Bill,  good score..... but you do know that the little headphone amp does not have an "effects package"? so it will likely give you a "clean" feed.

The Snark tuner is popular with many fellow Chordians, and it "hears" the vibrations in the wood rather than the sound of the instrument.  No cables, and moves readily from one guitar/bass/??? to another with ease, making it very versatile (and easy to use even in noisy environments).

I agree with BGD, it should have come with a CD containing software and drivers for those functions..... a keyboard is just a keyboard until you install some special instructions telling your computer how to talk to all the fancy doodads. smile

this is my first post here and would like to say if not for this site I would not be where I am today with my acoustic playing as this is where I taught myself to play. I was told about chordie from a music teacher who gave me 2 lessons in his shop. He was one of the Trapp brothers from Lebanon,In. Thank you...Thank you! I was disabled with dystonia at 55 years of age and needed to occupy my mind with a new hobby and picked up an old washburn and now at 60 years of age I still practice everyday or mostly everyday,,,my life is the reality of true blues as I have been down for along time and if not for my music it would be far different than what it is.I have probably acquired my own style and would be difficult to play in a band but I just enjoy playing and trying to sing(lol) and have quite a variety of songs that are automatic now and with a couple new guitars I am actually beginning to really enjoy playing in front of people now(public beware,,,lol)  I believe in positive songs ,country, blusey, feel good songs,,,,but once again,,,Thank You Chordie, com as you are the best site I could have ever asked for,,,,so lets all roll and play and yes Rock on!  my next step is trying to really understand tabulature but at 60 years I should probably just stick with chord playing,,,Have a great day!

Welcome to the Chordie Forums.... and the Community !!  If you have been "lurking" awhile, you should have gathered that this is not only a great resource for learning but has evolved into a Social Centre.  There are a lot of folks here who share your interests and values, who I'm sure would like to hear more from you as you feel comfortable.  Most of us either have been, or are, where you are in your musical journey.

Welcome Aboard !!

Sorry I will refer you to the website as we endorse them and all, but we do not actively market on their behalf.  I'd give it a "maybe".

Right you are Bill (as usual).... a little over a year "Zombie'd" !!

Me either, we just have to face it Jan.... we are just too young to remember. big_smile

And to Bill.... you know I'm just kidding???  At the time I was old enough but not spending that much time tuning in to that "evil Rock-n-Roll music".  Then I discovered Surfin' and all that changed, until a friend of mine drug himself out of the water with half his calf missing from a "love nip" by a curious Shark.  Redondo Beach 1966.  Decided hot cars were more my thing.... smile

Because that is the limit (although I thought it was 100)..... but either way you can now start "Book2" and continue.  Some folks have a few sorted by genre with titles to reflect the contents.  Originally it was to conserve server space, and thoughtful of that, I keep all my music on my local drive (and backed up) so the tunes are available to me even when there is no internet connection.

There are a few tabs for them here:  https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/be … k_tabs.htm
Which might get you started in your search.... otherwise you might feed a MP3 to Chordify.net and see what it comes up with.

Welcome to Chordie and sorry I can't be much more help.

A little less $$$ and a good "stable" transportable would be one of these:  http://www.guitarcenter.com/Applause/Ba … -Guitar.gc
Almost indestructable and with good sound and well set-up.... needs a strap to help hold it unless you use a foot stand..... but I have been impressed with the ones I've played.

You are 30 plus days out of surgery and I'm guessing fairly happy with the results..... which is a good thing !!  You only have 2 years of down time to make up for so I would expect once the calluses get back you'll be right in the mix again.  Most of us have had some down time over the years and it always seems to be easier almost as if it was riding a bicycle, or something not like work.

Welcome back !!

Actually the "closed" topic just means that no new posts can be added to that thread, not that the information within is not available to read and benefit from.  There is another thread here in the "About Chordie" section about the issue that you are having, and usually clearing your cookies and logging in again will correct the problem.  You might wander through up there and see if it is helpful.  I would try, but I don't keep a songbook here on Chordie because most places I go where I want my music available is so far off the "beaten track" that internet is not available.

This is kinda the way I do it, which gets just the right number of wraps around the post so no knot tying is needed.

Seems to work well for most metal strings..... Nylon on the other hand does need some knotting practice especially on those slot head guitars with the large diameter windlass. smile

Look at one of these for an option,  I like all my tools together when doing a job.

There are electric ones, but you get more control with your hands which I prefer. smile

Way out of sequence !!!  But having been to a local venue this last weekend reminded me of a big influence in my own musical journey.  So for those not familiar with this very familiar local (to me) artiste, may I introduce Terry Robb...

In my mind, without the lyrics, music is:  non-political, genderless, non-sectarian, and colorblind.  If the message the lyrics bring into the mix violates an ethical or moral value that I hold.... I tune it out and do not buy the album (or play the tune).  Being one of the folks that grew up in the "Rock-N-Roll" years, if you tossed out everyone who abused illegal drugs, wrecked a car, got arrested, cheated on your spouse or "other", attended a political rally or demonstration, cursed on-air, or otherwise violated one of society's norms or standards.

There wouldn't be any music to play and we wouldn't be having this discussion. smile  smile

Made the trip up and back.... nice weather (for a change) and met a bunch of great Luthiers who were willing to chat a bit about woods, sound, finishes and motivation for spending the time to build instruments that can only be considered functional works of Art.  Managed to get a few photos good enough to share, but had some quality problems with back lighting and exposure control with all that darn sunshine filtering through the windows of the venue.  I'll find a host and post links later.

Was thankful that the checkbook didn't make the trip as there wasn't enough room in the van for all the ones that might have been candidates to bring home.  Most of the folks there were happy to let you take their stuff out of the hall into one of the side rooms and actually play for a bit without sending an armed guard.... amps and cables provided, "bring your own talent".  wink

Across the commons  area in Wiegand Hall up on the third floor (stairs or an elevator!!), the Chapel had been set up for demonstrations and performances by local talent using instruments featured on the show floor.  So there was a steady stream of live music to enjoy on a 15 minute rotation.  All in all a nice way to spend a Sunday Afternoon that otherwise might have been "wasted" doing something like yard-work, or similar chores. smile smile

Oh Yeah... I "bumped into" that other Doug Smith (the one with the Grammys) hanging out in one of the halls playing all by himself and we introduced ourselves and enjoyed a nice mini-concert in between sets.  Naturally that photo of the two of us was one of the ones that was totally junk, but I wanted one just so I could prove to everyone that we are two separate people.... Really !!

I`ve chosen this as i think it will be a different challenge,to the usual stuff.

You tryin' to win some kind of "popularity contest" with that one???  Only among those who really like the key of Bd....  I just tried it (and although that is my Key) I'm gonna not even take a wild shot at it.

Well plans are firmed up, and Jeff & I are going to make the trip up to the Portland show on Sunday.  Jeff & I have been playing music together for something like 35 years, and this weekend just happens to fit into his schedule as well.  Perhaps there will be other members present tool, but how to tell Chordieans from the rest of the herd.... I have no idea!!

See you there (or not).... but have a good weekend anyway !
