Selao sorry, been there done that. It gets better, that may not sound like much, but it does. Take sometime and regroup, you don't even have to make any long term plans. It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life.
As for the guitar you may want to take a break. I know I tend to plateau out, now and then., and I'm suprised how things work out when I come back to it.

Hello donzo, welcome to Chordie, if you go to the top of the acoustic forum you'll see a green sticky for strumming patterns, including finger picking. Enjoy!! I finger pick alot and it is all about practice, practice!!

Hi patrick I have a cheepy $60.00 amp from Wal-Mart it has trebel, mid and bass as wellas distortion. I only play it w/ headphoes, Mrs. insisits. I play a mix of country, rock etc. the digitech soungs like a lot of bang for the $$

It is easiest to pluck the 6th (E) string and the 4th (D) string at the same time and listen for the harmonic. Or if you have a tuner pluck the E and slowly tune down till you tuner says D
