Good morning everybody.
- What CYTANIA writes is true. Those "LOVE ROCK" TOKAI copy is really very very close to the GIBSON LP. TOKAI produced almost an exact copy of the Gibson Les Paul. Even the headstock was the same, and from a short distance you couldn't see a difference. Gibson started a law suit, and won. I found a lot about TOKAI on www.FlyingVintage.com/gcmag/reborn.html . The pre law suit TOKAI's are a real collectors item. I know that they analyse, very detailed, a humbucker, using electronics (output, sound, everything in fact) to analyse the HUMBUCKER and  make an exact replica. TOKAI lost, and the prices are sometimes higher than a GIBSON. This law suit, GIBSON vs TOKAI, was also a good thing = free publicity.
A second brand is the HERITAGE, I quote: the idea to start Heritage Guitar began when the Gibson Guitar Corporation closed its Kalamazoo, Michigan factory in September of 1984 and moved all production to its other plant in Nashville, Tennessee and the employees could start in Nashville. A disaster for some workers, 100% integrated in MICHIGAN, who couldn't move because of FAMILY reasons: 3 men, decided to start a guitar manufacturing business. 2 other former Gibson Guitar Corporation employees, joined as owners. So in fact, the employees hnew every little Gibson detail. I don't know if Gibson did a law suit.
Jay: I agree with you 100%. I have 2 Gibson LP custom, one made in 1968 (first year they started the custom production again) and a 1976. The most amazing thing for me is the Fender Telecaster, such a sound, such a simplicity.

I don' understand what you want, I am from Belgium, so my mother tongue is Dutch.
But about that RACK-MOUNTABLE HEAD.
You have a cabinet = the big BOX with speakers.
I thought that in my answer was written how great they are
- Line6 Spider III HD75 Guitar Amplifier Head (75 Watts) = $249.95
- Line6 Spider III HD150 Guitar Amplifier Head (2x75 Watts) = $399.95
Isn't this the answer? I looked around on the web, this was what I found.
Maybe you can surf to www.line6.com click on PRODUCTS, CLICK ON AMPS, you will find the SPIDER III in all her glory.
There 10 different LINE6 amps.
- LINE6 CABINET: FEATURES:
    * Slant Cab with 4 – 12† Custom Celestion® Speakers
    * Designed for Spider III HD75 and Spider III HD150

I made it easier, and the next phrase you'll read is about a SPIDER III AMPHEAD
- there are TWO (2) AMPHEADS:
A HD 75 Watt
A HD 150 Watt and this is what they write.
THE SPIDERâ„¢ III delivers detailed amp models based on some of the greatest guitar sounds ever created. To keep these sounds authentic, we kidnapped some of our favourite artists to dial in each amp model.  Now you can rule the stage with the Insane model with its truly massive gain or explore your sensitive side in the studio with the Clean model.  It’s all up to you.
FEATURES:
    * 12 Custom Amp Models from Clean to Insane
    * 7 Smart Control FX (up to 3 simultaneous) including Tape Echo, Sweep Echo, Standard Delay (all with Tap Tempo) Chorus/Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, and Reverb
    * 250 artist-created presets
    * 150 song-based presets
    * Plus 36 user programmable presets
    * Built-in front panel tuner
    * 150 Watts Stereo (75W x 2)
    * Dimensions: 26.4L x 9.25H x 10.75
I had the impression that my answer and all the extra information was correct.
So if this isn't the answer that I wrote you already + extra information about some other ampheads, also describing what I use, I really don't know WHAT I DID WRONG

