AND it get's better, I came back Friday evening, I catched another "little bug", allowing me to paint my whole house in a brown colour, add 40°C fever, JESUS!!?? I think I drunk about 20 litre of water, apple juice.
Today, better.
Strange, isn't it? If I should have died, the cause of death would be in fact the same as JIM MORISSON, JIMI HENDRIX, KEITH MOON, so I start in reverse: LET'S PLAY AND PERFORM LIKE THEM, I really earned my place there now.
Cheating dead is nice, and indeed if you take in such case "extra's" like boose, drugs.. bye bye cruel world. The sweetest thing there was an incredible beautiful nurse (still studying) a real beauty and so sweet, like removing sweat on my face and hiding quick that towel when others entered the room. But I was to sick to be interested. These weeks were strange, I was not really confused but it was more "blurry, dreaming and awake" BUT I MADE A FEW SONGS THERE, you will see some lyrics soon.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR FANTASTIC SUPPORT, IT FEELS SO GOOD TO SEE HOW MANY NICE PEOPLE AND REAL (cyber) FRIENDS CHORDIE HAS GIVEN ME, AND THAT FEELING IS MUTUAL.
LOVE YOU ALL.

Re: acoustic guitar amps (24 replies, posted in Acoustic)
The best acoustic amp I ever played on is a MARSHALL 100W = AS100D, 2x50W.
699$ on musician's friend AND MAXIMUM RATING, 100% 23 ratings.
This amp is also the most perfect amp to play with a hollow body electric guitar, you can use all guitars on the world on these "acoustic amp", they will give you the purest tone and sound ever heard, and I tried a lot of amps.
DO NOT TAKE the 50W amp, why? Plug your guitar in a 50W, followed by a 100W and you'll hear.

WELL WHO IS THE OLDEST CHORDIAN NOW?
- RUSELL?
WHO IS THE YOUNGEST CHORDIAN?
I was born on 12/07/1955, so 52+almost 4 months. But in Hospital, nobody believed I was older than 40 years old. I have exactly 7 grey hairs, and I met a beautiful young nurse, 20 years old. She was so beautiful, light brown hair, light brown eyes, BUT MOST IMPORTANT, I will never forget her, cleaning my face, full of transpiration, the way she cleaned drops of my face, so sweet, this felt so good, so gentle, never a woman approached me this way. BUT THE AGE?? 20 years? It wasn't difficult to "charm her" but be reasonable. I feel happy that there still are people so gentle, giving you back a feeling that you are still HERE, and you mean somebody.

I am back.
It is getting really weird, escaping 3 times from DEAD, in 3 months, and with escaping I mean that I was not allowed to survive my medical problems.
- Big ulcers in my oesophagus, worst degree (from oesophagitis degree I ---> IV). I had a degree IV, with "pre-cancer", touching = bleeding, and after this, feeling really bad, coughing, periods of fever, the acid coming from my stomach + the reflux (not Duran Duran, the reflex) caused a severe pneumonia = acid in my lungs followed by a 80% deadly pneumonia.
Where did I deserve to live?
I believe that I have a fantastic guardian angel, still convinced that this angel is my "deceased father" 35 years ago.
SOMEONE WHO HAS A GOOD HEALTH WANT EVERYTHING: MONEY, WOMEN, HE CAN'T GET ENOUGH.
SOMEONE WITH A BAD HEALTH, JUST WANT ONE THING = a GOOD HEALTH.
Will I ever run out of luck? It's the 5th time that I "cheated dead"?
I just post this short topic, I've been through hell a few times, and still I'm not good at all. I just hope to find courage to continue my life, or what is left of it.
I AM NOT INTENDED TO GIVE IT UP THERE HAS TO BE A REASON THAT I AM STILL HERE.
Thanks for all your support.

