That would be a yes.
mekidsmom wrote:We had a feeling you may have been entering in the wrong info! It took us about 6 driving hours to get to Virgina for the Zurfapalooza (July River Jam) a few years ago. You'd have to be in some realllllly weird out of the way place for it to take you more than 5 hours to get to us from PA!
!
I'm 15 miles west of 81 and about 40 north of the Pa/Md line. I just assumed TF's destination was near you and plugged it in to mapquest. Guess I shouldn't have been so quick to assume.
mekidsmom wrote:Sylvan Beach, NY 13157
Well apparently I enter the wrong information into my search the first time.
It turns out to be 4.5 hours. I'm in.
Edit: Looks liked I used TF's destination of Plattsburgh NY. Big difference.
Well winter returned overnight. Down to 19F with snow showers and a brisk 15-20mph breeze. High today and tomorrow in the low 30's.
mekidsmom wrote:Interesting note to those in other areas might be NY's Liquor Authority: Grocery stores cannot sell liquor in NY. The first time I traveled out of state as an adult I was SHOCKED to find liquor in the drug stores and grocery stores. I saw stores with signs appearing to be liquor stores that, once inside, looked more like mini marts that also sold cheese, band aids, and cigarettes. In NY, a liquor store is a liquor store. The only thing they sell is Wine (real wine, not "wine products"), Champagne, and Liquor, and you can't get that at any other type of store. Note - Beer, and Wine Products (wine coolers, and disgusting things that resemble wine but are not really wine) are not sold in Liquor stores, but are sold in grocery stores, mini marts, and gas stations. All liquor stores are privately owned.
In Pa. the commonwealth ran every aspect of alcohol sales up until last summer. They finally relinquished their stranglehold and now allow beer sales in grocery stores. Anything stronger is still sold in "State Stores".
Back in the 80's when I was touring, I was shocked when I walked into a convenience store in Syracuse (concert at the Carrier Dome) and saw beer in the coolers.

Sounds a lot like California. Legislator's always know what's best for everyone else.
8 hours from here. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?
That has possibilities!

First we have to clarify what a "Blue Law" is.....?
Thanks Doug. I don't feel completely out of the loop.
Here in Pa. we only have 2 Blue Laws left on the books. No car sales by dealers and no hunting on Sunday.
Strummerboy Bill wrote:I do understand it is for a year on a trial basis, and then you have to buy it or revert, is that correct, guys and ladyies?
Thanks
Bill
That's the way I understand it.
The thing is, they aren't coming right out and saying it. It's a rather vague offer. I'll probably just stick with 7
mekidsmom wrote:Just checked into this, it's supposed to be a free upgrade to current 7 and 8 owners for the first year once released.
I looked in to this as well. Yes you can upgrade for free but it's only good for a year from the day you install it. What I can't find out is, what happens at the end of that year if you decide you don't like it and don't want to buy it? Does MS uninstall it from your computer?, shut your system down because you are now in possession of pirated software? They aren't addressing that scenario.
First day of spring.

OK. It came out rather small. In case you can't read it, that first day of spring says 2"-6" of snow.
COOOOOOOKIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. That worked. Thanks!

OK. I'll stop complaining about our weather now.
What do you have there, 8" or so?
WOW! Very pretty. Happy NGD.
mekidsmom wrote:We're expecting snow, just in time for spring!
Yeah, go figure. Our snow is all gone and they're calling for snow again Friday night.
For the next 7-10 days we're back to highs in the mid to upper 40's and lows in the low 30's. Guess I won't be pickin' on the patio for awhile yet.

No snow left except along the side of the road where the plows made their deposits.
LOL. Amys most likely calling us a few words we may not care for.
That's OK. I was using some of those same words on Jeff last week.
A tropical 65 here today!
No snow left except along the side of the road where the plows made their deposits.
Doug_Smith wrote:Keep doing what you're doing and make it your own (to use a cliche).
Keep it loose, make it fun, and don't sweat the small stuff.
That's always worked for me.
Did anyone make any video or audio recordings?
topdown wrote:I spent over an hour effing with the google feed and couldn't get it to play - only so much I can take - sorry folks.

Yep. There's no substitute for playing with others. My fastest progress came with sitting around with others and playing VERY quietly along with them. After about a year I was far more comfortable with my abilities and didn't mind playing a bit louder so I could be heard.
After a week of mid to upper 50's, we're back to 40F and a cold, all day soaking rain. As dreary as it sounds, I'll take this over any more snow. Looks like winter has finally released it's icy grip.
