Im not sure if you would get a good enough signal from the headphone "out" jack(socket) to the amp, more normal would be the left and right line"outs" useing a Y chord (2 rca jacks to a mono 1/8 inch jack and use a female 1/8 " to 1/4 inch guitar jack adapter and plug it in the amp smile

This is a report on where I am with this proposed project,I spoke with the owner of Trax Studios where I am recording my CD about this idea and he presented me with a number of problems we are likely going to have to face for this to happen.
1. The engineers in the studio are going to have to agree to provide there time and talents for free, even if in the future this CD set makes money for charity and some of it will be used to compensate them for there time and efforts they will have to wait as will the graphic artists and everyone connected with the production and distribution of this project and the reality is there are few who will agree to do this beyond all the generous individual composers on Chordie who have freely donated there time and abilities.
2.OK lets assume for a moment that everyone will defer till a later date to be compensated and the songs are mixed and the artwork and distribution is set and this bird is ready to liftoff there will still need to be in place a financial institution and a foundation with a fiduciary agent to distribute the proceeds to the various charities we select(someone to pass out the money) and quite frankly I am in uncharted waters here,my best guess would be something like the Tiger Woods Foundation or a similar reputable charitable organization or someone like Geldof,Willy Nelson who have raised funds in the past successfully, contact would have to be established with them someway to assume this responsibility.
3.lastly,if none of these seeds sprout and take root I just want to say a big Thanks to everyone who offered there compositions or agreed to help it was a humane gesture and God bless you for it smile

numri a C harmonica sounds good if your playing the blues but instead of blowing out you draw the air in and your brother playes in the key of G major using the chords G C D B Am and Em, if your just mostly blowing out use the chords C F G Am Dm and you can also use a E major, they also make chromatic harmonicas the ones with the button you push to change the notes 1/2 step up or down the word chromatic means half steps smile

The song "hey Joe" by Jimmy hendricks follows the cycle of fifths the changes are E A D G and back to E  for the whole song! smile

Jerome some can, it just depends on if you can hear the new tunnings in your head, one of the things I like to do is while im playing is tune the strings to a major or minor 7th and use a slide it sounds cool and as long as your up on theory changing back is no problem smile

Mine are the same size but I think thru the years of playing my fretting hand is able to stretch and reach any chord like a 5 fret Fmaj7 and I dont really have large hands its just because of  repeated practice I think most can do so also, some alas never smile

Most of the experienced musicians dont need two guitars they can retune a E string up one interval from D to E without pausing and in most cases while there soloing I like to do this as an effect smile

Phill I was referring to both, we are in the process of transferring data(tracks)from my BR-8 to there Pro tools equipment about 22 original songs of mine and we will be discussing the Chordie Project as the owner who wishes to publish my music and promote it is interested in this global collaboration,at present there are only around 11 songs nominated we need at least 24 to make a 2 CD package which will include artwork for the cover designs as well as distribution and the proceeds will be donated to yet to be determined charities minus some for the studio time and other expenses but I estimate over 90% of the proceeds from sales which include digital downloads for IPods will be given to these charities and when the time comes to gather up the songs (one track at a time for mixing purposes) I will inform the participating members as we will need a bio of each and a photo for promotional use both for the Cd's and for the artists benefit, keep in mind this will take time because its a big project and must be done right the first time I will keep everyone posted when I have more information to give,we have a few cold days coming in the next few days but next week it will be in the 40 degree range and I'm looking forward to getting out of my crib and going a few places so take care my friend and we will chat when we both have a few moments smile

Hello Shaneluck and a big welcome to Chordie, regarding recording programs there are a couple of freeware music editing programs the two best are "Audacity and Reaper"Reaper is not totally free as they have a beg screen that comes on for a few seconds after 30 days and reminds you to give a little money to the designer (i see nothing wrong with this) and altho I have this program I would recomend two members Riddler and Fatstrings (Randy and Scott) to guide you on useing this software, my recomendation is the Audacity freeware program its user friendly and I have free video tutorials on how to use it available by clicking on the mediafire link at the bottom of this post and it will take you to a list of folders, choose "Audacity" and download numbers 1 thru four one at a time, these videos will show you what kind of chords you will need and how to get going recording and there free also so any questions feel free to ask smile

Thanks for the information Alan, I am supposed to wear hearing aids but because the frequencies of sound they amplified irritated me I opted not to wear them, but if these new inovations can adjust to filter out these annoyances I will look into the possibility of wearing them again since it wont cost me anything and the audiologist is a very attractive woman I may make an appointment or two smile

Hi Phill I aint heard from you in a spell my sessions are going well i did one saturday and Im slated for another later next week, the best way to discribe 6/4 time is the song "take it to the limit" by the Eagles its counted as 123456 and the beat falls on 2 and 6 but not every measure the next 4 bars it could fall on 3 and 6 but its concidered waltz time and keep up the good work on your songs im a fan smile

Pix I cant see the reason for a capo unless its for the reasons you mention lol and I would keep it in first posistion open chords with a Bm( x24433) barr chord, its easier and flows nice smile

Guitarpix wrote:

Thanks Russ, I'll give that a go as soon as I get home! Standard tunning so no capo correct? If so I should be able to capo on second and transpose the chords to get the right timber..Right? I only ask because I know he's capoed on the second in the vid... Unless he tuned down a step then capoed for standard?? Some of those musicians love to do stuff like that just to screw with me  lol Thanks for the help! -Pix

Thanks Wayne, I forgot to mention theres a Dsus4th in the beginning and later on that can be played as xx0233 and its just a 1st posistion D and add the 4th finger on the third fret, for a fuller sound you can use drop D but I like the sound of the open G chord with the root on the 6th string smile

Hey Russ,Good Job, I'm gonna head over to the site and play along later. I wish I had the lyrics so I could put it all together,I guess I'll have to listen to it and write them down.
I think of my dad every time I listen to a song and figure it out,I can still see him playing 45's over and over till he had songs figured out,our computerized world has made things much simpler but has changed the learning curve also.

I watched the vid, nice song I played along with it, and the song revolves around these chords in D major consisting of D G A and Bm and the tunning is standard smile
