I checked you out, Alvee. You sound great to me. You can put more songs on YouTube without any embarassment, in my opinion.
And I checked upyerkilt and he also sounds great. Well....I didn't really check upyerkilt, if you know what I mean.

I don't have an account, but I look at things there all the time. You know, as well as I, that the world is full of negativity. Some people like to make you squirm. I see YouTube as a place to put your material out to the world, be it good or bad. Funny or sad. We've all seen some really horrible playing and singing on it, but I just laugh to myself and move on. At least they are brave enough to put it there in the first place.

Yes, Getfiddle, we've all done some wierd things which we are able to laugh about many years later.

This didn't take long. Badeye, you especially want to keep your chord hand out of the way for sure.

Re: Looking for a New Guitar (35 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Yes, acoustic. I have been checking out Takamine also. And yes, I won't order one without trying it. That's what I did with my Fender and I am not as happy with it as I thought. I was just wondering if an expensive lowend would be better than a cheaper highend. I guess I know the answer to that also, but I'd like to hear some opinions. Thanks for the replies so far.

Topic: Looking for a New Guitar (35 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Here is my dilema. I would like to get a better guitar than my Fender. I want something that sounds really good, around $500.00. I would really like a Martin or taylor, but......I am not that good. What I am wondering is, should I buy a low end Martin or Taylor(are they any good?) or a higher end Washburn or Epiphone for instance. I know it is always better to try them out first, but what would you do if you just wanted to order one? Those of you with a lot of experience playing different guitars, which way would you go?

Re: Self taught or taking lessons (86 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I'm mostly self taught. I've used chord books and now the internet. I wish I would have had the passion over the years because I would play for a few months then quit for several years (as many as 20 years at on time). Now that I am retired, I allow myself to have the pleasure of practicing every day. It does make a difference. Really, I feel I only started about two years ago, as opposed to 40 years ago. If I would have kept at it, who knows, I might be a lot better than I am now.

Re: Some good chord changing exercises???? (25 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Im looking for someone that can give me the basic chord groups........
ie If a song is in A, then the chords available are A, D and E (in most cases)
I have gotten so used to a book with chords in, although Ive played the song 100 times, close the book and Im nowhere!!!!!!
Vandean, I have been playing for years off and on and I still have to have chords and words in front of me. I've just accepted it and move on. I am envious of people who just pick up the guitar and start playing from memory.

I saw this, or another one many years ago in a film called "The Many Faces of Death". There is a series of films out on things like this. It also shows things like parachutists falling in an alligator farm in florida. Gruesome films. You might look up the series, just for your curiosity.

You do kind of forget Jerry Reed playing good guitar with Smokiee and the Bandit. And James Taylor, that was a good one. Here's another wierd combo, but great song.

Let's look at it this way. In the price range of 300.00 to 600.00, what are some of the better ones. I am asking this because I am looking for another. I am sure we will get a lot of opinions on this, but what do you say?