Charlotte, when I saw your price = 6000$ for a Les Paul, you are really better of to order one on line (after trying it at home) and because of the €+£ versus $$ you can have a top model for 3000$, AND A HOLIDAY for 15 days, and still coming home with 1000$ left.
I had a guitaritis, a very nasty disease, and I, crazy as I am, bued 5 guitars (only the electrics) on eBay. Gibson LP supreme, an SG, and 3 PRS guitars, PRS EG US made. I think that mr Paul Reed was blinded by his success and wanted to fight with Fender. He produced 3 different models with 3 combinations. A PRS EG S-S-S (single coil) a S-S-H(umbucker) and a H-S-H. They were made only from 1990-1992 except for one 1990-1994. I have a US Strat from 1964, and most people prefer the PRS sound with Lindy Fralin domino coils (s-s-s). You can look on eBay to find one. It is extremely rare to find one now, and if you find one, the price is double, on a 16 months period. I really don't have a problem to buy one on eBay, you have to pay for import, but even then it's worth thinking about.
HOLIDAY+GUITAR, sounds so nice. I have one from GRUHN, I phoned, got even the serial number, and a friend gave me a document that he sold me that guitar, with that number 6 months before. NAUGHTY BOY, but it's a game.

BONE, thanks. This song is in fact an interpretation based on another song. PROBLEM: I always tell to use more simple chords, result: again "not so easy chords" and also the first TWO lines, are calm, but the next to a little bit different, same chords but MORE PASSION.
I am hoping to use asap my little recording device (BOSS BR 600). It worked, using 4 canals and a virtual, I played some "bluesy" riffs, starting in A, D, E. Next some bending strings based on E and finally some stuff in G and B. If you would here this together it's a real cacophonie, but that machine, pushing some  and sliding other stuff, I really don't know how, but this CACOPHONIE, was even pretty good, something with arrangements and virtual tracks, compressing it all into one entity. There was an English manual, but I found the Dutch translation. It took me 2 hours, and I am really impatient if I have to read manuals. I need to find how to add rhythm patterns. If it works, I will try to post it on myspace, just instrumental, 60 seconds.

DOLLIE, thanks. What I wrote about me, I wanted to delete it several times.
I decided to keep it, just because of a few facts who made me as I am today.
- I lost everything, I am an extremely rare case because almost no one is that high insured.
I have good days, I have bad days, I earned a lot, I spend a lot, and even more after 09/2000, I live today, I don't know about tomorrow + that money is great. Most people (99%, this is what the chief taxman told me, are NOT insured or just have an extra insurance. Add a partner who can't live like that and you end up as homeless disabled person.) I am overinsured but no money in the world can give my physical condition back. It makes my life easier, but I wanted to do so many things. Imagine: always depending on somebody, I can't walk without crouches = no walking, very difficult to prepare something to eat, washing dishes ALL history. This is why I didn't delete it, it can be useful to others. I used to say " a far away from my bed show" until it happens to you. I even tried to find a new job while everyone told me to STOP doing this. I can't and won't accept this, it's impossible and a lot worse than what I tell. Is this trying to be stronger than they say, or is stupidity? I go for stupidity. Same thing with my restless mind, behaviour. Better with partner, a lot worse since being alone.
I hope that other chordians can use this information. I am quit happy if I don't start thinking too much.
Love ya

We have a nice discussion about the sixties and seventies. Some great answers, like TOPDOWN sais, would there be a SRV without Jimi Hendrix.
I am convinced about this, every performer or band is influenced by another.
WHAT IF YOU SHOULD SEE A CONCERT WITH BOTH: STEVIE RAY VAUGHN versus JIMI HENDRIX.
WHO WOULD BE THE WINNER OF THIS GUITAR - HERO CLASH?

