I first learned Bm as my first barre chord... I was so proud of myself!
Keep trying, you'll get there. I just learned them myself.

I hated the D chord when I first started... Then I discovered the F chord...

Oh yea, and how did you think of your name Jikklop. It's fun to type because all of the letters are right next to eachother, lol, sorry, kind of random.

I copied the idea off my brother, who's name normally Dewers.

Hey,
It's true, people's personality aren't ALWAYS cultivated by what instrument they play. Seems that way though, huh?
Being a saxophonist in a band, I tend to notice these things:
Trumpets - Loud, whiney drama queens.
Drummers - Most of the time, ignorant.
Flutes/Clarinets - Quiet. Very quiet.
Saxophones - Try to be noticed, but are mostly ignored. Very cynical and some would do better as comedians.
Basses/Trombones - Again, quieter than they should be and ignored.
Violins - Loud, happy people, but still have that "strings player" feeling around them.
Cellos - Concentrate a lot.
Pianos - Perfectionists. Some (emphasis on "some") aren't very likeable.
Sorry if I offended anyone, I am a bit cynical and hard-headed.

Hey Old Doll,
Yeah, the Irish are pretty funny. My favourite comedian would have to be Dylan Moran (or Bernard Black from "Black Books")

Hey,
Yeah, well, I wanted to learn guitar when I listened to "Good Riddance" by Green Day in detail.
I still can't pick tabs but, I'll get there.

Hey,
I soprano recorder first, and that has helped me a lot, because I then learned alto saxophone, and then guitar. Now I'm trying to find online piano lessons, and from what I have have found, being able to read sheet music first really helped me.

Hey Mr. McCormick,
Thanks a lot for your suggestion! I haven't found any yet, but there are a lot of promising links.
Again, thank you so much,
Jikklop

Hey,
Like a few others I've read, I had no intention of actually joining. Then I joined so I could use the songbook feature. Then I looked around a little more. Jikklop come from the fact that you can type it with ONE HAND! 'Mazing huh? I adapted it off my brother's who's login name's normally Dewers. Same concept. I'm born Miriam, but I have happened to pick up "Rusty" and "Hobo" as nick names at school. "Rusty" because that's the brand of my school bag and I'm not so sure about "Hobo"...
Mine seems so boring compared to some others...

Hey,
I'm half Australian and half Indonesian by blood, but I live in Brisbane, and I'm 12.
Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! big_smile
Hello to all you other musicians!
I'm remotely jealous of the British, you guys have some of the best comedians around!

Hey,
Go figure, Billy Joel would be screwed over if that was a law, I mean, how many people and events did he sing about in "We Didn't Start the Fire"?

Hey,
From what I'm reading, it's sounding pretty dang good! Perhaps you can post it on here?

Hey,
I think that violinists are really cool, whether they prefer fiddling or any other style! My best friend is a violinist and she's pretty damn good at it. I wouldn't mind learning violin or cello, or something of the sort. I first learnt soprano recorder in grade one, then alto saxophone in grade three (which I am TERRIBLE at) and then I taught myself guitar this year.
My violinist friend, a celloist friend and I are thinking of playing "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Green Day, but we need free (we're only 12) sheet music for the violinist (not a fiddler tongue). Could anyone help me with finding some?
Thanks,
Jikklop

Hi, I'm a girl, but I'm 12.

Can anyone suggest a decent capo that wouldn't be too insanely expensive?
Thanks

I have a Livingstone acoustic... not that anyone knows who that is. I bought it for $70 AUD at an Aldi supermarket. Not that I'm complaining. On my pocketmoney budget I can't complain. It's a bit bright sounding, but I love it.

How 'bout Scarborough Fair? Ha, just kiddin'. tongue
A lot of these suggestions are really good, I'm kinda backing the "write-your-own" or "Catch the Wind" by Donovan.
Then again, I'm only a 12 year old girl so....
Good Luck!
