Some incredible guitar playing the music is very ethereal and classically structured along the lines of Pink Floyd without vocals

I've installed Reaper also..... really early in this section.  Back in the Genesis chapter of the recording forum Russell & I played around with a few different pieces of software to see what would work or not.  If memory serves, our criteria was to come up with something that was easy to use for those that were not too tech savvy, and it had to be free..... I did mention FREE!

We always knew that there were better tools out there and assumed that as folks got comfortable with recording and sharing their music, a natural migration to better tools would happen.  Software has evolved, there is better training available (especially via youtube), and there is still Audacity out there for starting with.

So whatever flavor of software you prefer, keep it up!  Several sections of Chordie are better for having this one..... So I would like to take this opportunity to aknowledge and thank Russell Harding for coming up with the idea and taking it to fruition.

Thanks Russ!

Doug

Thank you Doug we both had something to do with it and I also believe the recording forum and theory forum have both been benificial so a big attaboy to Jerome too

I figured it out I clicked the insert tab and was able to load my song and render it to a wav file, I did install the 64bit but it did not install correct on several attempts so I went with the 32 bit and bookmarked a PDF file on the reaper directory. I have over 60 songs mixed in folders and I want to work on the mixes so i am looking to find some freeware plugins vst for reaper its a lot easier to use after watching the tutorials kind of cool thanks for the links everyone

I installed the 32bit on my win 7 which is 64bit my question is can reaper only open wav files? there is no option for importing wmv or mp3 formats I am unable to open folders containing songs I stored it seems the only option is "open project"

Did ya ever wonder why there's only a "stairway to heaven" but a "highway to hell"?

I think its from the bible quote "wide is the gate to perdition and narrow the gates to heaven" something along those lines cant recall the exact wording

Got to thinking that maybe there's more traffic going down.

Got me to thinking there is no up or down in 6 billion years the sun will explode and take the solar system and earth with it and in space there is no up down or sideways hopefully the human race will be advanced enough to leave for another star system and survive otherwise is adios

The opening riff for "Over the Hills and Far Away" is a great bit to practice the hammer-on / pull-off technique. The tab (on Chordie) done by Jimmy Pena is the way I play it (in "G") and it's really not as hard as it looks / sounds. Otherwise I certainly couldn't do it! (LOL) And it sounds a gazillion times better on a 12-string ... can't wait to get one.

This rendition of "Stairway to Heaven" by Heart was part of a tribute concert at the Kennedy Centre, featuring Jason Bonham on drums:

Anne Wilson's vocals are absolutely bone-chilling ... that gal can really sing.

I loved this it is a fantastic tribute to Zepplin I have seen it several times and each time it thrills me smile

I agree with beamer and zguitar do some research before diving in, is this is an acoustic or electric? additional layers of paint effect the resonating quality something to consider. You will have to sand an area to apply paint and clear coat it when it dries with epoxy or some urethane which can be a nightmare if not done correctly but all that said go for it sounds like a cool idea smile

I dont think this is a necessary item any loop machine dose the same thing. that said it looks cool but I have been known to purchase unnecessary things from time to time lol

I like the lyrics definitively country would like to hear some music with it if you upload it smile

LOLOL thanks Doug. when It comes to that 3rd Pick up Im going to take it directly to the Luthier that I trust LOLOLOL.  Ill still be happy with the 2 PU config and just have the bridge tapped.  but this is what I am shooting for:

https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hph … 7606_n.jpg

If you decide to go with 3 you will need a 5 positon switch unless you plan on having a 3 way switch and only using one pickup at a time the 5 way switch lets you split the coils just like a strat but you would need to either know how to wire the pots or buy a pre wired harness in other words wire it like a strat instead of 4 control pots by pass one and use three 2 for tone and one for master volume GF sells them for around 24 dollars all you would need to do is wire the ground and input plug and your good to go
