Nela I have a 70's 12er here and an 80's built one in the UK both are standard tuned and the necks are absolutely true and the action very low. Barre chord up the fretboard are no problem on either of them and neither is an expensive, well known made. In my opinion any 12er that has to be tuned down is poorly designed and made.

Yo try and clarify the confusion here. The normal 12er string configuration is that, on a down stroke,  you play the thinner octave string before the normally tuned one. Rickenbacker reversed that and you play the normal low E before the octave higher one.

It was one heck of a swim but at that time of year the water was not too cold lol

Well worth the effort of getting there is was great fun and Chordians are fantastic people.

She is not as easy to play as my other 12ers. The neck is narrower and deeper that I am used to also with having the heaver string first it is easy to miss playing the lighter one. The narrow neck and string position also makes finger picking difficult.

He has said he will loan it to me for a few days next week so I can familiarise myself with her.

OK I will ditch the shirt..... big_smile

...but I did enquire as to how you were and I was not told that you were there!!!!

I was told that you were looking after her well though big_smile

Roger

I have only ever had italics for the chorus. i.e. {soc} before the chorus and {eoc} ant the end will give an indented and italic section.

Amy and Jim's hospitality is World Renowned! (even as far as Southern Portugal!)..... Home Baked Cookies, dangerous Bonfires, and Burnt Cow.

One to put on the "bucket list" for sure!

I can vouch for that. Well worth the travel from the Algarve to visit Amy, Jim, Steph and my special little pal, Katie. (Even if she does think I talk funny lol)

I have just checked his profile and found that although his last post was in January he was on site 25th March.

Roger

Hi Kim and welcome,

Although I am primarily a guitarist I do possess, teach and play 3 ukuleles (two baritone and one tenor). The uke is a fun instrument and I do play in a ukulele band so I am looking forward to seeing/hearing some recordings from you.

First step:       Get a new guitar
Second step:  Get two new hats
Third step:      Set yourself a challenge
Fourth step:    Allocate time daily for practice
Fifth Step:        Adhere to allocated times
Sixth step:        Keep your Chordie friends posted of progress

I intended 12 step but ran out of ideas and only made it half way lol

That's a great innovation...so in every case the chord and all extensions would be in the regular script and superscript is reserved for beats...what about chords that change on an "and" or an "uh"?

If you are good enough to do that then you know how to, and when to, so do not need it writing down lol

I do not think using C with a superscript 3.5; F with a superscript 0.5; G with a superscript 4 would work very well.

OK there are some limitations but the only way to show everything would be to write a full music score.

With my notation Superscripts are only for beats. Other chords are written C7, Csus, Cmaj7, Csus2, so I use normal script here, upper case for the chord, and lower case for the extensions and I always use bold print to be seen easier.

I started doing this years ago and so I have hundreds of songs written this way.
