| Basically Am and Em, picking the bass note then a strum for each: pick, Am, pick, Em, pick 6th string with pinky on third fret, repeat. I don't have this written in below. The chords listed are transitions from this pattern. |
| Intro: Repeat the above pattern a couple of times, then during verses, starting with the first Am listed below |
| Am | Em | |
| Ain't no sunshine when she's | gone |
| Am | Em | |
| Only darkness every | day |
| Dm | |
| Ain't no sunshine when she's | gone |
| F | |
| And this house just ain't no | home, |
| Am | |
| Anytime she goes away. |
| Wonder this time where she's gone |
| Wonder if she's gone to stay |
| Dm | |
| Ain't no sunshine when she's | gone |
| F | |
| And this house just ain't no | home, |
| Am | |
| Anytime she goes away. |
| Gm | Am | Gm | Am | |
| And I know I know I know | I | know I know I know I know I | I | know... To add fill, every fourth 'I know, pound on Gm and slide down two frets to A |
| m (same fingering) |
| Dm | |
| Baby you're leaving me far be | hind |
| Am | |
| There ain't sunshine when she's | gone Repeat 1st verse |
| This sounds great on a electric, not so great on an acoustic. For acoustic, I strum continuously between 'picks', and for the 'I know' business I pound the strings holding down only the second string of the first fret, then hammer down onto an Am. |

Lyrics:
Excuse me Mr. do you have the time or are you so important that it stands still for you
excuse me Mr. lend me your ear or are you not only blind but do you not hear
excuse me Mr. isn't that your oil in the sea and the pollution in the air Mr. whose could that be
excuse me Mr. but I'm a mister too and you're givin'Mr a bad name Mr. like you
so I'm taking the Mr. from out in front of your name cause it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame
and I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much
excuse me Mr. can't you see thechildren dying you say that you can't help them Mr. you're not even trying
excuse me Mr. take a look around Mr just look up and you'll see it's comin'down
excuse me Mr. but I'm a mister too and you're givin'Mr a bad name Mr. like you
so I'm taking the Mr. from out in front of your name cause it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame
and I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much
so Mr. when you're rattling on heaven's gate let me tell you Mr. by then it's too late
cause Mr. when you get there they don't ask how much you saved all they'l want to know,Mr. is what you gave
excuse me Mr. but I'm a mister too and you're givin'Mr a bad name Mr. like you
so I'm taking the Mr. from out in front of your name cause it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame it's a Mr. like you that puts the rest of us to shame

| Capo 1st Fret |
| (In a moderate country half-time) |
| D | G/D | D | |
| On a | warm summer's evenin' on a | train bound for | nowhere, |
| A | |
| I met up with the gambler; we were both too tired to | sleep. |
| D | G/D | D | |
| So | we took turns a starin' out the | window at the | darkness |
| G/D | D | A | D | |
| 'til | boredom overtook | us, | and he began to | speak. |
| D | G/D | D | |
| He said, | 'Son, I've made a life out of | readin' people's | faces, |
| A | |
| and knowin' what their cards were by the way they held their | eyes. |
| D | G/D | D | |
| And if | you don't mind my sayin', I can | see you're out of | aces. |
| G/D | D | A | D | |
| For a | taste of your | whiskey I'll | give you some | advice.' |
| D | G | D | |
| So I | handed him my bottle and he | drank down my last | swallow. |
| A | |
| Then he bummed a cigarette and asked me for a | light. |
| D | G | D | |
| And the | night got deathly quiet, and his | face lost all expr | ession. |
| G | D | A | D | |
| Said, 'If you're | gonna play the game, | boy, ya gotta | learn to play it | right. |
| D | G | D | |
| You got to | know when to hold 'em, | know when to | fold 'em, |
| G | D | A | |
| know when to | walk away and know when to | run. |
| D | Em/A | D | G | D | |
| You never | count | your | money when you're | sittin' at the | table. |
| G | D | A | D | |
| There'll be time | enough for | countin' | when the dealin's | done. |
| (Slide capo to 2nd fret) |
| D | G | D | |
| Ev'ry gambler knows that the | secret to surv | ivin' |
| A | |
| is knowin' what to throw away and knowing what to | keep. |
| D | G | D | |
| 'Cause | ev'ry hand's a winner and | ev'ry hand's a | loser, |
| G | D | A | D | |
| and the | best that you can | hope for is to | die in your | sleep.' |
| D | G | D | |
| And | when he'd finished speakin', he | turned back towards the | window, |
| A | |
| crushed out his cigarette and faded off to | sleep. |
| D | G | D | |
| And | somewhere in the darkness the | gambler, he broke | even. |
| G | D | A | D | |
| But | in his final | words I found an | ace that I could | keep. |

| There'll be time | enough for | countin' | when the dealin's | done. |

| I've seen this song tabbed quite a few times, but I've never seen the |
| right chords displayed for standard tuning. These chords are correct. |
| I've compared them with the album version, and they sound identical. |
| So here it is. Once again, I stress that these are the chords if you |
| want to play the song without a capo. Listen to the album version of |
| the song for the strumming pattern. It isn't hard to figure out. |

