LIVIN ON THE EDGEby Russell Harding

Intro E A E D C B E

Verse

[E]Livin on the edge of reality, I was Just a stones throw from insanity

backed up in a corner and I knew I couldn't win I was running out of

choices and the odds were getting thin

[A]taking junk to get me up and then to bring me down I was

heading for disaster and I couldn't turn around

[E]when you hit the bottom and there ain't nowhere to go

you better hold on tight put a knot in the rope

[D]hold on tight or [C]lose your [B]life you [E]know

verse (same chords as verse 1)

My brain it was on fire and about to explode, I was racing with

the devil on a dead end road, snorting and a popping everything

there was in sight, riding in the fast lane to the after life

innocence I lost when I was seventeen to a painted lady in a limousine

at a drive in movie that we never got to see, fogging up the windows

we were cooking up the steam

[D]hold on tight or [C]lose your [B]life you [E]know

solo

repeat 1st verse and fade

Hello Iceman and welcome to Chordie, buying a effects pedal you will get a lot of opinions it comes down to what your budget can handle I use a Boss ME-50 it has several effects and a volume pedal I think I paid around $250.00 for it includes reverb, delay several distortion settings and a harmonizer there are also some stomp boxes that give individual effects but it still depends on your budget and what genre of music you want it for but thats my recomendation im sure there will be other members who can provide other choices good luck with it smile

glad your enjoying its always satisfying to hear something you create come out well and recordings are a good way to listen to your progress and improve,I find if I use a mic on my electric acoustic it records better my choice of strings is the Martin silk n steel I have used them for over 10 years they have a unique sound and are easy to fret with or without a pick and recording is contagious lol

Tony that was a very good effort I like the chord changes find a way to add a bass if you can it would round out the sound but I think you did well on this smile

Sound is measured in decibels and all sound in frequencies the lower frequencies travel furthur in the air which is why you can hear tuba or a drum for a greater distance then a trumpet or trombone unamped I would have to choose a drum they have been used for sending signals or messages for centuries or even an alpine horn but listening to a parade from a distance the tuba and drums seem to stand out but if your ear was up against a trumpet or trombone it would most likely would cause damage to your hearing smile

I cant watch any 9/11 videos again once was enough I would really like to say what I am thinking this moment about past events which led us to the posistion we as Americans are in believe me I would, but Chordie is not a venue for venting political agendas or religious dogmatisisms we come together to share our love for music the one redeeming human quality that transends them and elevates us above this madness.

I think an application of your imagination and a dash of your soul are key ingredients in this recipe scales are only an arrangement of notes like colors on a palette the wrong ones when mixed produce mud smile
