Cool Peatle.

It is amazing the different perspectives that people have in how to spend their lives. They beauty of it sometimes - sometimes rather poor choices though.
I always thought being a farmer would be a great lifestyle  but for so many it is so hard and unforgiving.  My friend has been dumping his milk because the price is so low it cost him more to ship it than what he would receive as check. so sad after watching him work so hard.

That is a beauty - definitely a keeper.
Glad you are satisfied.

I agree with Phill as well - so glad have you on here again and I would love to also hear the guitar.

Mojo   I'm liking this a lot. Greta lyrics and as per usual your playing and singing are top shelf.
I liked the walk down at the end - you are really talented  in a lot of ways.

Jim

In a Gadda Da Vida

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (derived from "In the Garden of Eden") is a song recorded by Iron Butterfly, written by band member Doug Ingle and released on their 1968 album of the same name.

At slightly over 17 minutes, it occupies the entire second side of the album. The lyrics, a love song from the biblical Adam to his mate Eve, are simple and are heard only at the beginning and the end. The middle of the song features a two-and-a-half-minute Ron Bushy drum solo.

It was a classic - pretty much the beginning of heavy metal genre.

Ron Bushy's drum solo was the inspiration for Ringo Starr's drum solo on "The End" from the Beatles 1969 album, Abbey Road. It was the last song recorded collectively by all four Beatles.

and of course.....

The Who  - won't get fooled again     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDfAdHBtK_Q&t=382s

I agree with Wipeout by Safaris, Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love

my 5th song /drum solo would be Santana at Woodstock in 1969.
Michael Shrieve was the drummer - really just a kid at age 20 - stepping out on that stage, in those circumstances.   A classic drum solo !
The song was   " Soul Sacrafice"       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_pDjX65vHo

At age 20, Shrieve was the youngest musician to perform at Woodstock

although not a classic " Drum Solo" - Levon helm of the band was awesome on this song.
Ringo did a fabulous job on this version.....   Peatle I think posted earlier this past week.

by far my favorite version ever of "The Weight"

here is a quick version ( I had to cough once- sorry!) of my song - apologies for playing and singing
didn't have time to re-do it.

This was written as a finale to Easybeat's Blitz !  smile

Fantastic song Peatle

Very emotional - could be interpreted so many ways.

So cool that Coldplay wrote it !

Those boys with JoAnne were incredible in more ways than their voices.

OK I owe EB and Peatle  big time for turning us on to this band of awesome musicians.

Everytime I play one of their performance it is an eye opening,  HOLY SH** experience.

This is absolutely amazing - I have no clue how they can do such a thing - It is beautiful and
outstanding music - vocally and instrumentally.

on a side note - check out the gut with ponytail - and notice his tie!!  smile

Enjoy this - I am sure you will,   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L63j8wUP8kY

Jim

here is a bonus- Them playing Nirvana's  Smells like teen spirit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z680nUcxlLc

Billy strings is maybe the best guitar player I have sen.  Post Malone joins him on stage.  They take a simple Johnny Cash song and make it incredible

and again with Molly Tuttle

and then  there is Glenn Campbell !

Holy wow -   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUBhE00h9U0

Phill

nope - it was
"stank like hell"
"nut" brown

this part probably not for little kids...

"Dreaming of death yet longing for youth
Never accepting that "NO" was an answer
Belligerence grew like a terminal cancer."

but other than that (in my no account opinion ) it is classic and a poem that would spark imagery and wonder and fantastic fantasy -
I would love to have 3rd graders have this read to them and then have them draw what they thought it looked like.  There wouldn't be one picture the same !

I love it !!

That  is nonsense genius !  I love it

I'm telling you that with a couple fixes ( there are a couple of innuendos there I believe)
that might not be appropriate for I'm about to say......
That would be a huge hit in elementary school.  If Peatle could illustrate it - you guys might make a fortune.
It's witty, makes you think to put things together, and real draws on imagination.

Top shelf there my friend.

This is one of Dan Fogelberg's most personal songs. It's a tribute to his father, Lawrence Fogelberg, who was a band director. One of my favorite songs.

Phill

Thanks for the kind words, and you are spot on - that's how I have it my head.
I kind of envision it as a pub song.

Since that " shanty style" sounds to me to be a very "old English sailor" type of a song, I think maybe you should be the one to put it to music  smile

Thanks again for giving it a look

1st, that is a favorite Who song of mine !

That was one of the finest performances I have watched on you tube - ever !
I urge all chordians that read this to be sure to watch the video !

Incredible voices, perfect play on humor - ( I loved the line " shut up your face ! smile  )
I have listened to it three times - just amazing.
It is incredible what awesome musicians can do.

Thank you so much for sharing this !

That sounded good for a live recording.
It must be so much fun to just be able to go on a stage and play.  I wish I had the talent of yours and all the musicians here on chordie.

Jim

Peatle
Yes Sir !  That was very nice - relaxing music.
The photos and art work by P.J. Shutlar ( is he someone you know? ) were impressive as well.
Thanks for sharing this Peatle !!!

I wrote one for Brian's crusade at the beginning and I promised him one for the end.
So here it is - probably needs a little tweaking and polish - but I wanted to get it out there.

When Someone Breaks Your Heart By Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

.

[D]it’s time to take me home boys, guess I’ve had too much to [G]drink

it’s [A] time to take me home boys, my mind's too numb to [D]think

[D] Memories keep coming back, and so do all of the [G]tears

It’s [A]time to take me home boys, I've still [G]loved her, all these [D]years

.

Verse2

.

[D]it’s time to take me home boys, another night I end up [G]alone

It’s [A] time to take me home boys, her heart, must be made of [D] stone

[D]Don’t know how long this hurt will last, hope I ain’t asking [G]much

but, it’s [A] time to take me home boys, I'm still [G]longing for her[D] touch.

.

Chorus

.

Seems [G]love always does just what it wants [D]hearts aren't always true

I’m [A] stuck with a love that never was, and it’s [G]got me feelin’ [D] blue

oh, I [G]can’t just start over 'cause I [D]don't know where to start.

I [A]guess that’s what happens, when [G]someone breaks your [D]heart.

yeah, I [A]guess that’s what happens, when [G]someone breaks your [D]heart..

.

Verse 3

[D]it’s time to take me home boys, ya' know It's getting kind of [G]late

it’s [A]time to take me home boys, blame it on a simple twist of [D]fate

[D] ain’t no sense holding onto a happiness I never [G] had

It’s [A]time to take me home boys, that last [G] song's got me feeling [D]sad

.

Verse 4

[D] it’s time to take me home boys, this hurting has got to [G]end

My [A] tears can't keep falling and this heartache's got to[D] mend

[D]I tried my best to have her love me, but it just wasn’t meant to [G]be

it’s [A] time to take me home boys, still my [G]heart and set it [D]free.

.

.

Chorus

That was fabulous - that didn't need any guitar at all !
What great music - I am not a huge Jazz lover - but this is actually one of my favorite songs of all times. ( and this was a great rendition)