We all know the phenomenon of "SUPER GROUPS" starting BIG but ending soon caused by EGO'S.
- CREAM, BLIND FAITH, DEREK AND THE DOMINOES, all Clapton. BUT WHO REMEMBERS THIS SUPER-SUPERGROUP: DIRTY MAC, who only played two songs at one high-profile gig—the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus in 1968.
The group consisted of John Lennon, Clapton, Keith Richards on bass and Mitch Mitchell of the Jimi Hendrix Experience on drums. Can you believe this?
-Crosby, Stills and Nash with or without Young = BYRDS, THE HOLLIES, BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD.
- Emerson, Lake & Palmer (Keith Emerson (The Nice) Greg Lake (King Crimson) Carl Palmer (Atomic Rooster).
- Bad Company, ASIA with Steve Howe (Yes) and Carl Palmer. Who knows this band:
THE FIRM (1984) with 2 albums, and members Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company) Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) Tony Franklin (Roy Harper) Chris Slade (Uriah Heep)
-TRAVELLING WILBURY'S = George Harrison (The Beatles)  Bob Dylan Tom Petty (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra) Roy Orbison.
If I'm not wrong also The Good, The Bad & The Queen.
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ABOUT THIS PHENOMENON, and except of CREAM, they should be or have an extreme popularity.
COMMON START AND POST YOUR OPINION & COMMENT.

I don't know a lot about names, or changing names in the USA.
- VINCENT FURNIER aka ALICE COOPER, wasn't this the name of his band? Didn't he change his name into Alice Cooper?
- Women: even after divorce, there are a lot of women, keeping the name of their husband. Like Demi Moore, is this a legal act? and why are so many people using their husband's name? Like Hillary CLINTON, who's name is in fact Hillary RODHAM.
Here in Belgium, some women use their husbands name, but they keep their names.
- What is the price to change a name?
- Kirk Douglas = Issur Danielovitch, is this change authorised?

YEEHA, I tricked you. I agree, I thought about it, not about a tune, melody I have a "head ful" of tunes, at least 100 different, and 50 sometimes similar to existing songs I heard on TV or Radio.
I think this happens all the time. JUST GO TO YOUTUBE, write PLAGIARISM and you will see & hear a lot of VERY similar almost IDENTICAL songs. I feel worse (PHYSICAL) and a lot of people notice this, I start thinking, also too much. I've had some really bad days, and this is so unfair. Because of thinking, fighting, writing and despite all my documents, I even get 160$ extra every month from the government, which is very uncommon, in stead of being happy, it really hurts, because it proves that my condition is really serious, also the fact that I really get a lot of money just for suffering and doing nothing. I lost everything, my girlfriend, an independent nurse who worked 7/7 days leaving at 05.30 to return at 22.30, she was EGOCENTRIC, she hated everyone who came to see me = big relieve. I lost my pride, my self-esteem, my work (=my life, but responsible for my private life where I failed a few times) I had the most beautiful women, my "joye de vivre", my courage, my social life=almost at home 24 hours a day. I am even not aware which day it is. It is a relieve when I compare this with a guy who runs his own business, renting DVD's living in fact just like me, every day is the same, add on top my RESTLESS MIND, giving me the opportunity to do 3 different things at the same time. THAT is really awful. I discovered the why, by doing an IQ test IN ENGLISH (www.tickle.com) and having 147 as IQ, add 20-25 in my language. This problem, and I can guarantee you, is/was killing me and is a curse and not a blessing. I started to understand a lot of events in my life, like being considered as a freak on school, able to memorise 200 pages (A4 size) a day, walking through a museum in 1 hour, and knowing more than a person who looked to everything in one day. Doing 4 things together, starting with A, but in stead of B, I am jumping from A to Z to return to A, giving the impression that I didn't listen, but knowing exactly what he told, always knowing and giving an answer on questions they wanted to ask. I don't know why I write this, but that's me and I can't controle it. My strongest point is also my weakest point. I am who I am, more assertive but at the same time more sensitive and not so self assured. That's me, also why I write long answers, or topics. I have nobody now, only CHORDIE, this site changed me a lot. Sorry for all this, and I will post songs, even using a lot of difficult but nice chords. YOU ARE ALL SO GREAT, NICE and REAL FRIENDS for me, or "cyber friends". It is a big relieve writing this, I just wannabe loved.

