He's real good. Love the resonator guitar - I almost bought one once - then my good senses kicked in and said you can barely play a regular guitar - what are ya thinking !
Phill
Put me in the same line as TF, as I to am awestruck at the song.
The guitar playing is sensational !
Jim
Thanks to Phill - he helped re-write and make the music component work.
I really like it - but then again I'm a bit biased ![]()
Hope you like it as well.
Much gratitude to PHILL !!!

They are excellent !
I liked the way the song changes - it's almost like they switch genres a couple of times. Superb guitar playing and the keyboard was top rate as well.
It is so sad that he died - I can't imagine the suddeness - went to a show the night before to watch another band play - was fine - goes home - then has a full cardiac arrest and dies.
40 is way too young - reminds of the song six strings down - angels done took anothe (blues) stringer back home"
good post TF TY

That Axe sure looks nice !! ![]()
We might as well say adios - your gonna be to "busy" to spend much time on chordie ! ![]()
Glad things are working out for you !
BTW - what does SWIPE stand for ?
Congrats my friend, keep traveling that road to happiness.
Jim
Phill
your song was exactly what i was thinking in the one I wrote. Thousands of miles across the Atlantic - never met in person - yet we think so much alike !
So cool !
Thanks
My friend
Jim
TF thanks for the kind words - it just comes easy for me - and i am always cognizant of phrases and comments that would be great themes. There are so many great contributors here on Chordie it seems to be easy pickens as such.
I play it in both keys of A and G and like it both ways.
Peatle - that was a great description of a time gone by in the area.
When I read about the park, it just seemed so peaceful and beautiful. Do you know if the deer and chestnut trees are still as prevalent ?
I did not realize the link between Captain Vancouver and the Canadian city ! Thanks for the history lesson.
Phill - interesting history regarding the King. Also, what or who is CNET ?
Thank you all for the positive feedback - I wish I could sing b/c I think this is really a beautiful little song that is happy and sad at the same time.
I can so picture a gentleman who has lost his life long partner walking through the park and thinking these words.
Thanks again ! Maybe if I get my courage up I'll record it.

He was really in a groove. Reminds of the the line from Springsteen's Thunder Road - " I've learned how to make this guitar sing" !
If I could fingerpick 20 % as good as that I think I could be famous.
Thanks for sharing
Jim
the talk box immediately made me think of Graham's post on getting sick from the mic... sounds cool but - urggghhh ! not for me - I'd gag
reminds a bit of Kurt Cobain story a bit.
None the less... the guy was absolutely lights out musician.... He and Frampton were a classic pairing
If I remember correctly Frampton left the band around 1970-71
When I was in college in Pennsylvania in 1974 , he played as Peter Frampton - in our auditorium. My roommate talked me into going... had no idea who he was....Wasn't more than 200 of us idiots in there.
A year later he sold out the Cow Palace in San Francisco about 50,000 attended.... - his album " Frampton comes alive" was a mega hit !
He is 69 now and still on tour !
Love to see him again !
Very tragic story of how he died.
Alcohol, drugs and smoking in bed - not a good combination.
I was just talking with a friend yesterday about all of the famous people that have
" made it" big and then find a way to screw it up and have it all taken away in a flash.
Well ...... I read Ctech and Angela's "stormy skies" post and then was looking around England on the internet since my daughter is there to be in her friends wedding and I found this beautiful park called Richmond. I've never been there but it sounds awesome. Then add Phill's post this morning about - " Hey what are you doing? " So I wasn't really doing anything - but as I was reading about the deer in Richmond Park I started to play my acoustic guitar a bit and it morphed into a 3/4 time little "waltzy" thing. Before I knew it I imagined a love story happening there. This is what I came up with !
Hope you like it and hope the park is as beautiful as it sounds.
fantastic - song
love the addition by angela as well. It is outstanding
WOW - She is absolute perfection - what a voice- what a player- what passion !
Thanks for turning that light on CG - she blew it away for sure!

What Peatle said !!
The instruments in the room - looked like a studio. Any room that she is in definitely would be a great room - instruments or not ! ![]()
Very smooth playing - I enjoyed it.
Thanks for the sahre.
Jim
that was great Graham - I wish I could have such fun!!
JIm
Phill
That would be fabulous - I am looking forward to it.

A few of days ago someone ( I think it was Peatle) on this forum responded to something someone wrote - and used the phrase " any road up". It struck me hard - I wrote it down on a scrap of paper on my desk. I kept looking at it over the past couple days and thinking - there's gotta be a song there somewhere. This morning I woke up at 4:45 and had a couple of the chorus lines in my head. Picked up my guitar and started playing around.... this is what I came up with. I'm sure it will need a few tweaks ![]()
Phill,
I've got a feeling this is gonna sound fabulous - can't wait !
