Hi Charles,

I have just looked at the song in question and made the alterations you have noted, but you should have been able to do this yourself.

Any alterations are made in the box at the top of the page where the unformatted version is. I usually click the 'Update preview' button first to check that it is OK and then press the 'Save' button to make the changes on the ChoPro formatted song that we normally see.

Roger

Sorry Dino and thanks J. This gave me a chuckle this morning. It just goes to show how the written word can be so easily misunderstood lol

Hi Chemk,

If your screen does not look like the following picture then the problem is at your end, possibly your screen resolution is too high, causing overlap. Press 'ctrl' and '-' until it is OK.

Hi Marty and welcome to the forum,

Surely you know that Chordie is a search engine and none of the song (apart from the Members originals in the Songwriting section) are hosted here, therefore the contributors are not able to make amendments.

That being said the majority of songs are 4/4 so listen to the song you want to learn and count the beat, 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4, and if you find it is sounding odd, going out of sync, then try 1,2,3,1,2,3, one should fit. If you get really stuck then post a link to the song and ask for help here, someone is sure to let you know.

Roger

Prayers and well wishes for Gary and his family.

Roger

Adjust your screen resolution (control and '-').

Hi wooddragon and welcome to the forum,

I cannot understand the problem with the avatar. Size is usually the only issue, but I have a suggestion. Leave trying to upload alone for 24 hours and try again, if you are still having problems then post again.

As for your username, you are not able to change it, but I can, however there is a danger that in doing so you can lose your songbooks and you might have to start again with them. If you want to take the risk, please write to me privately and we will sort it out for you.

OK What I have is a Epiphone Studio 15 R.

This is a 15 watt electric guitar amp. But if you do not have feed back problems then do not worry and keep using it.

The attack of the mutant metronomes!!!

Songs do not translate easily from one language to another, the length of the phrase and the rhyming will never match.

A few years ago, a Portuguese friend of mine wrote a great song which I wanted to sing but my Portuguese is non-existent. Luckily his English is great, so we sat down together and translated his lyrics to English. Many of the phrases he used did not make sense in English and in the end I re-wrote an English version of the song using the general idea of what he was saying but in no way could it ever be called a translation of his song. As an aside we did go on and perform the song together a couple of times, Joao would sing in Portuguese and would take over in English. Happy days smile.

An acoustic amp is less prone to feedback, some with anti-feedback circuitry and controls. Most also have a second channel with an XLR socket for a mic.

Do any of you know of a music player programme (or app as they now call them) for an android that leaves control to me, please? Every one I have tried either plays a song as soon as I select it or plays the next one as soon as the first one is finished (or both). I want to be able to select a song, play it when I want to, then it stop until I select another song.

Are you sure it is not whatever you are using to access Chordie that has a memory problem? My books are intact and I have never seen, or heard, of that message before. Try again, if you still have the same problem try accessing your songbooks from a cyber caf

The guitar looks great Russ and this addition is a very sensible design. It should work well.  I have seen the results so I am now looking forward to hearing the results.

I have had word from Per that he has sorted the slowness and freezing of Chordie. I would be grateful if you can let me know if you experience any of these problems now. Thank you,

Sorry for your difficulty, it has been the same for me, and everyone else, I suspect. There has been a gremlin in the works tonight and Per has been working flat out to get it fixed. Hopefully it is OK for everyone now and will stay that way.

I would be interested to know whether this is an isolated incident or are many other Members experiencing a slow reaction from Chordie.
