Thanks for the indirect suggestion - after I read what you posted I realized the last verse was okay - but didn't really carry the theme as the first verse had. So I changed the last stanza a bit - I like it better - a little more catchy and in the same moments of the first verse I think- I hope you like it.
That's what is so great about chordie - man I love this site !
and see...... I was wrong
If one of you guys that can really play and sing as opposed to my abilities, want to cover this - I'd love to hear a version
Jim
That's what I usually hope for, one of the good players and singers here to do just that. There are many talented people here on Chordie for sure.
Thanks for the listen
Mojo
Very nice, Man !
I dig the rhythm and your voice suits the "blues-ish" nature of the lyrics very well.
Thanks for sharing! Well done.
I also like the Lone Star State icon for your song's image on soundcloud. Went through North Texas a couple weeks ago --- pheww - the air smells up by Hereford and Amarillo. That's a lot of beef in that area.... I couldn't help but think that someone must've written a song about that too.

Thanks again,
Jim
here is a quick take on it - it's fun to play --- wish I could freaking sing !

I had this line in my head - "This time I may be wrong" played around with the cowboy chords - and this is what I came up with.
Hope you like it.

Very Nice Gil
Great voice - guitar is excellent - passion so evident in lyric.
Well done !!
Jim
not to be nosey, but did you come away with her too ???
Nice song Gil !!
quite doubtful I believe.
They have so many rules about where they get their songs
Hey everyone---
this is a song Phill made and performed
I liked it so much - I made a video of what my interpretation was
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmqIqHZ … load_owner
hope you like song as much as I did ( being a history teacher it is the slant I took on it - ) - and the video as well.

Bill and Dondra

Very Inspirational !
A creed that every man should aspire to fulfill in this New Year.
I agree with the above, it would make a beautiful song.
Well done, a great way to usher in the Chordie New Year
Jim

Did best I could in short time - Happy New Year!
Here is the link - wish I had more time to work on it.

Happy New Year to all of the friends on CHORDIE !!

I don't know if it is okay that I used the real song a bit...if not I'm sure the Mods will take it down...but hey - it was worth a try
so here goes...

65 " of snow - holy crap Badeye - better find a good blues song for that !!
I re-wrote this a bit and changed the chords some. I think it plays a lot easier and makes a little sense.
Happy New Year to all my friends on Chordie. May the new year keep you safe, healthy, and full of happiness and love.
Jim
65 degrees and rain in Southern tier area of NY and at my daughters house in New Mexico - blizzard with 18" of snow. This is really weird !

I couldn't resist !!
Merry Christmas to all of my fellow Chordians!!
I guess I would qualify as a fence sitter.
I agree with both TF and Uncle Joe - There is a boatload of advances that have come as a result of the space program - including many medical breakthroughs- our lives have been considerably advanced no doubt. But I also agree with TF - there is so much waste $ NASA spent $ 1million on menu development for manned mars mission - not to happen for many years
U.S. gov't pays some researcher $ 75,000 to find out why white grapes have smaller seeds than purple grapes ? 700,000 on soccer field for Guantanamo prisoners $100million in subsidies to the republican and democrat parties for their conventions every 4 years
My opinion ....fund good programs - cut the bullshit - help people with what you save.
Just my thought
Ok - here is the song about Christmas dinner
It's funny , but then it's not.
Hope you like it.
If someone that could actually could sing and play it well, I think it would be pretty cute.
Thanks for listening !

good one badeye
Janis J was a favorite of mine - I remember how proud I ws the day I bought her " Pearl" album. ( I still have it)
Woodstock was an hour an and a half from my house. I was 17 at the time.
Think about all the great musicians that were there..... holy crap a concert like that today would carry a price tag of millions and a per ticket cost of who knows what !
I could watch Woodstock clips all day long.
Thanks for the run down memory lane !!
Jim
