Canned Heat was great.  They did the opening song in Woodstock movie.

Sage advice from both violinists.  Just goes to show you, we are all different and digest things differently.  The main theme here is to practice.  All of you have great ideas on what a good practice should be, but in the end, it just boils down to practicing often, every day if possible.  I practice 4-5 times a day usually for 20-30 minutes each time.  The secret really is to practice daily.

I had totally forgotten about this classic in the sixties.  It was one of my favorite songs back then.  The Blues Magoos, Tobacco Road.

Before I bought my Martin, I played some of the lower end DX models.  Same thing here.  They were alright, but not quite good enough.  That's why I stepped up a notch or two and bought the Custom D Martin.  Sweet sound.

I hope I am not out in left field here, but I talked to Andreas Linke at http://linkesoft.com/  and he said he just made an interface for songbook for Ipod/IPAD and he is getting ready to get it working on Droid soon.  I have been using his Songbook for Windows and Windows Mobile for years.  It is the neatest program for storing your music files in chordpro format.  I am in no way affiliated with him.  I asked to to contact Chordie and see about advertising his program here.  I really feel it would benefit both him and Chordie.  He said he would check into it.  If I am out of bounds here, let me know.  In my opinion, his program would compliment Chordie well.

That's right hollie, don't let anyone discourage you in your choice of music.  People may make a little fun, but don't take it personal. We all make fun at each other quite often.

This appears to be the Nashville chord numbering system, I think.  Check it out here.

Which band did Van Morrison start out with?

You summed it up quite well, zurf.  I feel the same.

Cheating or not, it is what makes you feel good and sound better that is important.  Everyone plays and sings differently.  I take a lot of shortcuts with chords because they are easier for me and they sound just as good.  Always do it your way.  There is no better way for you than your way.

You know,Wayne, I checked out the HD 28 also and saw a comparison play on youtube of the two.  I like them both alot, but there is something about the J45 that I liked a little better.  Either would be fine really.  Maybe I better save up for both.

Excellent advice, mekidsmom.  That I will do.  Thanks.  I usually take a long time in the buying process for something like this.