Topic: A strange question: Elvis & Michael (0 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I start from the idea that a lot of US citizens are a lot more RELIGIOUS than here in Belgium. I respect every religion.
WHY THIS QUESTION: YOU CAN CALL IT ANOTHER CRASH US/EUROPE.
- ELVIS PRESLEY SHOCKING THE AMERICANS, BY MOVING HIS HIPS: this was not tolerated, and some radiostations afraid of loosing listeners, refused to turn a PRESLEY song.
- MICHAEL JACKSON:
When he dance, he put his hand almost always on his "genital items, (IF HE STILL HAVE THEM)", it is like he is pushing his "balls" up, and I never heard comment.
You know how much I love the USA
- land of the free
- freedom of speech
But in fact, being there several times, I love the people living in a small city, I never forget when I arrived in MIAMI, and queuing for 2 hours before I could leave the airport. There are lines on the floor, and my foot crossed half that line, followed immediately by a very arrogant woman in uniform
was "ticking with her stick on my foot and very rude and impolite: put your feet behind the line" I was a little bit shocked. The USA a self proclaimed land of the free, is closer to a kind of
"police state", more things are forbidden than in other countries. Also an anecdote was eating, the waitress ask what do you like to drink a Beer, a Coke, and I answered Coke, but liquid. THEY COULDN'T LAUGH when I asked this.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE MENTALITY, it is for me = POLICE STATE.
LAST POINT: a guy is driving a Ferrari, he drives 90 miles /h on a 60 miles way. YOU SEE NOBODY,and before you know a police car is on your tail (HOW DO THEY MANAGE THIS). The Ferarri = very powerful and fast car is followed by a police car, and there speed is the same, so what is the secret of police cars?

South, I agree, and it gets better: I believe that millions of people, still can sing obladi-oblada.
It is, on his own a VERY CATCHY TUNE, and my statement was/is: that this song isn't representative for the Beatles, I love that tune but compared to other songs ???!!!???
If you see the songs they wrote fo others: google: the song the Beatles gave away. Here an interesting link = http://www.bootlegzone.com/album.php?na … ;section=1

I don' see music on this site, only the guitars played by the chordians.
It's so pity we can't show the to each other. Should it be possible to make an extra website, where you can show your instruments.
- DOES THIS EXISTS?
- IF YES, WHAT SITE
- IF NO, We have to figure out how you can place them on a "specific " chordie topic OR a pivate group on youtube, myspace....

I also noticed that Lynard Skynard playing that intro, they almost never play it as on their album.
LIVE = never the same, skipping some pieces of that intro.
WHAT AND HOW DO YOU PLAY AS INTRO, SWEET HOME ALABAMA ?
The intro looks very easy, but it's very tricky

Skydad,I have some great books, like 1000 songs for buskers, or 1000 songs to play.
I'm afraid you learn more than enough watching youtube, or on line lessons.
If I could start it over, I would do as follow:
- Following music class, and learn top read music.
- Choosing guitar and probably piano..
- Trying to improve my skills EVERY DAY by playing.
Now, I'm 52 years old, I developed a personal "style" or a "particular" way to play guitar.
There are some great songs, or intros on youtube, showed how to play it and since I discovered youtube, my skills are improved a lot. It can be a lot better, but having the same style of playing guitar, it is difficult to take lessons. I might do this later with a private teacher, but what bothers me is the fact to play and play and play the stuff you've learned. So I try to focus me on "improving playing guitar"watching tutorial lessons here on line, AND play-a-long with a song.

Re: Why do you play guitar? (24 replies, posted in Electric)
So dear SLASH1998, I started too, because it was fun. Maybe I hurt some feelings, but WHO, I MEAN EVERY CHORDIAN, didn't start playing, being convinced to CONQUER the world with my guitar, solo or in a band. Common guys, who didn't had that idea?
In fact I'm really glad about the way I lived. I knew the most musicians here in Belgium, and a lot were patients too. What can an "old man" like me add ? I really lived a similar Rock & Roll life.
I've met, talked, discussed with some of the greatest bands, thanks to the fact I was doc for artists on one of the greatest festivals in the world, this 15-16 years. The artists: 75% are really nice guys, I have so many "anecdotes, facts" that I can write a book. FUN, FUN, FUN, being invited by Dave Grohl, and having his private phones, Michael STIPE telling me he liked me a lot, so I squeezed my a** you never know. Some artists are a pain in the a**, but the WORST KIND OF PEOPLE ARE: "THE VULTURES" flying around the artists. They have an attitude I can't describe, they are convinced to be more popular than the musicians.
I wrote this again, and yes you start dreaming, what should be YOUR reaction when invited on stage with Neil Young, The Cure and seeing 60.000 people holding a lighter in their hand. A part of that experience will stay forever, and standing behind a curtain, but able to see everything, gives you an adrenalin boost. THIS IS A MOMENT YOU FEEL SORRY, the feeling, playing guitar, is like a shrimp compared to a lobster. WHY, WHY and WHY.

