I had  one of  these in the  60s but the  2 pickup  version ,I ended up  swapping  the  neck   for  a  hofner  sg neck  it  ended up  as  a really  nice  guitar ,I  think  the  tunamatic bridge  could be  an option  if an original one isnt  available

I'm not  sure  if  this   is  allowed  so  if it  isn't  please  remove  this  post .But  I  found  out   that  one  of the  guys  at  the  Lancaster  Blues  club   has  written a  book on early  blues history  ,The  book  is  called  Railroadin Some   by  Max  Haymes  Its  full  of  interesting stuff including  lyrics and illustrations .
Like I  say  if this  is  a transgression of the  rules   then I  apologise  but  its  worth a  read  if  you  can find  a  copy .

Funny  you  should say  about  wrong  bar Jim last night  we  went  to  a speakers club I  got  up  and  the  way  I  introduced my  self  was a  great  ice breaker  I stood up  and  said   hello  good  evening   my name is  Graham and I'm an alcoholic ,whoops  sorry  wrong meeting ...... must have  been the  shortest  speech  ever    but  it  certainly  broke  the  ice .
Any way  re  the  song  I've  got  the first  two  verses  sorted  but the  last  verse  doesn't quite fit the  progression  so  I  need  to  re think it a  little  I'll  add the  chords  I  have in a minute or  two   but  the  last  verse  will have  to  wait  till  tomorrow .

I wrote this song today hope  you  like  it .

There's a good song in there somewhere
By Graham Windle ©all rights reserved 10/02/2015

   E                                       A
As I'm getting older ,and my mind is getting slow,
   B                                           A                            E
sometimes it gets harder just to make it through the show.
   E
I take the stage, I strike a chord,
    A
a wave of applause is heard.
     B
There's a good song in there somewhere,
      A                  E
if I only knew the words.
     E                                            A
The second song goes better, the people start to warm,
     B                                      A                     E
I trip over the mic stand, and nearly break my arm.

We laugh it off, and shout out loud,
     A

“Its all part of the show”
    B

The audience think that its a stunt,
      A                      E
and no one needs to know.
      A                                                E
And now the show is ended, and the  songs have all been played.
     B
The encore is all over.
A                                 E
And the  audience gone away
A

All the  gear is  packed up
E

My music has been heard.
        B
There's a good song in there somewhere,
   A                      E
If I only knew the words

I don't  think there's a problem with  the  word  blackboard ,but you  could  perhaps  change it  to  slate  if you wanted ,but  personally  I  would leave  it  as  is .

The  bar   is  the  Lass o Gowery is  in central Manchester , Charles  St and will be  hosting  events   every 2 weeks now .Sam Hain  from the indy  band Glass Tides is  hosting it ,Sam invited  me  to  play  at  this first night but  every  one is  welcome  to  come and  play. GTX if you  get  down  to  your  friends   check  it  out I will  probably  do a second  night  there  some  time as well,

It  can be difficult some times  to engage an audience , I've  played  allsorts  of  venues , worst  thing  is  the  taverna/restaurant gig ,People  just  want  to  eat  and  talk ,they  may  be  listening  with   half an ear ,you  are  just  background music ,grin and  bear it  play  the  songs  take  the money .Sometimes bar gigs   can be  as  bad but  at least  you  can engage  with  the  audience make sure  you  grab em with  something  exiting every  few numbers  so  they  know  your  there ,festivals if  your  the  opening  act  make sure   your  better  than  who ever's  following   if  your following  some  one  make sure  your  better   than the  one  before give it 110%.Theaters If  there  paying  to  see you  you've probably  made it  cos  they're   paying  to  see you  give  the  audience  what  they  want  and  enjoy  your  self

Good  luck  Bill I  would  offer  to record it  but we  dont  have  the  equipment

yep clapham  just  up  from settle  on the  way  to  kendal .
The  conservatory  lighting thing  was a  bit  of  an experiment .
I'll be  doing  it   at  a  charity  do  in Blackburn on Saturday between 11am and  2 pm and  also  in Manchester  at   a bar  called Lass o Gowery  on Sunday  from about 8pm.

Bill on UK radio today  there was an interview  with  Dave Clark and  it  seems  that   BBC 2 have  a  documentary that  is  being  shown  on Sunday Feb 15th  so  if  you  have  access to a proxy server then you  should  be  able  get it  via  the  BBCs i player  service alternately you  can probably  watch it  live  using  Filmon.com.

Hope  you  like my  version of  this  old Lead belly classic

We play  a lot  of  out  door  gigs and Kev J of  this  forum often joins us  in the  show ,one  of  the  places we  played  regularly  was very  windy  and we  always  had  to  peg  the  sheets  to  the  stand on  several  occasions  Kev and  I  have  chased each  others  sheets  down the  beach  when there  has  been a  severe  gust .

Recently I have been playing at an acoustic blues club and I find that my guitar sometimes gets lost in the background as there may often be four our five playing at once.some times to the point where I dont hear it.Has any one any ideas .I cant hit the thing any harder nor do i want to put really heavy strings on as I play the same guitar elswhere amplified and it fine. When I do a solo spot it fine its just when theres a few playing ,last night we had 5 guitars a mandolin ,a banjo  apiano ,harmonica and kazzoo at one point ,my slide part was inaudable to me but ok for the folks sat in front I thought of a mini amp and an earpiece so I can at least hear myself.
