I have a Roland 2100 and a small Yamaha, but I don't read music. I took lesons from an old time jazz player. Just lead sheets and cords

After we learned a song we'd make up a lead sheet w/ just the cords and maybe the stanza count and set it on the floor. You can put a lot of tunes on one or two sheets of paer w/ 16 point type

Does anyone know what this cord is. I've seen it several times. It might be a European notation. It's not an Em I'm pretty sure of that.

One of the Chordie moderators posted this
Position 1 - The most downward position activates the bridge pick-up
Position 2 - activates the bridge and middle pick-ups
Position 3 - middle pick-up only
Position 4 - neck and middle pick-up
Position 5 - neck pick-up only

Hope this helps

Hi bs, no pun intended, I almost bought a mandolin awhile back. I was smitten w/ Nicklecreek. As for some easy mandolin I think the band Sugarland is a good place to start. PS I'm in Bloomsburg

Thanks Top I've never heard of Jps, my ignorance. I'm giveing the nanos a try and so far so good. I like the improved bottom end over the Martins

Hi Ast I've been useing Martin meds and haven't been happy w/ them. I just put on a set of Elixer nano lights (turns out they are the same gage as the Martin mediuns) they were $16.00 and are suppose to last 3-5 times longer, so far so good

Playing a lot more thanks to Cordie!!!

Hi Dave I live in Bloomsburg, which is probably too far away. But my daughter's boyfriend lives in Philly and he has some great chops. If you want to Email me your phone number I'll call him to see if you two can hook-up! ghlcms1@hotmail.com

Thanks bad, I already knew that one.
