G                    C
700 people sailing on the ocean
Em
Don’t know where they’re going
F
As they’re out there on the sea
Am
Don’t know what will happen
Em
Or who they have to please
F                                         G-Am
Just sit back and watch the, refugees

Am
From a distant shoreline
Em
They began their journey
G
Had to get to somewhere
F
Fleeing for their lives
Am
Once they lived their paradise
Em
Beneath the swaying trees
F                                          G-Am
now the people call them ….refugees

Bridge

G
Been a long time passing, don’t know what will happen
Am
They might get there, crawling on their knees
G
Been a lot of trouble, the world is in a mess
Am                                G
Maybe we can cure this social disease

Am
Sailing on the ocean
Em
We need some solution
G                                               F
Something that can help these, people please
Am
Will it ever happen
Em
Stop the fighting
F                                                G-Am
Until then there'll just be more refugees  x3

Check it out  with  Kev Jones  he  uses  one  all the  time   for  live performance   ,I'm sure he'll comment anyway  when he  sees  it.

Thanks  guys  I  woke  up  this morning  with  this  in my  head  and  had  to  get  it  down , I'll do  an acoustic rendition of  it  as  soon as  I  can , most  of  my  songs  can be  played  either  electric  or  acoustic ,but   I  think  I'll  explore  the  acoustic version of  this as I  have  an idea  for  a vid to  go  with it .

Wrote this song this morning for all  those  struggling  to make ends meet where ever  you may be .

D                      C                      D
I’m sorry that I haven’t found a job today
D                     C                D
I’m sorry that I haven’t any pay
D                    C                       D
I’m sorry but I walked a dozen miles today
C                      G                   D
But everybody just turns me away

Chorus

A                    G         D
You make me feel so worthless
A                   G                         D
You make me feel like I’m not a man
A                    G         D
You make me feel so worthless
C                        G                 D
But you know...I do the best I can

D                   C                        D
I often go and sit there by the railway
D                                   C                        D
I watch the freight trains as they come and go
D                        C                      D
I see the people walking to their office
C                             G                       D
Now, what its like to be them I don’t know

Chorus

A                     G         D
You make me feel so worthless
A                     G                       D
You make me feel like I’m not a man
A                    G         D
You make me feel so worthless
C                       G                 D
But you know...I do the best I can

D                 C                   D
Maybe I can find another option
D                  C                     D
Maybe I can change this life I lead
D                  C                      D
Maybe I can show the people something
                      C                   G                       D
Well! You can shoot me but I ain’t got time to bleed
                      C                   G                       D
Well! You can shoot me but I ain’t got time to bleed
                      C                   G                       D
Well! You can shoot me but I ain’t got time to bleed

I  like  the  lyrics  Scott   but  Id like to  hear  the  style  you  play  it  in .  It  comes  out  a  bit  country  when I  play  it  and  I'm not  sure  if  thats  how  you  see  it

Thanks  for  the  compliment  Jim glad  you  like  the  vids .Currently  we are now  only  doing  summer time  in Crete it  gets  a  bit  damp  here in the  winter months and  nothing  much  only  raki  brewing  goes  on ,I'm here  for  xmas  but  its  back  to  the  UK   for  new year and  then   maybe for  much  of  2015 if  certain things  happen ,its  too  early  to  say   yet but it looks  like  we  may  be  commuting  next  year .
Re  the  song get a  sound  cloud  account  and  play it  its  great I'm sure  your  voice  will  be  much  better  than you  say the  first  step  is  the  hardest  and  once  you take  it  you'll  be  singing like  a  bird

Love  it  my  sort  of  song

Moody blues did nights in white satin

I have never seen one  of these devices  before and like  doug I  also play an ovation  the light  weight  and bowl body  make  for  a  comfortable  play when used  with a  strap .

Playing  with  the  music on a  stand  is  a necessary evil  Pete my  old  brain refuses to store too many  things  these days ,come  to  think  of  it  who  am I ? where am I ? oh  yes  I  remember  now   its  Friday...isn't  it ?

Honestly  Doug  they still  sounded  good my  other guitars have  ernie ball  slinky 9s  and  I  replace  them frequently  I  will  be  intrestesd  to  see how   the  cobalts  compare   soundwise  they  are  ok  but  perhaps   not  as  bright   as  the  elixirs  when new . The  elixirs seemed  to  mellow    as  they  aged .

Well I  finaly  took  the  plunge   and  replaced  the  Elixirs  with  Ernie ball  Cobalt 9s even though  the  Elixirs  sounded  ok  after  being  on the  guitar  more  than two years and  played  daily  and gigged  regulaly  ,the  fret  wear   I  spoke  about  in the first  post  hasnt  really  got  any  worse . Wonder how  long they  will  last  in comparison ?I s  this  a  record ?

me too  but  some times  when we  do  a  festival here the sound  guys  provide  a standard  backline  for  all to  use  this  usualy  consists  of  a  marshall stack  a vox  modeling  amp  and  maybe  if  were lucky  a  fender    twin reverb  for  the  guitarists  and  a  bass  rig  so  its  a  case  of  getting  what  your  given .This  year  the guys  did  a  great  job  at  all  the  gigs .

Finaly managed  to  find  one  of  these in the  UK on Ebay at  a  great  price .Just  have  to  wait  till January  to  try it now .The  suspense  is  killing me .

Any one tried  a Peavey  rage   258 25 watt amp.Is  it  loud enough for  small gigs or  would  it  be  drowned out  by  the  drums?
Some of the  gigs  in the uk I  did last  year  were  small venues where  we played  with out micing the  amps amd with out monitors. The  3  amps  I  used  were  Roland 50 cube ,Marshall 30 dfx and a  fender  twin reverb ,all were ok  but  the  variance in tone  was a bit anoying so  I  thought  maybe  buy  a  small easily portable  amp for  this  coming years gigs that I  can easily  throw in the  back of  the   car .

Great  nights Kev  when we  used  to do  the  GB Blues band  and friends gigs, with  you   Lefteris ,Elpida and the  cream of  Sitias  musicians ,sadly  the  authority's  have  curtailed many  of  these  events  this  year .While  you  have  been away we  have  only  had  5 live gigs  this year as  the  venues seem to  have  cut  back  due  to the  new  tax /insurance laws not  to  mention the  noise problems .Thankfully  the charity gigs  seem unaffected ,you  missed  a great night  at  the  medicines  for Gaza gig.
