It was a very good night Jim and quite packed for the most of it .We only got bits of video and these two were towards the end of the night.Had the girl taking the vid got all of the Proclaimers song you'd have heard the Ozzy Osbourne intro we did with it ,as I played the start of Crazy train to fool every one which went down very well .The two songs mash up well together. I'll check out the Brad Paisley song you mention ,I like Brad he's a great player

Firstly I'll apologise for the references to New Zealand Lamb . This song was written by a friend of our singer who is a sheep farmer in the Yorkshire dales an we were asked to do a party for him so we did a recording of the song as a special favour Hope you like it .
Ronnie Allen is on vocal
Robert Pitcher is on bass, violin , accordion, drums and farm yard noises '
And me Graham Windle on guitar , banjo and mandolin .
Robert also did all the production and studio work .
Hope you like it its very silly

Re: RAIN (10 replies, posted in Featured Song of the Month)
Phill even band gigs are getting hard as I find most of the sound depends on me to set up ,sure the rest of the band help with the gear and the pull down at the end ,but we could really use some roadies and a sound engineer like we had in Greece.Sadly this current band doesn't earn enough for that.

Re: RAIN (10 replies, posted in Featured Song of the Month)
It's my lung conditions really Phill ,but covid has made it worse .I've had to cancel all my solo stuff .After I did the festivals at Lancaster and Kendal I knew it was time to stop .I may still do the odd open Mic song but no more full sets .I can still play with Ronnie and The Rockits for the foreseeable future and maybe do the odd studio track

Re: RAIN (10 replies, posted in Featured Song of the Month)
If I was covering this song Phill I think I would give it a bit of a Reggae feel . However as i said in my Xmas song post my voice is pretty bad these days so the chances of doing any thing is getting less and less . Great lyrics Phill and a good recording . well played and well sung .

Re: Xmas Carol (9 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Thanks for the nice comments guys.I always try to write something for Xmas which brings out what the true sentiments should be about. I do feel there is too much hype about Xmas and it has become a marketing platform for the big corporations.I'm not in any way religious so this isn't that sort of a post ,I just think we all should help each other and care not just at Xmas but all the time. I'll put my soap box away now and thank every one once again for listening Cheers G

Some people say she was a rich girl, mixed up with aristocracy
Am G Am~
Never had a bad word for the new King ,still respects the power of monarchy

used to go to parties at the palace, used to dress in ermine and in pearls

Here's a link to a Festival Ronnie and the Rockits have been invited to next year ,
Please check the link .
Dan Weber the organiser has put in a lot of time and effort to get this festival off the ground and its all for a good cause .
Currently I think we are doing an hour and a half on the Sunday . If any Chordie members are in the area come and say hi we'd love to see you .
Cheers

Heres a couple of acoustic numbers from my recent set at Gregson lane club nr Preston in Lancashire UK very close to the town where I was borne .Incidently Its about 4 yrs since I last played this area and its nice to go back occasionally
The songs are both pure acoustic no amplification allowed at this club but what a great buunch to play to,
The first one is an old favourite Supermarket Sex God and the second is a new one about my wifes nightly exploits with her Amazon Kindle and how it keeps me awake LOL

If I started with political songs on here I'd be banned within the hour . Phill knows my leanings .The only good thing I can say is if Boris did return then I'd get to play my old songs again . Its beyond belief that the people of our country are stupid enough to allow some one as dishonest back into the system . Pam and I are packing our bags and seeking asylum in NZ along with Phill . mean while this song says it better than I can .