Topic: LOUSY LYRICS (10 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
This is about 2 things:
- An entire song with lousy lyrics
- Phrases from a song who are completely stupid.
First some information: THE WAY PROFESSIONAL CRITICISMS ARE WRITTEN. I am convinced that a lot of guys giving "official critics" are "frustrated musicians". One of the best examples is the PROCOL HARUM song A WHITER SHADE OF PALE, a fantastic song with non-sense lyrics. I adore bands writing complex lyrics by mixing and rhyming. But here we go, the ranking is at random.
LYRICS:
1) I look at the floor, and I see it needs sweeping, Still my guitar gently weeps.
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" The Beatles
2) Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti. "Africa" by TOTO. As I can remember OLYMPUS is in Greece and is the mountain of the GODS.
3) Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball "OASIS" "Champagne Super Nova"
3) I'm as serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer SNAP "Rhythm is a Dancer"
4) "If I was a sculptor but then again, no" ELTON JOHN 'Your Song' (lyrics by Bernie Taupin)
5) "There were plants and birds and rocks and things" AMERICA 'Horse With No Name'
Funny isn't it: plants birds rocks and things (WHAT THINGS? snakes, desert-alligators?)

Topic: FARTISTS?!? (5 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
I love that name to describe bad artists.
- this includes Singers
- guitar, drum, bass.
SOME SONGS SOLD MILLIONS COPIES.
A LIST OF THE WORST BANDS OR SONGS:
1)- BARBIE GIRL, by AQUA
2)- MACARENA by LOS DEL RIOS (history sais that the song being a huge success in Puerto Rico, was heard by thousands of " cruise line" passengers, and so it become a SUPER HIT) Wasn't it stolen from a street musician? At least it was a "hype": song + the silly dance moves. I admit this song "has it"', a kind of magic.
3)- WHO LET THE DOGS OUT by BAHA MEN
4)- OBLADI-OBLADA by THE BEATLES. WHAT THE F*** DID THEY MEAN by this song, see MARMALADE. Comments: The song was a so called homage to the emerging reggae movement? Lennon HATED the Macca song, like all songs, credited Lennon/McCartney (I LOVE THAT TUNE, but it isn't worth a BEATLES song. Did they write it for fun? who knows.
5)- THE DOORS “The End†1967: The most pretentious rockstar’s most pretentious song.
I looked a to find a lot of information about Jim Morisson and the Doors: BE HONEST: do you like to listen 3 times, consecutive, to that song? I AGREE, in association with the movie APOCALYPSE NOW, there is no better song.
6)- REDNEX: “Cotton Eye Joe†1995 a Swedish techno-bluegrass crossover.
So far my list, and I tried to add some comment, which is more difficult. I am sure that you won't agree with certain songs, that's why I call it MY list. Your list can be similar, or you choose different "FARTISTS". Important to know is = I like these songs, which makes it a lot more difficult to "create a list". Like who didn't dance on the Macarena? or "cotton eye Joe"?
PLEASE ADD YOURS.

Re: AUTOMATIC GUITAR TUNER (25 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
MY GOD!
1 little question and such a discussion.
I NEVER SAW SUCH A LONG ANSWERS ABOUT AN "ITEM".
MOST = 99% OF THE ANSWERS ARE CORRECT.
MY POINT IS STILL = HOW CAN YOU TUNE A GUITAR IN THE NORMAL TUNING E A G D B E, starting without one string (I 'more excited if a woman wears a string, bu it has to be difficult).
In the "PRE-TUNER" time, putting strings on a guitar, what DID THEY USE? STILL SPEAKING OF THE FOLLOWING E A G D B E standard tuning, when putting brandnew strings?
There are professional piano tuners THAT MUST BE HELL!!!
- MY STATEMENT IS STILL "A GUITAR WITHOUT A STRING, SO YOU NEED TO PLACE ALL YOUR STRINGS IN POSITION AND YOU ARE SOMEWHERE IN THE ROCKIES, TRYING TO PLAY FOR SOME GIRLS" WILL YOU BE ABLE TO HAVE A "PERFECT E A D G B E"? I don't think so.
I am aware of the fact that you can tune indeed your guitar by ear, I can and most of you can. HOW MANY OF US WILL have the exact chord (Standard tuning)? You can be close, but I'm afraid that this will result in Eb or E#, or your tuning can be, AND THIS IS THE MOST SIMPLE = your guitar will be maybe tuned like this: Ab Db Gb B Eb Ab, a second example A D G C E A.
IT ISN'T DIFFICULT like I could read and indeed, you go on a nice trip, you have to take the plane, AND your strings has to be loose or the risk of a head-crack is real. I can live with all your answers, I am able to tune my guitar with my eyes closed, and what if.. your E is an A now: PLAYING IS THE MESSAGE.
I am convinced that the most important "ITEM" = your ear, and that the standard tuning is less important on the condition that your guitar sounds great.
TONE FORK?

