Gidday
Today i saw a guy playing a cigarbox guitar, bloody amazing!
looked on utube, lots of ideas for building one.
i think i will make one.
3 strings tuned G d g a barre will pretty well get u( i iv v.)
Let me know your thoughts? have u played one?
Thanks.
Gidday.
Always on the look out for another guitar.
i`ve just tried a Larrivee,it ticked a lot of my boxes.
but something not quite right, the guys in the shop
fitted martin strings for me,that made a big difference.
i would love a Martin but in NZ they are very over priced.
With the usa printing money the $ exchange rate with NZ
is favourable for a change. All USA made guitars have come down in price.
EG Fender Amercian Standard Strat 3yrs ago $2600 now $1800.
Martin price unchanged.
So i`m looking for a quality guitar, but don`t want to be ripped off.
Any other quality brands come to mind???
Where would you rate the larrivees?
Gidday
Thanks for advice guys but only having a dabble
I looked up CCR ` down on the corner`as i seem to remember quite a strong bass riff in it.
Thats the kind of thing i wanted to know.
Knowing zero about bass, thought i might dip my toe in the water see if was for me.
Gidday,
I`m having a play on a friends Uke Bass this weekend.
I`ve never played bass before, any ideas for simple bass riffs
of well known songs i could tackle.
Your help much appreciated.
Gidday
If only allowed one `God only knows` The Beachboys
My main point was the huge difference in sound from my new Vox lead.
Disappointed by the quality of the lead that came with the Fender.
Gidday
I`ve always been a huge fan of Fender, I own An American Standard Strat & a Tele.
Have always played them with the lead that comes in the fender case.
Recently i saw an old fashioned curly lead in the music shop ,had to have it.
It`s a VOX brand, WOW this has given my sound a real zap!
I guess all leads are different, never really thought about it.
Some of you lot are covering a big area,so i guess i can have Neil Finn/Crowded House
from a couple of hundred km up the road.
Gidday,
In Wellington the band/artist that has made the biggest impact on the world scene is
Flight Of The Conchords
Do u like them????
How often should i replace the strings,Being nylon do they last longer than my steel guitar strings?
Look forward to your usual expert replies.
Joe Cocker does pretty good covers of Beatles songs.
gidday,
A lot of chordians complain about Beatle songs not being available.
often say` Mccartney is greedy`
I don`t think the beatles own many of their songs.
I think Mccartney owns the Buddy Holly songs though.
Gidday Rakuraku
Good to see another kiwi on chordie
Gidday Steveco
Sounds like you are making it over complicated.
find a song, play the chords and make it your own.
HAVE FUN!!! thats what it`s all about
Gidday
I need to replace my Uke strings.
What brand of strings do u think are best?
My Uke is a Boulder Creek concert.
Many thanks, B.
Gidday
Listening to the radio today they played` Four Strong Winds`
they said it was judged the best song in Canada.
In New Zealand the song voted best song is called `Nature`
What is the best song in your neck of the woods????
Love it all
favourite artists this week
Paulo Nutini
Ron Sexsmith
Gidday,
Just got home from seeing The Bootleg beatles in concert.
I don`t really rate tribute bands, but went along because i
heard so many good comments.
They where fan bloody tastic,a great night.
They are an international touring band, really good light show/backdrops ect.
Playing with a 9 piece orchestra,producing a brilliant sound.
They took us through from 1962-70 with costume changes & music.
If they play your town,Not To Be Missed!
Gidday Wakey
yeah know how u feel.
What i did was get an electric,an amp with some effects ect.
i find some songs don`t work for me on acoustic but on electric with a bit of reverb or flanger
they work a treat.
also using a capo makes things interesting for me
OR get a uke, a few chords go a long way. They are a lot of fun.
Let us know how u get on?
Gidday tauekimillie

I didn`t know a guitar could make all those sounds.
If you are into guitars this guy is a must see! WOW
Some things he did happened so quick ,i kept thinking WOW what was that he just did.
Gidday,
I`m still having problems,When logged in i can`t access my songbooks.
Some one elses always comes up.
Also the home page is always the same, no new forum subjects, or song lists.
Don`t mean to hassle u as u do a great job.
But i thought i better let u know.
Many thanks B.
Gidday,
I`ve got tickets to see Tommy E next week, really looking forward to it.
Has anyone caught him in concert lately?
