Ken, again I do agree with you. ATTENTION, this is me thinking. As I wrote, GROHL told me a lot about NIRVANA, this is so weird funny and sad, NO JOURNALIST AT ALL was ALLOWED to ask questions, even making a suggestion about NIRVANA. And GROHL? he told me so much about Nirvana, that I, if I should have recorded the conversation between him, me and my girlfriend, people would have give me quit a lot of money to hear what I heard. This conversation, I still remind me so much after 10 years, as if he told me a story yesterday. WHY, because it is strange to talk with a man who played in a group, giving "face" to the nineties. I am not talking bullsh**, I am proud, flattered and honoured to be a very close friend in 10 hours. My girlfriend hadn't a real backstage pass, they told me from our arrival that she would get one, but there was really too much work to do, so DAVE in person, left the table, went to the office there and asked a backstage pass for my girlfriend. The day after, I had a huge discussion because rule number ONE is: LEAVE THE ARTISTS ALONE, but what if it is THE ARTISTS WHO DIDN'T LEAVE THE DOC ALONE? Grohl told me that KURT who had a "weak" character was probably drogued, a kind of OVERDOSE, and if he was "high" and you told him he could fly, he would try to fly. As far as I could make a conclusion, SEE KEN'S THEORY.  (was it you Ken, at our table as the invisible man?).

FiveO, I searched a lot, but without result. The guitar you mentioned is for 90% sure a Fender Telecaster. Why, because the Telecaster is still the most used guitar in Country music.
But if it's a thinline or a solid body, I didn't find information.
I'll continue searching

YALE, bienvenutto on chordie. Italia, io sono Belgica.
I continue in  INGLESE.
WHAT KIND OF GUITAR YOU WANT? ACOUSTIC or ELECTRIC. I've post several topics about good and decent guitars. If you go ELECTRIC, I would look on eBay.com (first eBay.it). BUT before you do that MY ADVICE IS=
- Go to online music stores. www.zzounds.com   www.musiciansfriend.com  www.music123.com  you select electric, and they are ranked as best sellers. Change that and go from the lowest price to the highest price. The same for acoustic guitars. Today there are some LOW-BUDGET GIBSONS, but it will still cost you between 400-900$
- Look and compare
- 90% of these guitars you will be able to find them on youtube, allowing you to hear them in action.
- If you found one, it is worth to buy one straight from the USA, why $$ versus €€.
I'll give you some more info.

Friends thanks. The only "NUGENT" song I know is STRANGLEHOLD, also one of the EASIEST songs to play. It sounds nice acoustic, but playing this with a FAT GIBSON SOUND.....

Probably another USA/EUROPE CLASH.
WHO is Ted Nugent? I know "stranglehold" but when did he start, did he play in a band, solo and when?

Dave told me so many details, and after having a great day, with the FOO FIGHTERS, and because of this intense butr short friendship, I started since then, looking and digging to find more.
50% he told me you are able to find, BUT the other 50% he told me, contains stuff enough to make a movie. He told me things who are CORRECT, UNBELIEVABLE, and covered. I'll never forget his words, like COURTNEY HATE in stead of LOVE, he also told that he might have pulled the trigger, but he DIDN'T WANT TO die at all. All he wanted was slowing down, having a break and start again. That's wgat he told DAVE (who was also one of his best friends) and that he was so scared to tell this to his wife, he said "if she will know this, she kills me" I can go more in detail, and being a man of science, it's not so difficult to give someone a product resulting in a BAD TRIP, and push him over the edge.
If you feel good and you drink or take substances = no problem, it works like an amp, your INNER-I will be amplified, so if you feel bad = it can end real bad.

Am I right if I write that bands formed by brothers are cursed?
SRV and JRV played together too, but did they ever had a band?
SEE
- SCHENKER BROTHERS, Rudolph and Michael. One in UFO, the other the Michael Schenker Band
- VAN HALEN, here 1 big difference, a drummer and a guitar player
- OASIS
- CCR
- BEE GEES
- BEACH BOYS
- DIRE STRAITS
- THE KINKS
Is it "frustrating" to play in a band and being overclassed by your brother, like the KNOPFLERS?
If you have the opportunity, and you can listen to DAVID KNOPFLER, you will have probably the same conclusion: he is talented, had really nice songs BUT these songs are perfect as background music.

Today there are still a lot of people who think that loving BEE GEES music is "NOT DONE"
I am a happy man, I think I have almost every BEE GEE song written, yes that dear friends was a HUGE WORK, still in NAPSTER TIME and AUDIOGALAXY.
My collection contains 22 CD's filled with BEE GEE music. This collection is very precious to me.
ADD another 15 CD'S like TALES of the brothers GIBB, this collection isn't a best of. It has a lot of hits but also a lot of unknown songs.
Maybe these 4 CD'S are so close to me because they were playing in my car on 02/09/2000, my CAR CRASH day.
I can't help but I have more PRE-SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER songs than POST NIGHT FEVER SONGS.
It took me MONTHS of research, to find titles, songs and MONTHS to get them.
The BEE GEES have it almost all:
- great songs, especially ballads
- a unique voice harmony, with every BG in a role.
One of my best and most beloved is an own compilation BEE GEES SECOND best. Except from DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER, all the songs are mostly unknown.
GREAT SONGS: A lonely violin, and my favorite GOING BACK TO WATERLOO.

