Nice job BGD..  and cool to put a face with the name..
Also agree with you about barre chords...  learned them years ago but use them every time I play..  very handy.

Hi All..  Been playing guitar for many years.. as of late, I've been having problems with really sore fingers after playing a gig.  I have callouses and all so it isn't that.  I'm just not sure why this has become an issue now.  I've had my guitar set up, the action seems to be okay..  just seems when I play a gig..  soreness.  It goes away after a day but its a drag when I have a couple of gigs in a row.  Just wondering if others have had this situation..  BTW - my primary guitar is a Martin HD28.. I'm using Elixer lights..   Thanks.  Deb

Two gigs - tonight at the American Legion in Laurel, MD..  and tomorrow..  same place but for a different occasion.. a benefit.   tonight, an acoustic trio but saturday night we'll be doing a full band.  Now that's some fun...

I have to weigh in again with Elton John's "Your Song"..  really like Sir Elton but I have to say, back in the day he was awesome..  that Madman Across the Water album..  brilliant.

Simply love it..  I try to play everyday.

Congrats on your new Taylor..  I understand what you mean about the Martin...  love my HD28 but after a few hours of playing at a gig..  or if I have a couple of gigs in a row..  it really wears on my fingers..  I've been playing for many years, have great callouses but still they are sore..  one of my bandmates sings the praises of Taylors..  I'll have to give it a whirl..  they are gorgeous guitars..  enjoy!

Very tough question indeed..  for today, my favorite is I'll Follow the Sun.  Great tune, awesome harmonies..  love it.  Ask tomorrow..  hmmm.  Almost need to ask what song off of a particular album..  even that would be tough..

Currently in my CD player ..  The Black Lillies..  yes, I do a couple of their tunes with my band.  Give 'em a listen if you haven't heard of them..  you won't be disappointed..

A beauty!  Congrats.  Can't go wrong with a Martin..  I too have one (HD28) and I'm still in love with it 6 years after purchase..   they live up to all the hype about 'em..  Enjoy.

Zurf..  must be the weekend for family jams..  I too am heading home..  Massachusetts.. for a family visit..  Which always includes a jam with my brother and his bandmates..  can't wait.  Enjoy!

Before Chordie..  I learned the majority of songs by ear.  As many of us maybe, I cannot read a note of music but of course, can read chords.  I'm actually amazed at how many tunes I had pretty much accurate when I checked them against Chordie..  but.. thank goodness for this site..  love it.   Deb

Interesting and quite true..  speaking as a female guitar player I can say I learned to play guitar cause I thought it was really cool - honestly, one of the best things I ever did.  As I tell my  13 year old nephew..  a video game never got anyone a date!  Keep strumming..

Beatles.. hands down.

Just back from a trip home ( Massachusetts ) and one of the highlights for me was I got to jam with the young blues guitarist - Quinn Sullivan.  My family knows his family, etc..  If you don't know about Quinn..  google him.  12 years old and plays the blues like he's lived 'em  ..  JoeyJoeyJoey.. I know you must have heard of Quinn..
This young man is already on the move opening for Buddy Guy quite frequently..  Check him out..  you won't be disappointed.

Agree with you Cam...  Grandma got run over...   too dumb..  I like the traditional stuff myself..   oh, and that one with the barking dogs..  jingle bells maybe?  Not only dumb but really annoying.

Right you are Zurf..  and it isn't the first time..  one time it was my garage that got broken into..  they stole a tractor lawn mower.  There's a song in there somewhere.
Nice living in the "country" but sometimes no one's around to keep an eye out..

Z...  hope the items find their way back somehow..  Some low-lifes broke into my house not so long ago and stole, amoung other things, a Squier "strat" and amp.. that they had to bring up from the basement yet left behind my Martin HD28.. sitting right out there..  don't get me wrong - I am so grateful they left it.. just no clue I guess.  Nothing worse than coming home and finding a situation like that..  the police went into the house with their guns drawn.. no one in there thankfully.    Sadly, didn't get anything back..  Can't have enough security I guess..

From looking at the pics that were posted from the one this past summer.. definitely looks like a blast.  I was looking for the name of the campground to check it out...  can't seem to find it... maybe Zurf you could post that again..  living outside of DC..  this could happen..   love jammin' with good people.
