You absolutely did the right thing.  Now a new full size gig bag won't be much comparted to the new guitar.  That was brilliant.

I saw that on TV recently, but can't remember which show. It was about changing jobs as you first mentioned.

merry Christmas everyone.

Good story Wayne.  It always does your heart good when somebody responds that way.  And for you to take the iniative was great.  We all need to be more like that.

It will center arounmd two issues.  Guns and mental illness.

I think this goes way beyond gun issues.  It is about how we are raised, about television violence and violent games, perhaps about what we eat  (it's McDonalds fault).  It is about teaching our children responsibility and consequences and good values.  It is about a world of fast, at your finger tips information.  It is about terrorism in the news.  It is about all the bad news every day and the lack of good news.  It is about how the media plays out these instances by asking the parents what they are feeling right after their child was shot.  This world is going to hell in a hand basket and it seems there is nothing we can do about it.  Other than this little rant, I also am left speechless.  There are 28 households that will have unopened Christmas presents under their trees after Christmas.

Yep, that's the ticket Zurf.  A well thought out plan indeed.  I'm behind you a hundred percent.

Sounds to me like you need to move Zurf.  Or at least try the shed thing.  That sounds good.  Although the money you pay for the shed would by a nice Martin.

The key words here (your words) You have been trying for a few years on and off.  I did that same thing for many years and still was no better than when I started.  Not until I really got interested and practiced every day did I start to see my self getting better.  Progress takes quite a bit of interest and lots of work.  There is no reason you can't enjoy playing while you are working hard toward getting better.  It sounds as if you are having a hard time keeping interested in what you are doing.  Continue practicing scales and chords, but as they said above, try to fit all of what you are learning into an actual song.  Pick some of your favorite songs and start there.  Then go to Youtube and watch as many covers of that song as you can find. You will find that watching others play and sing the same songs will help a lot. I am guessing you are not a singer or you would find that singing along with the chords to a certain song will give you a feeling of accomplishment after awhile.  I am not very helpful perhaps, but do take these things into consideration and the best of luck to you.  Of course feel free to keep asking questions.

I've used Pandora and like it.  I haven't tried Spotify yet.  I'll have to give it a try.

Excellent Rich.  I like it.

I have to agree with Astro on this.  I think, after looking back on my child rearing days, that teaching responsibility and the fact that there should be consequences for everything we do, is the number one thing we can teach our children so they may go out into the world with that firm foundation.  I can't think of anything more important than teaching respnsibility to our children.

Leave it to you beamer to come up with the christmas song from hell.  LOL.  Not bad all in all for a quiet christmas sitting around the tree opening presents of coal.

I have problems with my left wrist too.  It doesn't bother my playing yet, but will someday perhaps. I think it may be arthritis.  Never been to Dr for it.  It just hurst sometimes when I twist it wrong.  I'll have to try a brace.

That may be a little put on, but I do believe that with stretching a lot, your body gets longer to a point.

Couldn't agree more Astrronomikal. I've known for years that a lot of people die shortly after they retire.  I think the biggest cause of this, although not in every case, is boredom, nothing to look forward to, such as playing guitar and learning new songs.  I look forward to tomorrow every day so I can get up and play and learn that new song I found.  It keeps me wanting more.  And that is the key to living longer.

You got my vote Phill. Spread the word.  I shouldn't have said I have all the time in the world, because my wife stays on me too, but I sneak time all day long.
