Hey TubaTooter and Ozymandias,
Those were great, I just about cracked a rib laughing at those, sad thing is, I fit the bill on most of those.
Cam
Thanks alot GuitarPix, I'll take a look at it!

I third the Micheal Kelly, they are great, also the Agile's from what I read are great as well, I competely agree with Geoaguiar! of course the Gibson's and fenders are great too! So many choices.
Cam
Topdown,
That sounds great my wife and I would love to do that, it's about time we met anyway, thanks a lot!

Hi Everyone,
Having been a member for over a year now, and hearing bits and pieces about Per, it set me to wondering about him, since we all owe him so much for his founding of this site and the work he obviously puts it to the site. I think I read today he was actually from Norway, is that correct? We know so little else about him. I was just curious about knowing more about him, does he play guitar? What kind of music? His Age, so on and so for, maybe Per himself could answer. Anyway, I'd personally like to thank him as well as the Moderaters for all their hard work and time, thanks guys!
Someone else recently had ask the question about who the first 10 members where on Chordie, without much response, so I was wondering how long everyone had been a member. I've been a member a much shorter time than a lot of members here, I've been on since March 23 2008 I think it is., How long has everyone else been a member?

Topdown,
I just read your acceptance speech into the club to my wife, she got a good laugh out of it, your a good sport for an old geezer, thanks for the laugh.

Ps...We sure would like to see a picture of the black socks, sneakers, and shorts.
Topdown, Sorry to have to be the one to break it to you, but I'd said those socks and sneakers qualify you.
Badeye, I remember the ball cards in the bicycle spokes, loved that sound, even though I still have thousands upon thousands of ball cards
Anyone's Mother use to cook with a pressure cooker, looked like something from a science fiction movie. I guess a few people still use those.
What about old cartoons"Top Cat" "Johnny Quest" "Mighty Mouse" or old TV shows like the old "Authur Smith Show" "Lost In Space" "Dialing for Dollars"
Cam
PS, This is a great thread, sure brings back memories
I remember my Dad had an old 47 studebaker, it looked like a torpedo coming down the road, then, after that he had a push button automatic Plymouth 53 model I think it was.\
GSE...There is still a gas station in the town nearest me that still pumps your gas, he's an elderly gentleman, wears a sharp uniform with a bow tie, really nice guy!
Cam
Russell, I remember 78's as well, guess I just didn't want to, or at least I rember my Dad having a few
Maybe they're in the same place that lost sock ends up, or where you lost your keys, or maybe where you can't find your wallet! I've found in life that it's always in the last place you look, funny how that happens, if we could just look there first!

Anyone remember Sinclair gasoline, Grit Newspaper, playing marbles, being able to see the Milky way on a clear night, 3 channels on a television"if you lived in the right place and had a good antenna" records on a 45 speed, dial up phones with the hole for your fingers, and party lines for the phone, ringer type washing machines. no neighbors! when kids said yes Maam and no Maam and Thank You. getting paddled in school, when kids could look up to ball players as role models.. I could keep going but you get the point, I'm old enough to be a geezer.

Just the other day, whilst workin in the yard, I happened up a new way of pick holding wit out that thar darn thing slippin all around your fangers. I wus pickin up limbs out in the yard when I grabbed holdt of a pine limb that had sap all over the dang thang. Well, that set me to thankin...hmmmm..so I go on into the house and grab up my pick and getar and shore enuff the dang thang stayed right thar in my fangers just like I wanted it to, so living hear in the South, whar money is short, and times being hard as a is, it just goes to show you, sometime you ain't got to look no futher than your own back yard to lifes little problems, if'n I's wus to come up wit some more ideas Ima be shore an postem hear on Chordie.

Doug_Smith,
I wish the people I worked with would only use it for 20 minutes, I've seen them on it texting for 2 hours straight, laughing out loud, ignoring work altogether, holding people up. I think texting is fine, really I do, but in the work place, at least at my job, people abuse it, it's personal calls, texting, nothing business related, it get's on my nerves!
Cam
Thanks for the link Kap54,
That kids got talent alright, I couldn't believe the control he has over his voice at such a young age, amazing!
Cam
Well I also had that experience too! I have my acoustic, and teaching myself, my beautiful sweet wife set through my learning"to the point that I have" without complaining once. Sometime back I kinda, sorta, let on that I really wanted an electric guitar, as soon as I mentioned it, she said "go get it, you deserve it" I went that day to the Guitar Center and bought myself an Epiphone. She is the greatest, she's beautiful, very loving, and even sweeter than that, I'm not a man with much money, but at the same time, because of her, I feel like a rich man. So I agree with Bensonp, I'm sure others wives deserve credit!
Cam
PS Zurf, sounds as if you have a great wife to, go get the guitar!
I have a cell phone, never use it, I've never text a message or recieved one, don't care to. I understand that cell phones are considered a necessity these days for different reasons, I get that, however where I work, it's just completely out of control, these people will not let work get in the way of their talking or texting, you wind up having to work around, through, or just bypass them all together. The ringtones drive me up a wall, just a get a normal ring. I also think it's rude to use while having dinner, or when talking to someone else. We have become an addicted society to cell phones and manufacture reasons to use it when the call means nothing at all, and don't get me started about driving and talking on the phone....ok ok, I feel better now, I just needed to get that off my chest, I'll be fine now.

It's ok Kap,
Frankly, until I looked it up, I didn't know the founder of Basketball was from Canada, so I learned something today to.
Cam
Kap,
It's always been my understanding that Basketball was invented in Springfield Massachusetts at a local YMCA, although the inventor James Nasmith was orignally from Almonte Ontario Canada
Hey GuitarPix,
Just wanted you to know how much I'm sure we all appreciate the hard work you put into this, I know it has to be time consuming. It will really help me alot, as well as others, especially the ones with the strumming pattern's and video's, so thanks again. I think you should get voted "Chordie Member Of The Week" you've certainly got my vote!
Cam
Hey thanks Topdown and Southpaw41L,
I've always been a big fan of Jerry Jeff's, seen him live many times in the past. I didn't know this site exsited, thanks again!
Cam
Last_Rebel, and SouthPaw41L,
We have a CD of his at work we listen to sometimes that just cracks us up everytime we listen to it, I wish there was some of those on Youtube, but they're different ones, except for a couple.
Cam
Anyone ever heard of Roy D Mercer, He works with a couple of DJ's out of Tulsa Oklahoma, people call him with a little information about one of thier friends, then he calls them up with a prank phone call as a joke, it's great stuff, give it a listen.
Cam
Hi Everyone,
