It's still a million times better than I could do.  Thank you again.

I remember seeing this post a few weeks ago and meaning to come back in here to listen and comment.  I'm so glad it's still here, and you didn't remove the recording.  smile  That's such a beautiful song, and tends to make me cry... thinking about that whole, what if Heaven is there and do little kids grow up or just stay little and would they be living a whole different life like some other dimension and even remember us?  Well, anyway, that's what I hear when I listen to this song.  It is a DIFFICULT song to play.  There's no way I could do it justice!  I think you've done it quite well.

If you have been practicing it since this was posted, I'd love to hear a new recording all polished up!  smile

it has been awhile since I had learned to play that one, I learned  it after my bother passed away (man time flies) almost 20 years ago now . it used to get to me when I played it. had not played it in some time , tried a couple of times to learn to sing it but it just never seemed to sound right to me so I gave upon that. that was recorded a while I was at work on my travel guitar , so looks like I will be doing some practicing and redoing on it on my Taylor and see if that makes a difference.

ok test driving the new chordie and you tube all in one post.  I put together a video for my song Johnny awhile back but didn't have any way to post it. just signed for you tube  so lets see how this works out.

Re: oil field trash

Another excellent piece of story telling through song. I cant wait for the lyrics to be writen up as I am not sure  of  what a couple of the words were, as they are ones I am not familiar with but I understood and enjoyed the whole song.

ords and words later ... maybe...

here ya go Peatle J. I going to say its the bad recording on my lap top here at work and not my Texas drawl for the reason you cant understand all the words.
for any one else not from the south a few definitions

oil field trash - person who makes their living working in the oil field
dooly - 3\4 ton to 1 ton pick up truck with  dual wheels on the rear axle
side by side -  2 to 4 seat all terrain vehicle usually pimped out with large  tires and stereo systems both of which are way to big, but hey cool as s**t
double wide - one big ass mobile home. two singles are slapped together and bam red neck mansion
ole lady -  wife ,girl friend, common law, the person who gets half of what's left
mill -  generally in the south means a paper or lumber mill easy to find just follow the smell

just three chords E7, A7, B7

well im staring at the bottom
the bottom of an empty glass
and im sitting on a bar stool
scratching my unemployed ass

well their cleaning house
and their taking out the oil field trash

well the oil field was booming
so I quit my job at the mill
I was living large
singing drill baby drill

but along came the crash
and now their taking out the oil field trash

well the good times were rolling
when the oil hit a hundred and ten
I was spending my money
like I thought it would never end

but along came the crash
now their taking out the oil field trash

well I lost my dooly,
I lost my side by side
and the ole lady left me
when they took my double wide

because their cleaning house
and their taking out the oil field trash

that's the end of my story
its sad but true
well I could have been a rich man
with all the money I blew

but along the crash
and now their taking out the oil field trash

yea their cleaning house
and their taking out the oil field trash

good stuff

the C and G chords are not regular chords and I did not see them on the chord chart not sure what to call them

G             C
x  3       x   3
x  3       x   3
x           x
x           x   2
x  2       x   3
x  3       x

any way this is another one  I found in my note book from awhile back that was not completed. dusted it off added a few lines and here you go let me know what you think

(C)                  (G)
I see it written    on your face
(D)                                 (C)       (G)
the tears you've cried they leave a trace
(C)                       (G)
loneliness I cannot   comprehend
(D)                               (C)      (G)
the tears I see could this be the end

now your nights are filled with emptiness
you needed strength I did not possess
so you sit and wonder what went wrong
while I pour my heart out in a song

(Em)         (A)     (D)           (G)
you go your way  and ill go mine
(Em)             (A)                    (D)
and all these tears we'll leave behind
(G)           (A)         (D)       (G)
what a wonderful waste of time
(Em)                 (A)            (D)
you go your way and ill go mine
(G)                    (A)            (D)
you go your way and ill go mine

you watch and waiting for the storm to pass
how many times will this be the last
it finally comes the day you realize
it time to end all the long goodbyes

now I'm missing your sweet caress
the price I pay for sins I wont confess
an angels broken wing did not deter
you gave me love I did not deserve

(Em)         (A)     (D)           (G)
you go your way  and ill go mine
(Em)             (A)                    (D)
and all these tears we'll leave behind
(G)           (A)         (D)       (G)
what a wonderful waste of time
(Em)                 (A)            (D)
you go your way and ill go mine
(G)                    (A)            (D)
you go your way and ill go mine

Just had a listen to Moscow Mule, great rhythm to it and tells a story, great piece of work. I may be moving off thread a little here but I let things run. The next tune up was RESCUED.  Only one word to describe that. Stunning,  in my humble opinion an absolute classic. Mojo you are such a talented artist. Ps. Whats in a Moscow mule?

keep it real
I am told it is vodka and ginger beer, I do remember it was pretty tasty. like I said ive  only drank them on one occasion.
I truly appreciate your humble opinion. thanks for the compliment.
