Russell_Harding wrote:Selso good lyrics there it looks like you forgot to add the brakets to switch on the chopro thats done like this [ song ] at the beginning but with out the extra space [s--g] and at the end its [/song] this turns it off if I did it now it would turn the chopro on
I posted this one a while ago. Finally got around to recording it.
I tried the chord pro format, but I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Well they put me in a[G] cage, boys
And they[C] told me to [G]stay
Got pissed and they beat me
When I tried to[D] escape
Something so[G] unnatural
And[C] something so [G]real
Took away my freedom
[D]Couldnt pay no [G]bail
[C]I cant see the [D]sunshine anymore[G]
How many ways?
To sit and count the days
How many books
Do you think it took?
And you think I'd know better
And you think I would have tried
Now I am lost boys
Cuz they took away my pride
[C]I cant see the rain[G]
[C]I cant see the [D]sunshine anymore[G]
Rabbits good eating
Phill Williams wrote:Here's another reply to your Ode to Animals...it's called oh de animals
I had a little rabbit
She was such a pretty thing
She had big floppy ears
And her eyes were pretty pink
God was in his heaven
But a miracle he worked
`Cos I never saw the buck come round
But my rabbit she got...mated!
So not-so-long later
The stork came round to call
And left a basket full of bunnies
All white and fluffy they were all
Do I take them to the pet shop
Do I sell them on E-Bay?
Do I take them down to the canal
Weigh the bag down with a brick?
No, I was more enterprising
While I sat down for my meal
Rabbit stew is on the table
Bunny skins are on my feet.
Now wise men will always tell you
There's a meaning for every life
Rabbits go in stew
And stew goes in the wife.
Ahhhh, anyone for seconds?

Aedh wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
HAD I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet: 5
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
We used to have it in a frame at the top of our stairs. I always thought it would be difficult to set to music.
Yes! Also I think it was called Brown Penny? I had a book an ex girlfriend gave me. Tried reading it a few times but never made sense till I took the rhymeing and but them to words. I wouldnt say his poems didnt make sense to me, its just that they had more power to them when I sang them with music
William Butler Yeats never really made since to me untill I got bored and put some of his poems to simple 1-4-5's. Is that what your talking about?
Hey,thats an awesome poem! You should make it a song. Thats a hit for sure!
Had to laugh at this one. Pretty funny, Russell. What brought this one on?
That's hilarious. I cant believe people sometimes.

Any comments on the recording would be helpful, good, bad, whatever.
i dont dare post the lyrics, hope thats okay. If not just let me know
Awesome. Ive seen that movie before but never get tired of it. I just bought "In the Beginning". The little music store in my town ordered it on accident, so I got it pretty cheap. Townes is one of my all time favorites

I think if you posted this in the song request forum you might get an answer. Ive never heard the song or artist so Im of no use.
It's very much like that where I live. When i was young everyone I knew was in a gang, sold drugs, went to jail. Its a badge of honor to people in that life style. I do disagree that there is no help or hope for "theses" people. Im a good example for that. Jails not the answer. That just makes them worst. May be I should rephrase that: some need to be locked up, some just need direction and a firm push. I use my expirence to help others in the same situation I was in. Unfortantly some cant leave it behind and end up dead at 17 like my brother. Gangs and the such have always been around and will always be around. Locking them up doesnt solve the problem, it just prolongs it. As long as people are poor and oppressed, they will always look for a way out. Solve that problem and then theres no need for "gangs". I do like your song, sorry to rant. I think your from Britan? So the sitiuation may be a little different in the states. Again I do like the song
Great song, it's pretty rockin' . Not at all like your other stuff that I listen to. Well done
Hey alan,
I love the title. Ive been to alot of great places and the only thing that could have made it better was music. the last verse, or is it a chorus, kinda threw me off, but i like the way you wrapped it up. recording?

I love to fish. Just dont like taken the family with me. Its something I like to do alone. Me and my Tio used to go all the time, but since he passed not so much. Got a trip planned in May with my dad. New Mexico's got some of the best fishing in the world (personal opinion). Nothing beats getting away for awhile. I could even careless if I catch anything. I just dig the solitude.

I got a plastic Mickey Mouse guitar when I was little. 7 years old I think. Then when I was 10 I found an old aucstic in our attic. I saved my lunch money for months and got a set of strings. then a friend of mine taught me the frist few chords of come as you are, then it was on from there.
No problem. Glad to get something right for once!
It makes your guitar sound like a voilin , a sax or a pedal steel. Atleast according to the ads. Sounds more like a violin. It works using a magnetic field over yout strings and adds more sustain
I just got a mandolin to learn on. Took it out of the box got my tuner then next thing ya know I bust all 4 of my top strings. Apparently you cant use a guitar tuner to tune a mandolin? I cant tune by ear so does any one have suggestion? Do they make an electric tuner for mandolin? Or am I an idiot who did something wrong?
Here's my bit:
I guess if I had to describe myself in a poem
I guess most of the time I like being alone
It's not that I'm rude, Ive just nothing to say.
Unless it's to my kids, which is usally" Go outside and play"
I was born in Pisa, Italy but I'm not Italian
Raised in Germany, and no I'm not poutin'
I wish I was there instead of here.
I like where I live even though its not near
A beach or an ocean cuz I love to swim
But we've got good fishen' so throw your line in
Im the youngest of 8 and were spread all around
I used to have a twin but he died along time ago,now
4 sisters, 2 brothers, both fighting a war
Is this poem getting boring, if so read no more!
I started guitar,I guess, at age ten
My parents didnt' like it so I had to keep it from them
And now that I can play Hank Williams and John Prine
They say theyve supported me this whole stinking time
I guess that's enough, cuz I'm thinking about this to much
Thanks to Doc Phil, whose english brought this up
I bought me a cheap pair of clippers at Walmart. My son and I walk around shaved for most of the year. Pretty cold in the winter
Friend of mine has one. I'd say its pretty cool. Dont think I'd get one myself, though.
