Good to hear the ticker's ok, and that you're back to the guitar. Hang in there Bushy! You know how it works, sore fingers only get more sore until they aren't anymore. LOL

My pleasure to loan you the guitar - with your playing and singing, it has never sounded better. The strings are my go-to's =- John Pearse 80/20 lights. (And don't you DARE buy me any replacements!)
Ha ha ha ha.... evil laugh... ha ha!

I love the way you told the story, and yes, this northerner is laughing. Have you seen the little shovels they sell to keep inside your car? Yes, they sell these. They come in quite handy when you are out and about and get landlocked like that. But, around here, in the more rural areas, we just call them "kid shovels" because even at 6 years old... EVERYONE shovels in winter!

Three videos are up on Youtube. Here's the link to my page: https://www.youtube.com/user/mekidsmom
WARNING: NO EDITING WAS DONE other than allowing youtube to straighten up my shakiness, and these were taken on my tablet. The sound is not anywhere near as awesome as it was in person!!!!

AMAZING weekend! So, I could have brought my guitar and likely wouldn't have gotten charged an oversize fee... but... Jeff's Breedlove was a REALLY nice substitute! Speaking of which, I probably owe him some new strings because I beat his up pretty good. I haven't played that much in ... well... probably EVER! It was awesome, everyone was GREAT, and it was such a pleasure to make new friends. I appreciate that the guys allow me in the circle, although my guitar skills are WAY below theirs! I have been inspired to play more, and learn a little music theory! TONS of food, TONS of drinks, TONS of awesome music and kind musicians, tough looking guys that are really just a bunch of teddy bears.
And I have to agree with Wayne, Jeff IS an amazing host. Putting this together, offering us all couches, beds, and floor space, making 5 pots of coffee for me and Zurf in the mornings, feeding us drinks and outrageous amounts of wings, THANK YOU! A hair more sleep would have been nice, but the fun was worth the lack of sleep.
I will get the few videos I took up on youtube today. I still want to smack myself for forgetting the SD card for the zoom. The videos I took were of the jam moments, but there were so many other single song moments that should have been preserved! I am hoping Scott took a few videos to share! I think he did, but... that could be a fireball brain swerve.

Chordiestock II update.... complete and utter awesomeness cannot even begin to describe what this weekend has been so far. Yesterday there were 11 guitar players in a huge circle, taking turns, jamming together, and having cocktails from about 2 pm till midnight. It was amazing!!!!! I forgot my sd card for the zoom recorder (booooo) but I did get a couple vids with my tablet. I am not sharing till I get home though.
London Bus Pub tonight. I hope they are ready for us!

As a typical girl, I have overpacked... but not too bad. Two carry ons though I think I might check the one bag just so I don't have to drag it on and off the plane. Besides, I love seeing my tiny suitcase next to the giant ones on the carousel. I've got extra strings as well, and looking forward to checking out Jeff's guitars!
Stoked is a good description Zurf. I'm with ya there. I can't wait to fly off into the sun and away from the snow, have all day long to do nothing but play guitar (although, my fingers will be hurting... I haven't had enough time lately), AND MEET WAYNE and LIZ and BEAMER in person!!!! Of course Topdawgz is a newcomer, but I'll bet he'll be a blast! Seeing Jeff and Zurf again is going to be awesome too. It seems we make pretty decent drinking buddies (although, I refuse to let my fingers get tooooo drunk!).
Switching from snow blinders to sunglasses in about 10 hours!

Vent away. I am sorry to hear about the turn in her health. I know at this point it is "inevitable", but pain and suffering is just not fair, not right, makes ya angry. I can't imagine what you are all going through, but my thoughts are with you ALL that this may be as painless as possible. It sucks. I wish I had some words that could help. If I were in your shoes, I think I might be looking for something to smash.

Burbon, whiskey, vodka, sweet dessert wines, wine coolers, and I've even been known to drink a Coors Light or Budweiser. LOL!
Is there anything from NY that you are dying for Jeff, that is available here in the dead of winter that I can bring for you? The snow won't make it, I KNOW how much you MISS that... NOT! ha ha!

Amy ,see you should have come too northern ca.!
If I'd have had a choice, it sure wouldn't have been downtown LA. OMG! Financial district is nothing but EXPENSIVE places to eat, EXPENSIVE places to drink, and CRAZY homeless as soon as the sun goes down (which was every day after work). OMG! I have some SERIOUS stories, one for almost every day. But... it was much warmer there than here (snow... ick). Can't wait for CHORDIESTOCK! Expecially since I've been going nonstop since I got home... ER with my mom and Dr's because she decided to try to ice skate sunday for my daughter's birthday. She's ok, although my daughter had her worst b.day ever without me. Sigh! work work work... my guitar has been crying for me to play it too!

It's the Martin's first recording, but of course the strings are pretty dull and need changed. Maybe this way no one will mess with it when I'm gone (yeah right).
