking And I've heard is said too many times that you'd be better off besides Why can't you see, this boat is sinking (this boat is sinking, this boat is sinking)
Let's go down to the water's edge, and we can cast away those doubts Some things are better left unsaid, but they still turn me inside out Turning inside out, turning inside out Tell me, why Tell me, why
This is the book I never read, These are the words I never said This is the path I'll never tread, These are the dreams I'll dream instead This is the joy that's seldom spread, These are the tears, the tears we shed This is the fear, this is the dread, These are the contents of my head And these are the years that we've spent, And this is what they represent And this is how I feel, Do you know how I feel? Cause I don't think you know how I feel, I don't think you know how I feel I don't think you know how I feel, you don't know how I feel
Written by: Annie Lennox

By request, You Can Sleep While I Drive...third in a series.
BTW, does anyone have the tab for Love & Rockets' Saudade, from the album Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven? I didn't notice a L&R directory at nevada, although I could have overlooked it.. Please post or mail it if you do, anyway...this song is a longtime favourite...

Back on 'oh...is it other arms you want to....', that first G might be a G7. I think the G sounds better, but be your own judges...
