I do not use Facebook either. I know one lady who posts everything including when she will be taking a bubble bath, and when she will be away from home. Well others were reading too. Someone was watching her baths from a window. And while she was away from home she was robbed. Neither was ever caught. So was it Facebook or just being stupid or both, was to blame. Those who live their lives on Facebook just don't have much other things to do in a day. Best lesson, just stay away.

Phill I agree and have read all of this before. I do not think any woman or wife should stay with any so called man if he ever laid finger on her. I say so called man because whether they are drunk or sober once it starts if never ends. I sat at trial not that long ago and this guy sent his wife to the hospital and while she was on the mend , he went in and beat her for being there.  We sent him away for life without possibility of parole, and the state would provide counseling to his wife for as long as she needed it. I was the foreman and it took for four hours to  be sure  he never hurt her again and it also sent a message to anyone  else in a similar situation.

Not sure what's going on now - songbook won't work with Celine Dion (okay, okay - just saying) but does with a Waifs song. Go figure!

Wait ... there's Waif songs on here???

Yes there are 12  of his songs listed .  Here is a quick link:  http://www.chordie.com/song.php/songart … index.html

Good songs and the poetry that goes with them make you think and get emotional.    TIGLJK  lets us experience both of these. It is an honor for me to be a member of Chordie  and to be able to read what he does as well as some other too.

I think most of us have known someone who has been abused. One of the nicest people I know seems to pick the same type of person in three marriages. S he has been single for a long time now and is  happy.  She now helps others that need someone to talk with about their problems.

Good words in what you wrote.

TIGLJK t the words are great and I can hear the chords in my head and like them too. Nicely done.

For most guitar work and frets included either use a good   Luthier or an experienced guitar tech. Just because you can find the the products does not mean most guitar owners would have the same experience doing their work. Guitars of any type are  expensive . Why do frets and tech work without using an expert? I

If the spammers really believe what they post they are dumber as what they post.  On another site we checked their address before they became members. It worked about 90 % of the time. That was not bad considering how many we get. The moderators do a great job getting them banned  quickly.

Try using a capo where you can adjust the pressure. Here is just one example: http://www.juststrings.com/pwv-pw-cp-02.html

This is from an instructional magazine and the same quote is in Playing Guitar for Dummies : "When playing a particular fret, remember that you don’t place your finger directly on the metal fret wire, but in between the two frets (or between the nut and first fret wire). For example, if you’re playing the fifth fret, place your finger in the square between the fourth and fifth fret wires. "

I am sorry to quote Playing Guitar for Dummies and I do not mean anything implied by that quote.

The best technique is to use your finger mid way between the frets and not close to them. It takes less pressure and once you get used it, it will become second nature. Also try washing your hands 1/2 hour before you play to remove any extra acid fro your finger tips. Are your frets stainless steel or plated?

Bill  that is an entertaining. The guitarist guitar shows a lot of wear and it still sounded great.

It sounded good and it takes a lot of confidence to post a video where others can watch.  Congratulation beamer.  Well done.

CurtRHCP  I had one guitar for 40 years  and gave to a grandson I taught how to play. It still looks new and never had a fret replaced. If you hit you notes in the center of a fret you should not have to replace them. I like ebony fret boards however the guitar that is still being used is a rose wood fret board . If you are wearing frets than watch as you play and see if you are fingering notes on top of the fret rather than in the middle between frets. Either that or are you turning your guitar too high?  What gauge string are you using? Maybe try a lighter gauge.

I know two bass players and from knowing them one after years of playing had all his frets replaced. The other one has a 30 year old 5 string bass and he has never had a fret replaced.

It is not my favorite design. t looks more like the 60's.  If it is not  Photo-shopped someone  had too much wild wood  flower.

Welcome to Chordie . For a true beginner and depending on how much you want to spend, you might consider  some Yamaha steel string guitars. Look at at FG800, or a FG830. You can always later spend more for a better guitar as you learn more.  These would have low action and would make a good inexpensive starter guitar.

This one was both good and sounded good. I noticed he was using a thumb pick and he is the first in a long time that I saw it on his thumb. Watched it twice to be sure.

Just a thought if you know the year some of these was done please think about posting too, if it is not too much trouble for you.

Tenement Funster the job all did on "The Phantom of the Opera"  is very good. A little surprised at how good it sounded. Thanks for posting it, and for the education too.

I am convinced a good guitarist can make any guitar sound good if he uses the same strings he normally uses.

TIGLJK really nicely done good and great words. When I listen to you for some reason I think about Bob Dylan and I mean that as a compliment.