Boot, I agree, but I don't have ONE CLUE about the difference between Chicago blues and St Louis, over Memphis to New Orleans and TEXAS.
SRV was maybe the BIG MAN who spread the word, the blues, I kust remember that this kind of music was music of the devil in the "conservative and racist eyes." speaking end 50ties, and 60ties. In fact British sailors took that music home, and a lot of British FRESH and NEW BANDS: The YARDBIRDS are considered as the band who played "imported blues" and sending it back to the States. Also JOHN MAYALL and the BLUEBREAKERS, that man is responsable for a few of the most important guitar players we ever known. Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Peter Green (Fleetwood Mc), Mick Taylor and whatever they played, PSYCHEDELIC music, they all returned back to the blues. I surfed a long time yesterday and found a lot about blues. BUT never the different styles, maybe it's my lucky day, today

I am really scared when I change strings. Long time ago, I started with the little E-string, followed by a B-string and when trying to tune that guitar, the B snapped, and hit my face. It 's been 30 years ago, but even today, and having strings, I am scared. So maybe I should buy a tuning machine, you put it on the guitar head, on a string tuning knob, and it winds the string real automatic.

Boot, mi amigo, I could ask it right on that other topic about a meeting. I go since 2months very early to bed 21.15, weird, I had a dream, familiar frase, about the chordian reunion. All of you had even faces. Why this story: because I would come from Brussels to the USA, and if the $$ is still so magnificent low for us, I'll buy a guitar right there.
The big brands = THE GREAT 3, even seeing that some acoustic models like takamine sell better. It's logic too = WHO HAS THE MONEY or GETS that MONEY, being 13-14 years old. I certainly didn't start with a Gibson, oeps sorry, I did BUT ELECTRIC. Acousdtic a YAMAHA F??, it is weird that this guitar hasn't moved in price since 30 years. SHOULD we able to have sponsors, like a new brand, not so big, but VERY GOOD, I really want so bad a "custom" made guitar about that, we kn,ow eachother.
Thanks boot.

I did write a similar topic, or better  a QUESTION.
- WHY are we still so "hooked" on music from the sixties. (IF YOU TAKE 1968, it seems now in 2008 as if it was yesterday: IMAGINE THIS 1968 + 40 years = 2008 and compare 1968 - 40 years = 1928!!!!!!!) If you look at this years, IT'S UNBELIEVABLE.)

- When did the sixties really end? WOODSTOCK? or after the dead of Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morisson, Janis Joplin? I don't know.
- What I know is: hippie culture, better A WHOLE LIFE STYLE, starting in the USA, were followed by similar cultures in Europe, always 3-5 years later.
- 1968 was this the "highlight"of the sixties, protest, world wide riots and great music. BUT what was the attitude of the conservative US citizens versus these "long-heard"youngsters. They claimed that they were anti capitalists, and today: most of the same anti materialistic groups became very rich.
- SO WHAT IS LEFT OF THIS MOVEMENT, WHERE AND WHY DID IT START and WHEN & WHY DID IT STOP? A lot of people think that the sixties were over, after the ALTAMONT Rolling Stones concert, where somebody was killed by the Hell's Angels. (DO THEY STILL EXIST?).
WHAT MADE THE SIXTIES  SO SPECIAL?
In 1973 I went to a concert of T-Rex, Marc Bolan on high heels, lipstick, weird clothes. Even the STONES didn't escape: GLAM ROCK= trying to add female stuff. Wasn't it strange even very funny to see Mick Jagger almost dressed like a woman?

ABOUT MUSIC, AGAIN: Why are a lot of people addicted to music from the Sixties.
Why do we remember more the attitude of 7ties bands than their music?

PUNK: A so called European phenomenon, starting with the SEX PISTOLS, is not correct. The SP manager Malcolm Mc Laren saw a concert of the New York Dolls, and back in the UK he manufactured and created an unknown style. I still remember me a lot of young people with "strange" hair, all the colours of the rainbow.
WHERE DID IT START, WHERE DID IT END.
I can still smell the "PATCHOULI". I had long hair, a beard and when studying I had to cut my hair. WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES, IMPRESSIONS about a "standing stone" era?

