Jerome, thats a good point you make, they have in fact won those Championships under Jerry's owership, but there's also no denying he is meddlesome in the day to day operations of the team, one might wonder how much more successful they might have been if he would stay up in the booth, maybe more, maybe not, I guess we'll never know for sure. I realize it's his team, his money, but I just feel that you hire the right people"football people" and let them do their job.

Makes great sense Ozy, I competely agree with you, I really believe Jerry Jones is the biggest problem the Cowboys have, as well as Al Davis for Oakland. It's time Jerry and Al let go and sell the teams.

On a different note about football as well as other Major sports is that I believe there are to many teams, the talent is to spread out, to many guys playing on that level that don't belong there, thus a watered down version, if you keep adding water to gasoline it becomes to diluted. I wish they would cut down on the number of teams, concentrate the talent into a smaller pool and make for more talented teams, yes I know it's about the money, I understand that so it's not going to happen. But this is how I feel, anyone else have any feelings about this?

Thanks Tuba, I appreciate that, I've learned to not get to up or down where Duke's football program is concered, as you may know were much more of a basketball school. As far as the Dallas cowboys are concered I'm not sure why everyone expects big things from them. Going into last year it had been 4.000 and some days before they won a playoff game, then last year they finally won one. I think it's time for everyone to put Dallas in the higher end of the lower echelon of teams where they belong IMHO If it were anyone else I think we all would have long ago. I don't know if it's the Coaches, the players or simply just Jerry Jones who hurts this team, they seem to lean toward players who have so many off the field problems who are flashy but have no substance. Jerry seems to like the camera's and the media on him rather than his team, again just my thoughts, it dosen't make them right or wrong.

Here's hoping they all make it out safe. I can't imagine being down there so long and what thoughts must have gone through their minds, and what they're feeling now.

Yeah Toots I thought about you after Alabama got beat and then again after the Saints were beaten. I knew you weren't going to be happy with all that happening. As I'm writing this my 49ers just scored on their opening drive so thats good.

Topdown, glad to see your Wolfpack back on track with their win, I'm not sure who they have next but good luck.

Cam

Topdown, thats just plain wrong, both morally and fundamentaly.

Ok Topdown

I see you did some great research there so I decided I'd do a little

Duke BlueDevils

17 Conference Titles
61 All American's
10 ACC Players of the year
11 College Football Hall Of Famers
3 NFL Hall of Famers

The most famous Duke football season came in 1938, when Wallace Wade was head coach and the "Iron Dukes" were born. Wade shocked the college football world by leaving Alabama for Duke in 1930, later rationalizing the move by saying that Duke shared his belief that a school should provide its athletes with a strong academic background. Wade's success at Alabama (three national championships) translated well to Duke's program, most notably in 1938, when his "Iron Dukes" went unscored upon the entire regular season. In fact, that Duke team is one of three in college football history to have gone undefeated, unscored upon, and untied in the regular season.[citation needed] Duke reached their first Rose Bowl appearance, where they lost 7-3 when USC scored a touchdown in the final minute of the game on a pass from a second string quarterback to a third string tight end. Wade's Blue Devils lost another Rose Bowl to Oregon State in 1942, this one held at Duke's home stadium in Durham, North Carolina due to Pearl Harbor. Wade's achievements placed him in the Hall of Fame.

Don't forget Georgia Tech was Co Champs one year, Though I will agree The ACC is kinda weak in football overall compared to other Conference's.
We are more of a basketball conference

Don't look now but the Kansas City Chiefs are the only unbeaten team in the NFL.

Whoda thunk it

Good luck Zurf,

Your health is of the upmost importance, I've been lucky in my life as far as that goes, no health problems so far at 54, I'm one of those that can eat whatever and never gain an ounce. While I still stay active, I'm sure there are things I could change"my diet" and do better. I admire your effort and wish you good luck with this.

Yeah Toots I agree. Alabama just keeps on rolling, I'll be the first in line to say how good they are. Seems to me there may be a few NFL teams they could give a good run for the money. But let's not forget, every dog has his day Should it come down to Alabama and Ohio ST. I'll be pulling for Alabama, but lots of things can happen between now and then.
