yes i tried useing some of the new pluggins the distortion didnt really distort at all so I dont know I use the effects in my digital recorder and just forget the effects with the ecception of a few like equalization and a few more but overall the audacity program works well enough in conjunction with my 8 track smile

I live in Wisconsin too! Fall is probably the most beautiful time of year around here. I live right next to the river so in the fall I can get some great pics of the leaves turning around the river. smile

Headcase I wish you a quick recovery back to health, and I would consult an attorney if you haven't already done so before replying to any correspondence from Bush Gardens.

Your wish is my command! I will title it "Amnesty" and it will be in the key of Eb lol (just kidding) as you wish, in "D" with All open chords and I will request some assistance from the recording forum network for the keyboard and bass tracks (my keyboard is kaput)from the signup roster and compose the lyrics and chord changes this week smile

Evil B Chord Amnesty!!!!  My life has just improved tremendously!

OK, so Russell are you going to write a new song as a follow up to Zurf and the Evil B titled B Chord Amnesty.  If so, I recommend writing it in D with all open chords.  :-)

Geo I have lived on the east coast and Hawaii,Alaska, just about everywhere in the continental U.S and Wisconsin to me is the most beautiful of them all. There's something about the seasonal changes that seem to affect your mood.Winter in Wisconsin can be really brutal, cold and up to your waist in snow but it is a time for getting acquainted with some home studies like music or maybe taking a few courses, reading ect.. but there are some who love winter for skiing or snowmobiling, ice skating and there is a lot of outdoor activity like ice fishing, but spring is the promise of new life,I remember a line from a song I wrote "seasons keep changing right before your eyes, casually amazing but unnoticed in the night" this about sums it up and autumn is the most spectacular of them all its where nature gets to show off its artistry, aah life is great smile

You have a very difficult hurdle to get over and only you know the limitations of what you can or cant do,there are other options like slide guitar where you could lay the guitar on your lap and tune the guitar to a chord it might take some getting used to but with time and practice you can pick out melodies I say this because that's the way I learned how to play slide guitar and there are several different tunings you can use but I hope you find a way to play the guitar the way you want, maybe someone can offer a suggestion good luck with it smile

Zurf glad you still like "a few to many" I still keep it on youtube for sentimental reasons and regarding the evil B chord substituting a B7 is fine, music is not an exact science and many songs are left to interpretation so play it any way that you can. I grant you mutant amnesty "long live the mutants" lol

It isn't possible for mere mortals.  That chord is for mutants only.  I always substitute B7 and call it an arrangement.

Thats called cheating , and not allowed. Sit on the naughty step .

I'll take my time on the naughty step, but I'm still going to 'arrange.'  Russell Harding (our own original Chordian Mutant) taught me the trick he mentioned here in an e-mail.  It's nifty, but still doesn't work for me.  Another fellow tried to get me to bridge all three strings with my ring finger in a 'double barre.'  I punched him straightaway.  He had it coming, don't you think?

It's Russell's song "A Few To Many" that I started using the B7 on and found that it works pretty well in most circumstances.  Still love that song Russell!  And I use the open fingering for B7, none of this switching a barre chord for another barre chord garbage.  If I can't go to an open chord, it's just not worth playing.  Except F and F#m shaped chords.  I'm finally getting those.  The A shape barre chords are unfair, unwise, unnatural, and wholly unlikely.  They are, flat-out, evil.

Try substituting your 4th finger for your 3rd on the second fret C bar posistion it works for me but its only the way I play it because it feels stronger and my fingers dont hurt from pushing down and stretching smile

Its kinda like disciplined letting it all hang out that's the way I would describe it and if you have to think about what lead your gonna play next it will sound to mechanical, soloing to me is like painting a picture I close my eyes and let it fly eccept on lead solos that are arranged.

Ah, cheers for clearing that up Russell, I think I got completely the wrong end of the stick..I think I actually ended up grabbing a stick insect rather than the intended stick which leaves me in a sticky situation...

Anyway

I thought this was kind of you guys teaching the new kids like myself a bit about playing lead via shared media - I'm completely misguided, sorry mate lol

Sounds good all the same though you guys, keep up the good work

Wibble wecome aboard we are just compiling a lists for each of the instruments right now so you came in on the ground floor so to speak but we already have compleated several projects in the test phases of this recording concept and they turrned out very well to fill you in this is what you will need to add tracks, what we are useing is free music editing programs and each one of us has a offsite account with mediafire its a free service for uploading mp3's or videos for other members to download and add there parts to the songs or upload to when your finnished with it kind of like a cyber "post office" that stores files and the music editing program of choice is "Audacity" its free and easy to use and I have several video tutorials on how to get started with it on my mediafire site (the links at the bottom of my post) and there are several members who can walk you through the steps to download and start useing it including myself so again your welcome as a new member of chordie's recording network smile russell