I would really appreciate chordians with their opinions.
For me they are one of the GREATEST BANDS ever.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

There are some music styles, when you hear them it's impossible to stay immobile.
- RAP music: very funny, I drove with my brother for about 100 miles, there was a radio show playing RAP, and 15 minutes later my brother had to park his car, he choked almost while laughing. We were moving on that music with our heads on the rhythm of the music.
- HARD ROCK, HEAVY METAL = is "HEAD BANGING" the OFFICIAL DANCE? For me NOT. But it is really funny to see a crowd shaking with there heads that hard, that if their head was not good connected with their bodies, you would see a lot of flying heads.
Why not normal: if you have got the luck to stay on stage, and METALLICA was performing, it's just the first rows, AND their "virtuosity" is really dangerous. The fifth row is dancing more calm, no headbanging. The headbangers are also masters in playing "air guitar"
So IS HEADBANGING a NORMAL DANCE??
- POGO is similar, on PUNK concerts, they jump and jump without even RESPECTING the rhythm.

There is still a "controversy" about his dead.
- SUICIDE, MURDER?
This might be not the place, but where can I ask this question?
There are a lot of opinions, and even if he took his own life, I don't believe he took that decision just like that.
TOO much pressure? well, get a life!! It's not that difficult to stop and to move to another place.
I told it already a few times. On a Rock Festival, in July 1996, I worked as a DOC backstage for artists only. I was called by DAVID GROHL, for medical problems, and 1 minute later there was a kind of "chemistry" between DAVE and me. We talked, talked and talked. I was invited to stay in his house, I even had all his PRIVATE numbers, and he even told me what we could do.
- jamming
- sight seeing
- visit the studio where REM planned to record an album, he had to assist on some tracks.
- showing me the places to be, like night clubs, and so much more.
While talking about NIRWANA, nobody was allowed to talk about that period, I was able to write at least 10 pages A4 paper, add some of this, add some of that...
It was a weird situation, me a simple MD, loving some of Nirvana stuff, talking, eating with the DRUMMER of one of the most important bands of the 90ties.
Unfortunately, I didn't go, I phoned him a few times, he phoned me, and slowly contacts became rare.
I WILL NEVER FORGET HIS FACE, HIS WORDS, when he talked about Courtney Love (He called her sometimes HORNY Love). What he told, combined with his expression, was very NEGATIVE. I agree, he told me HIS opinion, and I think he was placed more than good enough to judge. I swore to remain silent, and I still am. But his story?....

DO I TRESPASS A LAW when I put a song, an OWN INTERPRETATION of an existing song? EXAMPLE: What is the procedure when I use myspace to play an own interpretation of a song "LIKE A ROLLING STONE"?
I just know that there are a lot of people playing a song written by others.
Do I have the right to post a song without consequences?

ROGER, I NEED TO PUT A SONG ON MYSPACE. I'm not that gifted writing lyrics, but I have too much songs.

Ken
No problem for me. I've been active and I will still remain active.
Chordie is a big part of my life.
I hope to continue contributing.

Who believes this statement today? A LOT.
Compare it to: IT's the last "MALE" bastion that still exists.
It's like a BIKER, surprise surprise when you see that it's a woman.
A "must think" question = why are all great restaurant chefs MASCULIN? If the man is such a good cook, why has the woman to cook at home.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 8155490115
On youtube you are able to see women "HARDROCK WOMEN" in action.
When they play piano, violin, classical guitar, nobody will give comment, but a "tattooed rock goddess" is still NOT DONE.

This is not easy, and SORRY for what I'm about to write, often these female rockers aren't heterosexual.
- JOANN JETT
- JOAN BAEZ
- EMMILOU HARRIS
- WILSON SISTERS: HEART
- COURTNEY LOVE
- JULIANA HATFIELD
- POISON IVY
- RUYTER SUYS, band NASHVILLE PUSSY see http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 4988366302 but EXPLICIT LYRICS!!!, I don't like the VOICE of the SINGER, the music ids really heavy, and if they should take ANOTHER singer, I'm sure they would sound better, AGAIN A "GRAVEYARD" voice, and not fitting in the global picture.
Karen Cuda = female bass player.
- KATHLEEN HANNA

A good comparison is = why are the TOP CHEFS in a HAUTE CUISINE restaurant MASCULINE?At home you see the woman cooking so why aren't they CHEFS in a Top Resto?
About music, the "real rockers" is one of the last MALE BASTIONS. It's not done to play as a woman in a ROCK BAND. You will find more singer/song writers
I also have the impression that other instruments are more associated with women like VIOLIN, PIANA, FLUTE = SOFTER instruments.
For most of us a ROCK BAND is still a MALE BASTION.
Spread the word

See for yourselves : http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 4264328297

Amazing how some kids play guitar.
BE HONEST, some play better than the so called guitar-heroes
A personal opinion, don't give them a piano if they are interested in other instruments. This are some GREAT & AMAZING links
- http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 4264328297
- http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 4264328297

DUDES I get FRUSTRATED YOU WILL SEE WHY.
- http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 264328297, an 8 year old kid jamming with
BUDDY GUY.
I'm getting more and more frustrated, this little fellow is 9 years old.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 4988366302 and this one too
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 4988366302
You can find this and more on the "almighty youtube"
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 988366302, he is already TOO old, 12 years.

