Wow Amy! So tragic. That's one of those things you can't ever let go of. Happy place is better, dark places lead to, well, dark things. Very few of us will ever understand what you've been thru, but all of us can offer our sympathy and support.
3 years old isn't that old Pete. Mine is 6 or 7. I have upgraded some stuff tho. I would suggest buying a sound card and installing it. It's easy to find an all around computer, but once you start looking in to specifics it gets harder to get what you want. I can' recommend what to look for as I am challenged in that area.
I commend you sir. The world lacks generosity.
Did you put a little away for the trout's college fund?
Found this ad on my local Craigslist:
http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/msg/3199395337.html
The question I have is, how does a scalloped neck give the guitar a sharper sound, as the ad states?
I hear ya Zurf but it's our local paper that gets me. I have been interviewed by them a few times in the past handful of years and more times than not I am misquoted. I read them and thought, I didn't say that. How hard is it to write down what someone says and have it printed?
Southern California traffic. There is no reason we should have stop and go on the freeway. Everyone gets on, gets up to speed, and drives. I think that's pretty simple. But that's not how it works. Just blows my mind. Craig Shoemaker (a fav comedian of mine) has a line about being stuck on the 405 for an hour because there was a cup in the road. So sad, but true. It doesn't take much to ruin our freeway driving. I'm sure you've seen a tow truck on the side of the road before, so there's no need to slow down to lookey loo at it. Keep moving!!!!
You can't be that newb Dean. I'm 4 years in and I can't listen to a song and tell the difference between a strum change or a chord change.
Good for you!!!!
People who always think that someone else is the problem. I have friends like this. I just want to tell them, "maybe it's you."
Neighbors who like to party waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay after curfew so I have to go tell them to quiet down. I had to deal with this for a couple years. Gets me heated just thinking about it. It's midnight, turn your crap music off and stop laughing at the top of your lungs. Move your dumb ass inside. Urghhhhhhhhhh!!!! A few times the guy told me that the party wouldn't start until 10 pm because his homies work graveyard. How does that make sense to you fool?
People who smack when they eat. Drives me bonkers!
LOL Topdown!!!!!
I think you should have it checked anyway just to make sure their isn't some underlying problem that could get worse. Then if you choose not to get it fixed, that's your decision. Sounds to me like old age Joey.
Thanks for answering. So how do you chose and use a strumming pattern? Lets say given the example above, lets say you use 1/8 pattern of D - DU - UDU. Do you just break this in half?
That's a good place to start. Like Roger said, you need to be familiar with the song. Typically if each chord is 1 measure then your strum would coincide with that.
Example: Take your D DU UDU that you had. Assuming that it is a 4/4 song, your strum would count, 1 2& &4&.
D DU UDU
So that strum would be a full measure. Strum this pattern once thru for each chord.
Hope that makes sense.
Looks like we all have our lists so here's a few of mine:
People who say they did stuff to fix up their houses when all they did was write a check. They didn't DO any of it, they had it done.
People who try to tell me how to do what they hired me to do. If you now how to do it then why am I here? You want me to do it so leave me alone and let me do my job.
At a crowded place (amusement park, mall) people stop dead in their tracks right in front of you. My wife does this and it drives me insane. Get out of other people's way!
DJ, in your theory you have one too many O's in the first word. ![]()
Welcome to the forums Workout!!!!
I commend you for taking on the task of teaching ones so young. That's a little too young for me to sit down with.
+1 on Justinguitar. While it may not be a children's course, he starts off with the basics as any other would. Just take it slow with the youngsters.
Good luck!!!!
I think most of us believe in the power of music. Be it healing, brain development, or something else. Funny, as I started reading the article I thought of learning diff languages. As we all know, music is another language, if you read it that is. And learning to play an instrument stimulates the brain to the nth degree. Just another article to back up the fact that music should not be cut from schools.
That's good news. Even if it just a lateral move, at least you have a job. Somebody's looking out for ya.
Thurs?!?! We can't wait 'til Thurs!!! This isn't a cliffhanger episode in some tv series. Inquiring minds want to know.
Glad you got the yes you were looking for.
Good luck prayers to you!!!!!
Contradiction in itself, I know.
Regardless of what it was like to work for the folks, my camper is going strong. I am entertained by one thing - the emergency escape notices. The thing is tented plywood held together with staples, velcro, bungee cords, and glue. If someone has to be told how to get out of it in an emergency it must not be much of an emergency!

Coleman was a diff division in another location. I was a drafter for Fleetwood so I didn't actually build them, just drew plans on a computer. If you notice all the little warning labels, realize they are there because someone did what they are telling you not to do.
Sounds like you had fun despite the injuries. Funny how most vacations aren't really "vacations". They're chock full of things to see and do so you get caught up in those and don't get a chance to relax. But I'm sure it beat the heck out of being at work.
Don't get me started on Fleetwood! I used to work in the travel trailer division about 12 years ago.
Lots of great advice in there DJ. All guitar virgins should be given this type of advice.
In the stickies there is a capo conversion chart you can reference in the future.
ONLY a 2 1/2 hour drive?!?!?! Closer than you, but still a long drive.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, 6 strings give me enough trouble, I can't imagine adding 6 more.
Funny that her promise has been in the back of you mind for so long.
Cool stuff. I agree with Jerome, he is a professor.
I have a Behringer ACX450. I just use it a t home. I've never sat down with other acoustic amps and compared, but I do like the Behringer.
