I am picking up this amp to play with in church.
http://line6.com/spideriii/30.html#specs
Does anyone know if 30W thru a 12in speaker will be loud enough to be heard over the drums?
If not I'll have to save up more until the end of the month and get the...heavier...75w unit. *OOF*
I want an amp that I can carry along with my guitar in my hands, without needing a handtruck to move it.
The 75W version is a "handtruck" type amp. I have enough stuff to carry on Sunday without worrying about throwing out a disc in my back carrying my amp too.
I could always just plug my KORG PX4D into the Mixing Board but it just sounds so....hollow...through the main speakers. And there is always that static-hiss too...I can't stand that.
TIA!

The Rondomusic guitars look good, but I think the p&p would be a bit high to the UK.
Although with the current exchange rate, it might be cheaper to buy one and have it shipped than buy a wesley!
Anyone know if the SX SST57 LPB at rondomusic is any good?
Ah ha!! So you ARE in the UK!!!
Well, since I now know that as a fact, you may want to go with the wesley guitars if you're impatient like me.
But I only say that because I'm one of the most impatient people in this world.
I couldn't possibly wait 2+ weeks for my axe to arrive. I stand by the quality of Agile Guitars but the wait would positively kill me.
EDIT: Oh, another thing about the Wesley Guitars is that you won't get quality Pick-ups or Tuners with the guitar.
It is also still unknown what wood they make their guitars from.
Good luck,

I almost bought their silverburst guitar. But they're in England and that is sooo far away.
Then I found out about ROndomusic and AGILE.
If you're stateside, you can get a much better guitar for around the same price as WESLEY.
Check them out.

I have the AL-2000 Silverburst and it's soooooooo awesome!!!

They also have a forum if you would like to check out reviews from owners and pictures too!

Yep I couldn't believe how easy/fun this one was, knowing Brian May's reputation for technical complexity. You tune down the low E to D and then you get that booming bass type intro. Then D and A makes the verses with crisp palm muted tightness (the G is x20033). The chorus works well open but if you can manage the A shape barres for the D to C shift strumming the central strings it sounds right royal.
Can anyone give me tips on other songs that work in a similar way?
Awesome, I think I've heard that song before and it ROCKED!!
I will try it out tonight.

Man, you're gonna make me cry. My bike has been down since last november and I haven't had the gumption to fix it.
I guess I'll break down and pay someone eventually, my time is too limited...

I am playing 10 times better since finding this site.
It was SO hard for me to figure out songs by ear and I didn't know any scales or chords either (Besides E-A-D-G-C).
I would be soooooo far behind the learning curve if it weren't for this site.

Schedules were pretty free compared to being an adult. Friend's schedules were also free. As I grew, space, finances, time all conspired against me and I left music for decades. I tried here and there, but it didn't work out. My wife made some teasing comments that she probably thought were just teasing but which hurt enough to interfere with my playing. I too am experiencing this.
The smallest comments seem to make me want to pick up a bat.
How do you get someone...anyone...to understand how awesome something is to you without offending them?
When I'm playing in church it bothers me too.
Maybe I'm being too sensitive?

And carrying around a 14 pound LP everywhere ain't easy, even in a soft case.
But you know what...it's worth it to be able to bust out a tune whenever I'm ready.

Don't get me wrong, but in today's world it's like there's a ton of artists all fighting over the same sound. I can turn on the radio and listen to a couple songs and none of them stand out to me... not saying that the musics not good, or the artists don't have talent it just doesn't seem like people like original music anymore. Kind of sad, but the music from this era isn't going to have hardly any legends like The Beatles, Zeppelin, BB King etc. People aren't going to look at fall out boy or Avril Lavigne and say their music was revolutionary or life changing. guess its up to our generation to change that
::kori::
Amen!!
Thats the MAIN reason that I stopped listening to the radio in 2002.
There is NOTHING original from new artists.
Heck, the older artists from the 90's are putting out better stuff that is more original than the other upcoming artists lately.
I don't know where this worthless new generation of musicians came from but they need to go back and develop their own style before coming out into the light.

I can crank out the Heavy Metal, The Hard Rock, Uh....the "in between stuff" whatever that is and even the Blues. I don't do Country, but I've heard some of my buddies produce a good twanky-tune from my Les Paul. I have no problems playing some of Van Halen's stuff, Metallica or STP on my LP. Love it or hate it...a Les Paul just can't be beat.
Personally, I think a Les Paul will leave an SG curled up in the corner...crying. But then again...it all depends on the player.
Rock on!

I was lucky in that the vibration only caused a crack in the finish which doesn't affect the sound, but the two inch crack is visable. Learned that lesson the hard way! Let your guitar warm up to room temprature...better yet, don't leave it in the car!
Ouch!! I heard a rumor about that waaaaaaaaaay back when I started playing seriously last october.
I didn't treat my yamaha guitar too well, but when I got my Les Paul I changed real quick. I take the guitar everywhere with me. I even take it into restaurants if I'm going inside for any time longer than 15 minutes and It's very hot or very cold out.
So far, Reon (My silverburst LP) and I have made it through one summer and with the winter approaching I will have to be just as careful.
By the way...I fried the battery on my Laptop by leaving it in the car in my bookbag in the dead of winter for 4 hours. Then when I got home I plugged it in and ZAP...the battery was toasted. Now it won't hold a charge at all and I can only use it if I plug it into the wall. I'll get a replacement battery for it eventually...

I have never played one.
Dm
I never heard a difference in guitars until I got my Silverburst LP.
I tried multiple types of guitars in guitar shops and never could tell a difference until I found mine.
I would go with the SG type if you don't want a guitar that is too heavy. My LP weighs about 13 pounds but for me it's worth it. Most people can only play with it for about 5 minutes before they're complaining about their back or leg or something.
Most SG guitars are a LOT lighter from what I've experienced in guitar shops.

I play "Karma Chameleon" with my friend Jamaica at work.
We ham it up on guitar lunchbreaks for the crowd and have a ball.

Play that with different patterns and speed and mix in Am Em and F and it sounds really cool.
I've got a question.
When you play notes in this scale, what are some of the notes that you play together??
Like, if you skip around...what notes sound great together that can form a song?
Thanks,
