they could be useing an octave effect which gives both high and low notes together added with some overdrive compressed sustain and a little delay the boss ME-50 calls it a harmonist setting on the modulation effect smile

Phill thats a possibility even if my efforts are successful, the more exposure the better and Randy (riddler) is really top notch on web sites and there creation, food for thought... good thinking my Welsh friend smile

Your welcome Jeff and stick with it, make this CD the best you can and dont accept "thats good enough"you dont get a second chance to make a first impression smile

There are a number of ways to promote your songs but first you have to have a finished product that's mastered there are a number of companies that will provide artwork and duplicating your CD and I have a few contacts that could help, and unless you perform regularly selling them off the stage is not a viable direction,if you email me privately I can provide you with information as to manufacturing, distribution, promotion etc..but wait till you have a finished product that your happy with smile

Okay so I was at a recording session this weekend where we were recording the drum tracks for my songs I'll Never Get Tired of You, Unspoken Thoughts of Mortality and You'll Come Back Home. While we were between songs the drummer asked me what I plan on doing once I get the CD done and my answer was that I hadn't really thought it through. So how does one go about promoting your music? I have some ideas but really zero experience at it. By the way the CD is coming along and sounding real good but it sure has been a slow process. Any I have 4 songs complete, 3 near, and 3 with a lot of work to do.

ok a simple explanation...raising a note up a half or whole tone or more with the option of returning the note where you started without fretting it,also trilling (controled tempo or the bend for expression) is used sometimes in conjuntion with a volume pedal, wah wah or tone arm pedal for more expression of a note or phrase like in "da blues man" smile

Someone touched me as I slept
I awoke in a desert
I tried to draw your face in the sand
But the wind came and blasted my eyes
I ran towards the comfort of my past
But there was no horizon
So I stopped and stood, erect
Like a nipple on the smooth breast of Mother Earth
And I watched as the shifting sands
Stole the footprints of my story.

Just a short thought/poem on what it must be like to have your history/family stolen from you.
Incidentally, I grew up in Northern Ireland among all the s***e...
Dear Mother Earth, please bless Palestine!

selso you can adjust the volume of the rhythm track on the left of the audacity screen there is a panel with 2 slider bars, one for pan and one for volume the top one is the volume control of the recorded track just use your curser and move it to the left to where you like it, as far as the audacity files on mediafire click on the audacity folder it will display several individual smaller files like "audacity 1 2 3" and so on, click on the number 1 file and a dowload page will appear along with a "download"bar if you click on it you will be asked to run or save choose save and make sure you save it to your documents  or some other destination so you can find it and just repeat this till you have several of the videos downloaded and saved, once you have done this click on the red "X" on the top right this will close that page and when you get back to your start screen(desktop) open your documents or the place you saved it to and click on the folder and on the top left click on "file" and select "play and it will play on your default media player if your still having problems get back to me and good luck smile

I realize russell harding has tutorials on media fire, but i cant seem to excess the files.  my problem is i'll record a rythm track and when i go back to record a lead the rythm track is louder. i cant figure out how to adjust each tracks volume separtly. i dont have a mic , so i have to sit really close to the computer, and its all on acoustic.

moi stubborn lol yes!! Doug thanks for your encourgment, I wonder where would humanity be today if at the first sign of rough waters the explorers dropped sail and waited for fair weather. I know this isnt going to be handed on a silver plate few things in life are and reaching a goal is not as much fun as the journey taken "but that the cause be noble tis reason enough for the effort" or something along those lines and woe onto the naysayers there lot is mediocrity! Arkady excluded lol

Meaning no offense to our brothers and sisters across the pond.... if I recall correctly we had discussions early on in this that we might encounter a few "speed bumps" such as this.  I use the term "speed bump" in lieu of "barrier" as we tend to be stubborn over here on this side of the waters, and hate being told "you can't".  The impossible just takes a bit more time and a different approach perhaps.  Russell is sharpening his cramp-ons, and I'm sure if we put our heads together we will find a way to make it happen.

They told Columbus he would sail off the edge of the planet, and although he didn't get to the Indies.... well you get the idea!

It ain't over until the fat lady sings.... Oops not a good choice of words there.... anybody know a good divorce lawyer? LOL

Pocket Em you could always give slide guitar a try just tune the strings to a chord and use a slide to find the notes no pressure on the strings is required lots of fun once you get the hang of it smile

Sounds like a warped neck or one that is losing its strength to hold the pressure of the string tension, depending on what kind of guitar it is (adjustable truss rod or not) it may require some profesional help otherwise you may have to replace it smile

Ark you may be right this time but there are other possibilities I thought of as a backups in case this first idea fails and I will wait to hear from Trax studios before I move in another direction but I cant say more till this attempt is unsuccessful I will wait for the final word before acting if necessary the same company that manufactured my first two Cd's can provide the artwork and manufacturing but there's still a mountain to climb and I'm sharpening the spurs on my boots lol so keep the faith this ain't over yet smile

henry if it works why are you asking? if you have the 2 rca inputs in your amp you could also run from your recorders line outs to the amp, whatever works for you is ok with me lol
