| Basically Am and Em, picking the bass note then a strum for each: pick, Am, pick, Em, pick 6th string with pinky on third fret, repeat. I don't have this written in below. The chords listed are transitions from this pattern. |
| Intro: Repeat the above pattern a couple of times, then during verses, starting with the first Am listed below |
| Am | Em | |
| Ain't no sunshine when she's | gone |
| Am | Em | |
| Only darkness every | day |
| Dm | |
| Ain't no sunshine when she's | gone |
| F | |
| And this house just ain't no | home, |
| Am | |
| Anytime she goes away. |
| Wonder this time where she's gone |
| Wonder if she's gone to stay |
| Dm | |
| Ain't no sunshine when she's | gone |
| F | |
| And this house just ain't no | home, |
| Am | |
| Anytime she goes away. |
| Gm | Am | Gm | Am | |
| And I know I know I know | I | know I know I know I know I | I | know... To add fill, every fourth 'I know, pound on Gm and slide down two frets to A |
| m (same fingering) |
| Dm | |
| Baby you're leaving me far be | hind |
| Am | |
| There ain't sunshine when she's | gone Repeat 1st verse |
| This sounds great on a electric, not so great on an acoustic. For acoustic, I strum continuously between 'picks', and for the 'I know' business I pound the strings holding down only the second string of the first fret, then hammer down onto an Am. |

| Em | G | |

| No tomorrow, | no tomorrow, |

| The dreams in which I'm | dying are the best I've every | had. |

| I didn't know what to say |
| A | D | |
| But, eighteen yellow roses came | today. |
| I opened up the card to see what it said |
| I couldn't believe my eyes |
| When I had read |
| Though you belong to another I love you anyway |
| Yes, eighteen yellow roses came today. |
| B | D | |
| I never doubted your love for a | minute |
| I always thought that you would be true |
| But now this box and the flowers in it |

| But ask to meet the | boy that's done this | thing |
| And find out if he's got plans to buy you a ring |
| 'cause eighteen yellow roses |
| Will wilt and die one day ... |
| But... a father's love will never fade away |
| Will never fade away... |
| simple and easy just listen to this song and you'll figure the pattern for ending |

verse: B'-B'-3-2-B'-1-B'-3
chorus: B'-B'-3-1-B'-B'-3-2
So, for a C shord, the verse would be 5-4-3-2-5-1-4-3
For a G chord, the verse would be 6-4-3-2-6-1-4-3

| Seaso | ns s | pinning round a | gain, the | year | s keep r | olling by |
| Seems like I've been here before, I can't remember when |
| But I've got this funny feeling, that we'll all get together again |
| There's no straight lines make up my life, all the roads have bends |
| There's no clear cut beginning, and sometimes no clear end |
| I've found you a thousand times, I guess you've done the same |
| But then we lose each other, it's just like a children's game |
| But as I find you here again, the thought rolls through my mind |
| Our love is like a circle, let's go 'round one more time. |
| Anyway, I rushed this off, so they're probably inconsistencies or typos, |
| but I think all the chords are right. BTW, I play it at Capo III or V, |
| depending on who's singing with me. Capo V's probably best, but you're |
| more likely to be in Capo III from a previous song...... |

| 2. |
| How well I remember that terrible day |
| How our blood stained the sand and the water |
| And how in that hell they called Suvla Bay |
| We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter |
| Johhny Turk he was waiting, he'd primed himself well |
| He showered us with bullets, and rained us with shell, |
| And in five minutes flat, he'd blown us to hell |
| Nearly blew us right back to Australia |
| And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda |
| As we stopped to bury the slain |
| We buried ours and the Turks buried theirs, |
| Then we started all over again |
| 3. |
| They collected the crippled, the wounded and maimed |
| And they shipped us back home to Australia |
| The armless the legless, the blind and insane, |
| All the brave heroes of Suvla |
| And when our ship pulled in to Circular Quay, |
| I looked at the place where my legs used to be, |
| And thanked Christ there was nobody waiting for me - |
| To grieve, to mourn and to pity. |
| And the band played Waltzing Matilda, |
| As they carried us down the gangway, |
| But nobody cheered, they just stood and stared - |
| And they turned all their faces away. |
| 4. |
| And so now every April I sit on my porch, |
| And I watch the parade pass before me, |
| And I see my old comrades how proudly they march, |
| Reviving old dreams and past glories, |
| But the old men march slowly their bones stiff and sore, |
| Tired old men from a tired old war, |
| And the young people ask what are they marching for, |
| And I ask myself the same question. |
| But the band played Waltzing Matilda |
| And the old men still answer the call, |
| But year by year more old men disappear |
| Soon no one will march there at all. |

