Roger - we really do need a like button. Nothing cooler than a guitar strapped to a motorcycle...at least for those of us who grew up when Elvis was still around. Congratulations on your new Daytona. BTW - Did you know that every spring there is a bike rally in Daytona Beach, Florida. Coincidence? I think not!

Re: Why? (5 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I do it too....my daughter is visiting right now and all this organic, gluten free stuff has taken over my fridge....so searching out the good stuff in there (if there is anything) can be rather time consuming at present.

Hey Phill - I felt it had a more Steve Winwood sound to it. Good song and performance.

Scott emailed me about a week ago with this song idea and we worked at it together and came up with what you see here. I just sent Scott a scratch of how I play it acoustically and I can't wait to his electric version. I think it turned out great. It sure has a much more edgy style than my normal Folk/Americana stuff.

A guitar is great time machine...some nights I start messing around and look up and it's the next day. I hope you heal fast and remember that there are worse things than retirement. ![]()

I wrote this a few weeks ago. A very close friend of mine is going through the betrayal of their significant other. I'm sure we all know people like the one this song's about, but it is a shame when people you love and care about get their life shattered by these self important jerks.

One thing to remember is that John Prine always uses a thumb pick...here is a good youtube that covers John's finger picking style.

I usually toggle between playing my own songs and playing covers. Here is a list of the 5 covers that I play a lot right now. The songs I like to play vary from time to time depending on my mood and what's going on in my life, but these are what I am having the most fun with right now:
Chickens in the Garden - author unknown - fun little Yorkshire Folk song (if you need the lyrics/chords let me know) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAbFfieXR5U
Tonight will be Fine - by Leonard Cohen - performed here by Teddy Thompson - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W89j6GjPDI
Promises - by Eric Clapton - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuZkUftTwKo
Tuesday's Gone -by Ronnie Van Zant - Original Lynyrd Skynyrd studio version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-f2y1QC_yg

Re: My truck stinks. Literally (13 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
2 things to try. The cheapest is white vinegar. Soak a rag with it and let it soak in real good where you found the maggot infested pile of goo. If that doesn't work, then urine-gone. It's meant for removing pet urine smells from carpet, but uses an enzyme to break dow n the organic compounds. I've found that it works on all sorts of organic based odors. Plus it is featured in my only song I've written.
"Better life through chemistry is my reaction
Relief comes solely from enzymatic action."
Urine-gone.....hmmmmm......I wonder what other names they tried out before they decided to stick with that one.

Great song Jeff. Its nice to see a song about family, and its a great tribute to your father. The lyrics really pulled me into the story.
Last year my youngest daughter and I researched my family history and I was able to write three new songs inspired by my great-grandfather, grandfather and father's generations.
DE
I could use another camp/camp fire session with you again my friend. I would really enjoy hearing these three.