ENJOY THE SHOW and give me your opinion.
This would be a nice concept for "GUITAR IDOL" age 5-12 years.
ARE THE PARENTS WRONG to stimulate there little man? OK about piano? Nobody makes a problem, ONE "handicap" these kids performing on stage = child labour

WAS N'T HUMPLE PIE A BAND?
I compare it with "HAUTE CUISINE"
= WHO COOKS AT HOME?
= WHO COOKS IN A TOP RESTAURANT? BOTH ARE MALE PERSONS.
There is a scientific explication.
IF YOU WANT TO SEE HOW GREAT A WOMAN CAN PLAY GO TO:

I wish I could play 10% like her.

Yes RUSSELL my dear friend.
ATTENTION
- IT'S NOT PERSONAL
I believe it's just PROFESSIONAL. You take space, even 80 viewings + NO COMMENT means that people ARE INTERESTED.
Do I answer every topic? I need to hire 2 secretaresses, 1 to read, 1 o answer..
After somedays it dissapears. Some crazy stuff, you find articles with answers 1 year later.

06sc500, I don't know about minimalistic and about taste and shape, it would be a disaster if we all had the same taste, imagine, every man in love with the same woman. From MEDICAL or SCIENTIFIC view, cloning people can be interesting. WORSE, they can produce a billion little docphil's. Strange isn't it BUT TRUE.
About those GIBSONS:
- The more I looked, the more difficult it was. Take a melodymaker, and go to youtube, amazing sound. You find juniors, but they are not that cheap in fact 1600$, in € of course = 1000$
But what is the main difference between the night hawk and a junior?

(1 replies, posted in Electric)

While surfing on some on line sites, I found the "GIBSON ZAKK WYLDE, BULLSEYE".
First of all, ZAKK, is not really known in Europe, sorry for this, but what I did find is
- A GIBSON Z W = $4,399.00 =  Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye (€2800)
- A GIBSON Z W = $7,999.99 = Custom Shop Limited Run Zakk Wylde Bullseye Aged Les Paul Electric Guitar (in € = 5000) The comments on this one are poor.
They both have EMG pick-ups.
- AN EPIPHONE ZAKK WYLDE = Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar Bulls-Eye $799.99 and this one is equipped with 2 USA EMG HZ H4 pickups.
I am not a humbucker wizard, but can someone explain me the difference between an EMG H4A or an EMG HZ H4 versus EMG 81 and 85
In fact I have no problem to live with "tribute guitars", but TWO isn't that too much?

Are there chordians having a Gibson style Zakk Wylde?
Would you have a SIMILAR SOUND if you replace your GIBSON HUMBUCKERS by EMG's?

Isn't it good or not to DELETE your topic if you don't see an answer after a few days?
A few possibilities:
- the topic is more a statement or sais it all.
- the topic has been posted by a lot of people
- the topic is not relevant, and this means that it's not interesting others.
CONCLUSION
I delete at least MY TOPICS to make more "space" or I write another topic.

I know, I asked already about the MELODY MAKER
What is the most "important factor" when you see or hear other "LOW-BUDGET" Gibsons
- NIGHTHAWK?
- JUNIOR?
- MELODY MAKER?

Sometimes you see 1 coil, 2 coils, even 3 coils, or a humbucker? Is there a Gibson "man" who can provide me the information please?
To make it more difficult is there an EPIPHONE model for these 3 guitars?

1,124

(6 replies, posted in Electric)

Can someone help me on this one?
GIBSON MELODY MAKER.
- You have one with ONE P-90 coil.
- You have one with 2 P-90 coils.
I understand that there has to be a difference, but my question includes also WHO HAS EXPERIENCE with a GIBSON MELODY MAKER?
---> is this 1 coil OVER-ESTIMATED or UNDER-ESTIMATED, as far as I could listen to the sound, it is "WOW" such an in fact simple guitar with a fantastic sound. Which brings me to the other one with 2 single coils = is this like a GIBSON LES PÄUL with 2 P-90's? OR is it sounding that different.

It is a little bit confusing, if you start counting the so called LOW-BUDGET GIBSONS like
- MELODY MAKER: they are really cheap and giving a nice sound. In fact a comparison with Gibson
- JUNIOR should be better, but isn't that one discontinued?
A nice link is this one http://www.gearwire.com/media/melodymaker-001.wmv

Tibernius, as far as I can understand, you can change them by a H-S-H combination? What should be the result if you put PRS pick-ups, like on a PRS 513? If you have some pick-ups, you can change or switch from DiMarzio, Lindy Fralin, Noiseless Fender's, even Gibson's.
If I had the opportunity to build a guitar, I think I should try 3 different pick-ups.