| Well, | where oh where can my | baby be? |
| F | G | |
| The Lord took her a | way from me. |
| C | Am | |
| She's gone to heaven, so I | got to be good, |
| F | G | |
| so | I can see my baby when I | leave this world. |
| (Use your palm to drum the guitar like the song) |
| We were out on a date in my daddy's car. |
| We hadn't driven very far. |
| There in the road, straight ahead ... |
| The car was stalled, the engine was dead. |
| I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right. |
| Never forget the sound that night ... |
| The screamintires, the bustin' glass. |
| The painful scream that I heard last. |
| Well, where oh where can my baby be? |
| The Lord took her away from me. |
| She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good, |
| so I can see my baby when I leave this world. |
| Well, when I woke up, the rain was pourin' down. |
| There were people standing all around. |
| Something warm falling through my eyes, |
| but somehow I found my baby that night. |
| I lifted her head, and she looked at me , and said, |
| 'Hold me darling for a little while.' |
| I held her close. I kissed her our last kiss. |
| I found the love that I knew I would miss. |
| But now she's gone, even though I hold her tight. |
| I lost my love ... my life, that night. |
| Well, where oh where can my baby be? |
| The Lord took her away from me. |
| She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good, |
| So I can see my baby when I leave this world. |
| uhh uh uh uh uhh and so on |

Chorus Leaving home, life was never good to me Leaving home, I smell the morning air Leaving home, life was never good If you can't work it out we're leaving home Verse 2 I could hear them through the door As people came in laughing at the way they acted when they were alone And an arguement would start With nothing more than this to be the love to leave you standing on your own
Oh, am I doing it again? Oh, I'm a loser now and then Oh, and I smile at everything Do you like me now? | Wait only for my bootheels to be wandering. |
| I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade, |
| Into my own parade. |
| Cast your dancing spell my way, I promise to go under it. |
| Though you might hear laughing, spinning, swinging madly across the sun, |
| It's not aimed at anyone, |
| It's just escaping on the run, |
| And but for the sky there are no fences facing. |
| And if you hear vague traces of skipping reels of rhyme, |
| To your tambourine in time. |
| It's just a ragged clown behind, |
| I wouldn't pay it any mind, |
| It's just a shadow you're seeing that he's chasing. |
| Take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind. |
| Down the foggy ruins of time, |
| far past the frozen leaves, |
| The haunted frightened trees, |
| Out to the windy bench, |
| Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow. |
| Yes to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, |
| Silhouetted by the sea, |
| Circled deep beneath the waves, |
| Let me forget about today until tomorrow. |

Artist: Ben Harper Song: The Woman In You
Ben Harper The Woman in You Tabbed by Maud
Verse : Bm A E Could this word I heard you said me this morning Showing some kind of sign of your believe Did it fall from your tongue without warning Or just another trick to fall from your sleeve Did I hear you say that you believe in angels I guess I bring the devil out in you But we can both remove our halos 'Cos even an angel needs love too Even angels need love too
Chorus : Bm E G A The woman in you is the worry, the worry in me The woman in you is the worry, the worry in me
Verse : same chords as above Some things never change Some things never stay the same But you are so innocent I'll take all the blame How I hate to remember For that means the day is past Sometimes I wonder if I know her Or if I really need to ask Or if I really need to ask
Chorus: The woman in you is the worry, the worry in me The woman in you is the worry, the worry in me The woman in you is the worry, the worry in me Woman, woman, woman, woman, woman, woman, woman
Verse : Half of men walks with no shadow Of life your other is distaste No apology is expected Love comes sorry in is his face Love comes sorry in is his face

ARTIST: Ben Harper SONG: Waiting On An Angel TABBED BY: Moses Brown browneye_023@yahoo.com.au
Ok the version of this on the album is tuned down a whole step, but if you can't be bothered it still sounds heaps good with standard tuning. Actually the Hollywood Bowl concert he just plays it with normal tuning, and it sounds great. The chords used in this song are basic but the hard part is the pattern he uses which is kinda complicated, but if you follow the instructions you should be sweet. Enjoy!
p = pull off h = hammer on

Lyrics
I could be loud man, I could be silent I could be young man or I could be old I could be a gentleman, or I could be violent I could turn hot man or I could be cold I could be just like the calm before the storm boy waitin' for all hell yeah to break loose I could be innocent or I could be guilty Doesn't mean that I won't believe in the news So I'm singing ...
I could be rich like a wondering gypsy I could be poor like a fat wallet lost I could be the first man or I could come last It's not who breaks the ribbon boy it's how you get across
I could be red, blue, black or white sunset As dark as a day boy or bright as a night I could be the sun boy or I could be the moon I made it from the stars boy I'm shining so bright So I'm singing...
I could be asleep boy, or I could be awake I could be alive and a be the walking dead I could be ignorant or I could be informed I could lead my life man or I could be lead I could be anything I put my mind to boy all I gotta do is give myself a half a chance I could bring love back into my life And share it with the world if I had some balance
