I just went to the local pawn shop and picked up an Ibanez GiO w/ a coffin case. I paid $200.00 for it and I was wondering if that was a good value purchase. I replaced the strings and cleaned it up. I'm now looking for an practices amp that I can plug earphones into. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. PEACE

Probably schould take it to a guitar shop, so when it gets messed up you can blame them.

If all else fails you an tune the guitar down a 1/2 or whole step and play it that way or us a capo. Works for me.

I went out in the blizzard to my local guitar merchant and bought 3 Dunlop heavy medium gage thumb picks, he probably thought I was nuts, but oh well. I tried fieling them down. It turned out to be a bust. They felt heavy and uncontrolable. So I put some clear finger nail polish on my thumb. Three layers were definetly too thick. Any input is welcomed.

Hi all, I just has this brain storm about using a thumb pick. I finger pick and thumb strum, but for the life of me using a pick leaves a lot to be desired. I can't seem to find a comfortable grip or position. I was thinking about trying a thumb pick, but I'd have to cut it down so it wasn't so big. Any imput on this?

Hi all I just bought a Martin DX1, which I'm pleased w/, there is a strap button on the bottom and none on the top. I'd hate to add a button at the base of the fretboard, and deatroy the character of the guitar. But I'm afraid that if I tie the strap to the top of the fretboard I might cause damage by putting pressure sideways on the fretboard.Any input?

I saw a Radiohead video and they were waxing the strings any input on this. I have been using lemon oil on the fretboard. This is a new guitar Martin DX1, which is the last guitar I'll get. My wife won't let me have an eletrical guitar, because that means buying an amp and then some pedales and then a bigger amp and then another band and them band practicus and then a bigger amp and then egos break-up the band. LOL been there done that!!
