Hi Badeye,

A Gem of a song and I guess there are no prizes for guessing who this is about. Well done.

We really must try and persuade you to record some of your songs. I think I will ask Helena to use her Irish charm on you.

Hi Russ,

I have just played this one as, unlike young Will, I do not have a guitar in my head so I have to physically perform a song. I played it fairly upbeat and I look forward to hearing it on MySpace to see how wrong (or right) I got it.

Hi Al,

I could not agree with you more, a tuner should be one of your first buys, but Zucko was wanting something cheap. I am pleased to see that he has decided to buy one now.

Hi docralf,

Welcome to Chordie. I cannot understand why you have posted this link as the song is already here in Chordie: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.u … ;id=421086

If you care to look on the right hand side of the screen just below the 'View' box you will see that there is an auto-scroll.

The question how to enter a song, chords or tabs has been asked about 1,000,000 times (or so it seems) and the short answer is you cannot put one direct into Chordie as Chordie hosts none.

Please read the 'Sticky' at the start of this section and read the FAQ in Resources for details.

Hi Zucko,

Welcome to Chordie. Here is the cheapest way I know to tune your guitar, go to: http://www.get-tuned.com/guitar_tuner.php and you can tune your guitar for free.

I hope it helps,

Roger

Hi Russ,

I have just popped to your website and had a listen. Great song and recording and I have to say that the lyrics reflect a lot of my recent thoughts.

Glad to see you have now got the upper hand with chopro formatting too.

Thank you,

Roger

Badeye,

I too am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, my condolences to you and his family. As Ken has already written it is difficult to know what to say at times like this but you know that our thoughts are with you.

Hey Phill,

Excellent recording and great song, I do hope however that the line "With a paper for a blanket and some gin to keep her warm" is not a true description of your grandmother, looking at the photo I doubt it. I think she would give you a playful clip round the ear and then laugh her sox off if she read it.

Well done,

Roger

**PS. I put the 'www.' on your web link for you**

Hey Daddycool,

Go to Google and search 'Convert .wav to .mp3 free' and you will find many converters for your songs if you have not already got one.

Hi Rik,

Welcome to Chordie. Perhaps the easiest way to find easy songs for beginers it to look in the 'Public Songbooks' there you will see that you can select 'Absolute Beginners'. A selection of songbooks compiled by Members for novices that you can search for song that you know.

Hi Phill,

I wish you had posted this message on the song's thread as I had to search back 4 pages to find it.

I see that for some reason I never commented on this song originally (possibly as the chords were not all the way through the song) but after listening to it it is great and a wonderful recording too. Well done.

Now all you have to do is get your others recorded and fill the other 5 slots on MySpace, a little task for you this afternoon perhaps? lol

Thanks you,

Roger

Hey Wayne,

The easy answers are often the hardest to find. In these days of sophisticated technology, connections seem to be the last thing we think about. Glad it is sorted.

By the way it makes me a bonehead too for not suggesting it to you lol

Hi Russ,

Glad I was wrong about that one. The advertising put up by Google does vary from location to location. Mine are always in Portuguese so they are very easy to dismiss, but anything down the right had edge of your screen will be advertising even if it is in poor taste.

How about "Can't Help Falling In Love" - Elvis Presley

Or "Groovy Kind Of Love" - The Mindbenders and later Phil Collins

Or "There'll Never Be Anyone Else" - Ricky Nelson

All a bit dated but classics that are easy to play and sing and convey the right mesage.

Sorry Phill,

My definition of a ballad is a song that tells a story and not the style of it, in fact I played it upbeat before I posted my message.

You have just prompted me to look at my dictionary Ballad: narrative poem, simple song so perhaps I better revise my definition.

Great narrative song Phill lol

A beautiful, romantic song Daddycool, just my sort of song.

You mention just using basic chords but there is absolutely nothing wrong in that if there is feeling in the lyrics and also the melody that comes from the chords you can have a winner, just like you have here. Many a number one hit has been with three chords only.

Thank you,

Roger

Hey Daddycool,

Nice song but you have now set yourself a task - if you do not write one for each of your children you will have a riot on your hands lol

Well done,

Hi Russ,

I was privileged to get the chance hear this song whist giving a bit of coaching on the formatting and what a cracking one it is, well done my friend.

As an aside the chords appear at the bottom as part of the formatting, if it is shown in the song the chord diagram automatically appear at the bottom.

Great song,

My younger brother, Colin, and I entered in a seaside talent competition when I was 14 and he 13. We were playing a recent Shadows hit "Apache" but a few bars into it it went horribly wrong. I immediately announced to the audience "I am sorry Ladies and Gentlemen, but my brother has made a mistake, so we will start again".

Forty eight years on and we still argue to this day as to who was actually to blame for the faux pas with that number. Still it was not so bad as we won the heat and then came second to a little girl singing Elvis's "Wooden Heart" in the final.