| 1. | Out in the West Texas | town of El Paso |
| A7 | D | |
| I fell in love with a Mexican | girl. |
| Em | |
| Nighttime would find me in | Rose's Cantina, |
| A7 | D | |
| Music would play and Felina would | whirl. |
| 2. Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina, |
| Wicked and evil while casting a spell. |
| My love was strong for this Mexican maiden, |
| I was in love, but in vain I could tell. |
| Chorus 1 |
| G | D | G | |
| One night a wild young | cowboy came | in, |
| D | D7 | |
| Wild as the | West Texas | wind... |
| D7 | |
| Dashing and daring, a drink he was sharing, |
| D7 | G | |
| With wicked Felina, the girl that I | love. |
| A7 | |
| So in | an - ger |
| 3. I challenged his right for the love of this maiden; |
| Down went his hand for the gun that he wore. |
| My challenge was answered, in less than a heartbeat |
| The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor. |
| 4. Just for a moment I stood there in silence, |
| Shocked by the foul evil deed I had done. |
| Many thoughts ran through my mind as I stood there; |
| I had but one chance and that was to run. |
| Chorus 2 |
| Out through the back door of Rose's I ran, |
| Out where the horses were tied... |
| I caught a good one; he looked like he could run, |
| Up on his back and away I did ride. |
| Just as fast as |
| 5. I could from the West Texas town of El Paso, |
| Out thru the badlands of New Mexico. |
| Back in El Paso my life would be worthless; |
| Everything's gone in life nothing is left. |
| 6. But it's been so long since I've seen the young maiden, |
| My love is stronger that my fear of death. |
| (Nothing's missing. It really is only half a verse.) |
| Chorus 3 |
| I saddled up and away I did go, |
| Riding alone in the dark... |
| Maybe tomorrow a bullet may find me, |
| Tonight nothing's worse than this pain in my heart. |
| And as last here |
| 7. I am on the hill overlooking El Paso, |
| I can see Rose's Cantina below. |
| My love is strong and it pushes me onward, |
| Down off the hill to Felina I go. |
| 8. Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys, |
| Off to my left ride a dozen or more. |
| Shouting and shooting; I can't let them catch me, |
| I've got to make it to Rose's back door. |
| Chorus 4 |
| Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel |
| A deep burning pain in my side... |
| It's getting harder to stay in the saddle. |
| I'm getting weary, unable to ride. |
| But my love for |
| 9. Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen; |
| Though I am weary, I can't stop to rest. |
| I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle, |
| I feel the bullet go deep in my chest. |
| 10.From out of nowhere, Felina has found me, |
| Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side. |
| Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for, |
| One little kiss and Felina goodbye. |
| I'd suggest playing A7 as (x02223). Alternate bass notes on beats one |
| and four throughout the verses. You might want to try Dadd9 (xx0230) |
| in place of the D in the first line of the chorus. |

That you ain't got no place left to go

Here's how I've worked out the chords to ELO's Evil Woman. The A minors should be as a barr chord on the fifth fret of your guitar, just so as you know! Personally, I'm stuck with the Fs and am unsure as to wether they are meant to be normally or with a G bass. I dont know, but when I do know, I'll change it!
Intro: C7 You made a fool of me, F7 G7 C(VIII) but these broken dreams have got to end
Pre-verse: C C/E C/G Am(V) G F/G G Am(V) G F/G G Am(V) G F/G G Am(V) G F/G G
Verses:
Am(V) G Dm7 G Hey woman, you got the blues Am(V) G Dm7 G 'Cause you ain't got no-one else to use Am(V) G Dm7 G There's an open road that leads no-where Am(V) G Dm7 G So just make some miles between here and there
There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in You took my body and played to win Ha ha woman, it's a cry in shame But you ain't got no-one else to blame
Chorus: Am(V) G Dm7 G Am(V) G Dm7 G E------vil Woman E------vil Woman
Am(V) G Dm7 G Am(V) G Dm7 G E------vil Woman E------vil Woman
That's it basically. Here's the rest of the verses for good measure. Have fun!
Rolled in from another town Hit some gold too hot to settle down But a fool and his money soon go separate ways And you found a fool lyin' in a daze Ha Ha woman what you gonna do You destroyed all the virtues that the Lord gave you It's so good that you're feelin' pain But you better get your face on board the very next train
[Chorus]
Evil woman how you done me wrong But now you're tryin' to wail a different song Ha Ha funny how you broke me up You made the wine now you drink the cup I came runnin' every time you cried Thought I saw love smilin' in your eyes Ha Ha woman very nice to know

| When it | comes to | lovin' me, he's | worst |
| Verse 2: |
| I still want you by my side |
| Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried |

| Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know |

------
| 1. She was like so many more from that time on |
| Their lives were all so empty, till they'd found there chosen one, |
| And their legs were often open, |
| But their minds were always closed, |
| And their hearts were held in fast suburban chains |
| 2. And the legal pads were yellow, |
| Hours long paypackets lean, |
| And the telex writers clattered |
| Where the gunships once had been; |
| But the carparks made me jumpy, |
| And I never stopped the dreams, |
| Or the growing need for speed and novacaine |
| 3. So I worked across the country from end to end |
| Tried to find a place to settle down, |
| Where my mixed up life could mend, |
| Held a job on an oil-rig, |
| Flying choppers when I could, |
| But the nightlife nearly drove me round the bend. |
| 4. And I've travelled round the world from year to year, |
| And each one found me aimless |
| One more year the worse for wear, |
| And I've been back to South East Asia, |
| And the answer sure ain't there, |
| But I'm drifting north, |
| To check things out again. |
| 5. Well the last plane of Sydney's almost gone. |
| And only seven flying hours, |
| And I'll be landing in Hong Kong. |
| And there ain't nothin' like the kisses |
| From a jaded Chinese princess, |
| I'm gonna hit some Hong Kong mattress all night long |
| 6. Well the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone. |
| You know the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone. |
| And it's really got me worried, |
| I'm going nowhere and I'm in a hurry. |
| You know the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone. |

| Chorus |
| Then take me dissapearin' through the smoke rings of my mind |
| Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves |
| The haunted, frightended trees out to the windy beach |
| Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow |
| Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand wavin' free |
| Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands |
| With all memory and fate drive deep beneath the waves |
| Let me forget about today until tomorrow |

| UTAH CAROL |
| Marty Robbins 'Gunfighter Ballads' |
| Capo 3 play C |
| C | F | C | |
| And now my friends you've asked me what | makes me sad and s | till |
| G7 | C | |
| And why my brow is darkened, like the clo | uds upon the h | ill |
| F | F | C | |
| Run in | your ponies closer, and I'll | tell to you my t | ale |
| G7 | C | |
| Of Utah Carol my partner, and his l | ast ride on the t | rail |
| F | C | |
| We rode the range together, and r | ode it side by s | ide |
| G7 | C | |
| I loved him like a brother, and I w | ept when Utah | died |
| F | C | F | C | |
| We were | roundin up one m | orning, when wo | rk was almost d | one |
| G7 | C | |
| When on his side the cattle, | started on a frightened r | un |
| F | C | |
| Underneath the saddle, that the | bosses daughter | rode |
| G7 | C | |
| Utah that very morning, had | placed a bright red r | obe |
| F | F | C | |
| So | the saddle might ride easy, for L | enore his little fr | iend |
| G7 | C | |
| And it was this red blanket, the b | rought him to his e | nd |
| F | C | |
| The blanket was now dragging, be | hind her on the g | round |
| G7 | C | |
| The frightened cattle saw it, and c | harged it with a bou | nd |
| F | F | C | |
| Lenore t | hen saw her danger, and | turned her ponies | face |
| G7 | C | |
| And leaning in the saddle, tied the b | lanket to its p | lace |
| F | C | |
| But in leaning lost her balance, fell in | front of that wild | tide |
| G7 | C | |
| Lay still Lenore I'm coming, were the | words that Utah | cried |
| F | F | C | |
| His fait | hful pony saw her, and | reached her with a | bound |
| G7 | C | |
| I thought he'd been successful, and r | aised her from the | ground |
| F | C | |
| But the weight upon the saddle, had n | ot been felt b | efore |
| G7 | C | |
| His back cinch snapped like thunder, and h | e fell by | Lenore |
| F | F | C | |
| Pi | cking up the blanket, he s | wung it o're his h | ead |
| G7 | |
| And started cross the prarie, lay st | ill Lenore he said |
| F | C | |
| When he got the stamped turned, and | saved Lenore his | friend |
| G7 | C | |
| Then turned to face the cattle, and | meet his fateful | end |
| F | C | F | C | |
| His | six gun flashed like li | ghtning, the | report was loud and c | lear |
| G7 | C | |
| As the cattle rushed and killed him, he d | ropped the leading s | teer |
| F | C | |
| On his funeral morning, I | heard the preacher | say |
| G7 | C | |
| I hope we'll all meet Utah, at the | roundup far a | way |
| F | C | F | C | |
| Then they | wrapped him in a | blanket, that s | aved his little f | riend |
| G7 | C | |
| And it was this red blanket, that | brought him to his | end |

| It was the hottest day in | August and we were | heading for the | sea |

| For a second my mind started | drifting, |

| G | D | A | Em | |
| You put your | arms around | me, |
| G | |
| You put your | arms around |
| What's spraying on the kitchen sink |
| What's this I have time to think |
| I see the tip of my index finger |
| My mind is slowly creating a link |
| From your mouth speaks your lovely voice |
| The best comments I've ever heard |
| Oh honey you've cut off your finger |
| I bet that gonna hurt |
| You put your arms around me |
| You put your arms around me |
| You put your arms around |
| I must have passed out on the porch |
| I'd never seen so many bright stars |
| When I wake up I'm in the waiting room A |
| At the local ER |
| My hand is wrapped in toilet paper |
| And my shirt's all blood red |
| I see you standing there like an angel |
| And I say Baby I must be dead |
| You put your arms around me |
| You put your arms around me |
| You put your arms around |
