I enjoyed this one a lot!! I was curious what software you're using to record it, because it sounds pretty good ... I'm going to have a try at this one later this month (although time is already running out!!!).

That was pretty good - enjoyed the pictures of (your?) dog smile Are you using a harpsichord in the background?

As a regular user of the site, I've got to say this is probably the most confusing aspect of the songs ... and since I've found it, I generally find #2 or #3 are better than the first one offered - is there any way we can push up the ratings so the 'best' song appears in the first position, or are these ratings pulled from the external sites?

Also wonder whether it might be worth having a "?" in that panel and some "hover help" as I've seen this question asked a few times, and wonder how many people don't login to the forums and ask the question (thus go to another site) ....

Cheers

SCIENCE CONFIRMS THAT SONGWRITING IS GOOD FOR YOU

Whilst I'd like to believe it, because I'm starting to write again, I have to ask the question - do you have a source??

BTW, found this whilst looking for the source: Science Proves: Pop Music Has Actually Gotten Worse

Any publicity is good publicity ...

I've bought some smaller items from SweetWater, because the time/cost to ship from the US is almost the same as getting it from our East Coast!! But now our government have decided to slap GST on _every_ item bought from overseas - I can see myself looking harder at both local stores and Eastern States stores, although the cost of purchasing will probably include GST markup, so the only one who win are the government!! Previously items under $au1000 for personal use were tax-exempt.

We get the poor end of the stick down under; a couple of years ago I bought a PRS SE online from America for $us700 - can't remember the exact figure, but it came to about $au950 including postage from a USA online shop, in the local shops it was $au1400.

Today, (with the different excange rate) the guitar itself would come to $au985 + shipping, which would then push it into cost + shipping + GST + import tax + import tax assessment. By my calculations it would make it about $au1450.

Bleh ...

Do we know who will be willing to be challenged? I'll put my hand up ...

For the desktop I like SongSheet Generator: http://tenbyten.com/software/songsgen/

It's donationware (works without donation) and runs on multiple platforms ...

Not sure if this will be any help, but when I'm writing out my song sheets (in ChordPro format), I generally use the 'define' function to add obscure chord fingering or voicing, so for example the D9no5 at the fifth fret would be:

{define: D9no5@3 base-fret 3 frets x 3 2 3 1 0 }

which should draw the correct chord format.

You can read more at the ChordPro site: https://www.chordpro.org/chordpro/Direc … efine.html

I've also written a little on-line app to help with the chords: http://neophytte.mine.nu/chord/

I'm also not sure if the Chordie site 'respects' defines (I generally write the songfiles for my local applications; Song Sheet Generator on the Mac/PC and OnSong on the iPad).

Hope that wasn't too off-topic, and it helps ....

Cheers

Slang and dialects have been a life-long fascination of mine. Every language has them, but English is so wide-spread around the globe that it seems to have many more variations .. all of them very interesting and enjoyable.

Strewth, we've got enough slang to take you beyond the black stump and back .... !!!