Re: What is it About Martin Owners (26 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
About the "martin story" and reading about the other instruments it sounds weird.
Some people INSIST to show HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE.
It' so strange, why putting MARTIN on it, seeing that there are really expensive guitars?
I used to compare such events as "ego-trippers", you'll find them everywhere. Maybe he paid to put MARTIN on his case. As told in every job, passion, you have the EGO-TRIPPERS:
- MEDICAL WORLD: If you are in a hospital, the "DOCTORS" (most still working to become cardiologist, surgeon...) you will notice people in a white "uniform" 1 or 2 stethoscopes around the neck, a front pocket completely filled with a beeper, a cell phone and 10 writing tools, in the 2 other pockets, a book (where medical problems in a nut shell are written) a blood pressure meter, in fact the more, the worse they are, imagine the fact that some patients or visitors COULD confuse him/her with a nurse. I agree it is a title and I hate titles, on a big reunion, shaking hands and telling: my name is Doctor Donkey, followed by, hi I'm Doctor Bull, hi I'm Doctor Head, I could resist to say that it was strange that you all have the same name.
POLICE=worse, especially the motor bikers, the sun don't shine, but they ALWAYS have reflecting sunglasses, to avoid, I believe, eye contact.
Bottomline: a lot of people are "pretenders", the "have-you-seen-me" type.

The title tells everything. INTERNET is amazing. How is it possible that we almost can live without the INTERNET.
- It's a curse for some people.
- It's a blessing for some people
Since the most important thing is TIME. It can be an addiction, leading to a catastrophe. In the early internet days, you had to use a modem and you had to connect by using your phone. Here in Belgium, I had a patient, a director of a local bank, who lost a fortune by surfing almost the whole day,50 cent pro minute back then.
CAN YOU IMAGINE A LIFE WITHOUT PC+INTERNET, WITHOUT TELEVISION? Maybe people obsessed by sports. I wasn't the sportive kind, I skied, and was invited sometimes to play GOLF. All this has gone forever and will never return, so yes I am a INTERNET ADDICT. Since I have a lot of time I find a lot of sites you normally can't find by using google; changing words!!
A LIST:
1) - JOHN DENVER (I'm leaving on a jet plane, won't be back again) WHAT DO YOU THINK SEEING AND HEARING THAT PARTICULAR SONG? Is there "coincidence", is our life determined?
2) - BUDDY HOLLY
3) - STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN (Not a plane but helicopter, ERIC CLAPTON should have been on the same helicopter with Eric Clapton's band on the way to Chicago. Clapton declined the ride at the last moment. Again "fate" "coincidence" what do you think fellow chordians?
4) - AALIYAH = Singer and R&B vocalist and actress
5) - BUDDY HOLLY.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST YOUR LIST, You can add too, singers, bands who died in a traffic accident. (like Cliff Burton from Metallica

I agree oldnewbie, despite the fact that I agree = IS IT NORMAL THAT PLASTIC SURGEONS still perform surgery on people like Michael Jackson? They ask surgery and if you get paid a fortune, you will "cut and remove" because if you don't they go to another. Some personal issues: a patient entering my office, asking can you prescribe this or that product. Belgium is probably consuming more tranquillizers than most other countries.

