This is great work and nice choice of woods. I worked for a long time setting up a work area and building my first classical guitar and after a year is is still not playable. Next time I will buy my sound boards from a builder I know. He can tap a board and know if it right or wrong. Mine looks good and sound terrible. I even tried mine with unidirectional mikes and the terrible sound was louder and not better.

Re: LaBella Strings (19 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I ordered several more sets of LaBella Strings 2001 Medium Tension Classical Guitar Strings. These are fresh stock and the result is much better. Two days to stretch and they are playable and sound much better than the others I received. They are a bit longer than the Pro Arte strings and so far they sound very good and are mellow. I played with them for two hours before I had to tune again. If the next set is as good I will order a year supply.

I have always liked CCR and thank you for including them. Trout Season was a nice choice and enjoyed listening to him. Question is he blind or is it just the type of sun glasses he wears?

For a good tenor take a look at an Ibanez Performance PFT2-NT. Where your favorite music store should have one here is just one link for it: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez/Perf … -Guitar.gc

Re: Upgrage Ukulele (10 replies, posted in Other string instruments)
I had to teach of friend of mine small child. I started her good uke, then as she grew to a tenor guitar, then to a 3/4 size guitar, and again as she grew a full size guitar. Even as a small child she worked harder than I first thought she would. The uke she started on was a rather expensive one and the sound of it was the best I have heard. It was easy to turn and hard good volume. It was a Luna brand and she still has it in a very small case.

Andrés Segovia in his prime. He is considered as the grandfather of modern classical guitar. He worked years to be as perfect as possible.

Re: LaBella Strings (19 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Years ago I tried a set of LabBella Folk Singer strings and they were good strings. The bass were brass color and I cut the end off, and the treble strings were black. I took the ball off the treble strings and left the knot. They lasted and were good strings. The inside of the bass strings were nylon the same as all classical strings.

Re: LaBella Strings (19 replies, posted in Acoustic)
One final thought. After playing and listening to both guitars with the strings both playable, the guitar with the D'Addario EJ45 strings was more well balanced and took less pressure to play than the ones with LaBella 2001 strings. LaBella had strong treble strings but the longer I played it the bass strings started to sound almost muted. So in truth the D'Addario Pro Arte EJ45 strings are the best string. Last time I ordered them I bought 20 each 3 packs. It is close to time to place another order for them.

Re: LaBella Strings (19 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I have changed strings on two identical guitars, one with LaBella strings, and one with D'Addario EJ45. The La Bella strings were playable the next day. The D'Addario EJ45 still stretching. Both strings are normal tension and the price of the strings is very close.

Re: Testerday at Guitar Center (4 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Doug we had a locally owned guitar store for years. It is where I bought my first classical guitar. He was open until he got to old to keep it open and his son kept it open. That lasted a year and the store was not the same, so they closed.
The closest Guitar Center is an hour away. I went there one time and they did not have in stock what I wanted. I looked around for some time. I then went to the better classical guitars and played two of them in a "special room" and he went with me there. The guitars were not at all in turn r and I turned one of them by ear. When I played Classical Gas his comment was "I did not actually think you played." That is when I left.
I still order on line from the Guitar Center warehouse. Because of how much I have bought I get a very good discount that I can not buy from any one else and get the price at any other store. I do not like the store I visited but the warehouse ships very quickly and I list their product number and so far there has been not a single mistake.

Re: Are There Any Beethoven Scholars Here? (11 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
I play lots of Beethoven on classical guitar so I know what I need to to play. I have read several books on him including one that said Beethoven was not one but 3 people. That was the worst of the group I have read. I know Strummerboy Bill has read and studied him. He wrote some gorgeous music and at the time it was not written for classical guitar. We have adapted to playing his music. What most books Ihave read say is he head the music in his head before he wrote it down. I know from reading some music as I learn to play it , I know as I do if it is right or not. Exact timing and note play without any muted sounds, sometimes is harder than other times. That is why the older I get the more I practice.

Do Any of you use LaBella stings? They make electric and acoustic strings and quite a few classical stings.
I have used D'Addario EJ45 Pro-Arte for a very long time. Recently because of some very good reviews I ordered some LaBella 2001 Medium Tension Classical Guitar Strings. I have to admit these sound better on the same guitars and break in quicker. I changed another of the same model guitar with the D'Addario EJ45 Pro-Arte and changed both on the same day. It will be a good test which feel and sound better as they age.

Re: Excellent Cover Bands (42 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
They were great on Bohemian Rhapsody and that is not an easy song to sing. Camille & Kennerly Kitt were very good on harps. I know of one guy that plays a harp and he worked years before you could tell what song he played. If memory serves me I thinks he said he paid 10 grand US dollars for it and lessons cost $100 and hour. And type guitar is much better buy and if you take guitar lessons they are still much more reasonable.