- Real drunken people. I admit, I think I drunk the 1 year production of a brewery. Now I enjoy SOMETIMES a glass of wine or chamagne.
- A group of very noisy people when you go out dining with a nice girl, and you can't speak to her because on the other table, they don't talk, they shout.
- A pedophile (here I have to admit that I kept 2 people out of jail, they don't belong here and WHAT IS GOING ON in their mind.
- Marriage between man/man or woman/woman. If they want to protect their selves, let them sign a paper.
- SUICIDE: statistics show us that those who survived, 90% is happy they still live
- POGO, the "punk" dance

Re: THE "HATE" TOP 10 (26 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Tibernius, I am in your top 10? I have a MERCEDES ML, when I started practising again, and having a lot of house calls, I needed ASAP another "vehicle".I had to decide quit fast, because I went to South Africa, in April 2001 with the intention: if I can do this trip, and the results were good, I wanted to start soon. VEHICLE a must, but due to my crash I needed a higher model, like a HYUNDAI Santa Fé, or a Freelander. I took the freelander, 1 year later, I was very anxious, driving that car, even scared. If you feel not safe, scared, anxious in a car and my "income"depended a lot using a car, (the "core" of your practice are older people, disabled people....) so I sold that car, and since my crash happened with a BMW (a convertible, and 300kg heavier than the NON convertibles), this to prevent your car rolling top-bottom-top.. I needed to have a car high enough. Different on holiday, most USA + mustang convertible, you drive a very long time, like 400 -600 miles, in contradiction with working = 20 house calls, short distances, I needed a car, open the door, turn, and without any problem you get in your car. If you start hating a car, the result can be dramatic. That's the reason why I drive an SUV, like Mercedes ML. I felt safer, less anxiety, in April I pay the amount to take over, what happens next? I don't know. I have always loved CARS, GIRLS, HOLIDAYS and GUITARS, and in fact I should be better of with a regular car.

ADMIT: The carving is real great, some are EXAGERATED, others not, and yet FANTASTIC as decoration.

Re: AUTOMATIC GUITAR TUNER (25 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
ROGER, I am throwing the ball back in your camp. (at least a small ball) WHY? most of us are able to tune the guitar. If you see an online video, they start explaining how to tune your guitar.
I also noticed that a "tuning device" showing you that the needle or digital, shows you a tuned chord. My point is, that EVEN WITH THESE TUNERS, you need 100% play different chords.
Even if my guitar is tuned "perfect' you still need to do a "check-up" by strumming A, E, G, C, D, B(less). In at least 50%, I need to adjust a so called TUNED string "BY EAR". I never relie on what I see on my tuner. 90% of the chords are nicely in tune, and even seeing this, the most important item to tune your guitar is and will always be YOUR EAR. Nevertheless the automatic tuner is maybe a gadget, but weren't the first electronic tuners also gadgets? A lot of people used a tuning fork. CHALLENGE: remove all your strings, and put brandnew strings on it: WHO CAN TUNE HIS/HER GUITAR ONLY BY EAR? I agree you can tune perfect your guitar resulting in the faact that your E string is higher or lower. You have no point to compare. Maybe if you change your guitar string after string, giving the opportunity to have a point of reference.
I really love the AUTOMATIC TUNER, it is an evolution.

Topic: IMPORTANT: YOUTUBE a source of information (2 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
- I repeat: a source of information.
- To find what you are looking for, a lot of the results depend on how you write the phrase or question.
- MY EXPERIENCE:
- 90% results, while searching. Ex: if you search Martin versus Taylor, you will not only find a result, but it gives you the opportunity to dig deeper and deeper.
Like: you look for "GIBSON", you will have a lot of results, like what kind of Gibson, you will see an acoustic and/or an electric. You see on the right side a lot of other videos, and by digging deeper, there are even songs played by a player, showing you HOW to play that song. Everytime I'm on youtube I discover more and more. So why IMPORTANT:
- You will almost find in 90% what you are looking for.
- You want to buy a guitar, let's say Martin or Taylor, if you dig deep enough you will be able to hear the difference between those guitars, often 3 acoustics.
- Hearing this guitars, gives you an IDEA about the sound. Comparing them: In the high $$ class, you will notice that the difference is smaller than thought, EXCEPT for some Taylors, caused by the cutaway. Those models use often the same fine woods, and I really don't have an idea where the DIFFERENCE comes in the picture, same top, same back, same sides, even same neck.
IT IS ALL TO INFORM YOU WHAT A TREASURE YOUTUBE IS