It's just a STOOPID (I prefer this in stead of STUPID.)
The melody is quit "catchy", but let 100 people play this melody, only a few play it as I do, and this is probably for all songs.
I really had fun too, finally, I could laugh with myself. That Ken was a relieve.
As you know my entire life is DOMINATED by that crash, and I make absolutely no progression. It gets worse. It's not funny to see your 77 years old mother crying, but never in front of me. She phones to my sisters, or brothers. They did surgery in September 2005, 6 weeks hospital, to put all the little bones in my left foot together, with the intention to block it, in a 90° position, I can't move this foot (before I could turn my foot 180°, so one foot toes pointing forwards, the other toes pointing backwards.) A 100% success, but, probably because of the surgery, it resulted in a free fall. My BIGGEST child dream, Doc on a cruise ship, was really the end. Accepted, but 1 month later rejected, they had the right to ask all medical information.
I am a skilled hypnotist too, if I want, or better could, I could earn a lot giving shows. Only problem= standing and look right in the eyes of sitting people= domination,in a wheelchair not.
I do have a song about this too. But I decided to STOP POSTING SONGS HERE because I really suck: melody & lyrics. You won't no longer see another song. Maybe on myspace, if I am able to work with my Boss BR 600.
These lyrics are stupid, this was my purpose AND a goodbye song. I continue to play, and improve THOSE skills. I know at least 50-70 chords, I can play these too, and I love switching.

Russell, 4 against 1. But if you play electric and very loud, some extra effects, you won't hear the difference. I saw 2-3 timers a guy playing on a Squier, followed by a Mexican strat, and a US Strat
It was not easy to hear a difference.
For acoustic guitars, it is very important, but more wood = more $$, and going for real good wood = $$$$$$.

- Line6 Spider Guitar Speaker Cabinet (150 Watts, 4x12 in.) $299.95 on www.Zzounds.com
List: $419.99 = the regular maximum price price
Line6 Spider III HD75 Guitar Amplifier Head (75 Watts) = $249.95
Line6 Spider III HD150 Guitar Amplifier Head (2x75 Watts) = $399.95
You can think about taking another amp head like: Marshall MG100HDFX 100 W = $349.95.
Factory comment: is best suited to the Celestion loaded MG412A (angled) and MG412B (straight) 120W 4x12 in. cabinets. Unbelievable tone, feel, and projection come as standard.
So about your cabinet you did well. Amp heads? As you see, the marshall is in between as is the price. If you can afford it, this one is a killer. If you love effects, distortion, that's the one, no floorboard effects needed.
- Line 6 Spider Valve 100HD 100W Guitar Amp Head = $799.99 on www.musiciansfriend.com.
As you see, a 150W should be great, if you perform somewhere, see and compare.
Do you like effects, a lot, look to some AMP HEADS or FLOORBOARDS.
My amps (3) are a
- Marshall Valvestate: price??? I have this one 12 years
- Marshall AS100D Acoustic Combo Amp 100W. I didn't want at all an acoustic 100W. I went for a 50W. I am a very good customer in the 2 major guitar stores, they know me, and what they tell is the truth, I played both, 20 seconds later: 100W I also use this amp a lot for my electrics.
- My TOP AMP: A Fender Cybertwin = hybrid amp, tubes and digital, too much effects, other amps (modeling), this baby blows you far away, just your shoes will be on their place. 2x75W
- EFFECTS: Line 6 PODXT live, I had a digitech (fantastic board) but I wanted the POD so bad that I traded the digirech. Still regret this. In fact all floor boards are less important, see cybertwin.
I hope you are able to choose, I knoww these amps, they rock.

I don't remember the reactions when I posted a similar question. I suggest:
- if not in 2008  (there are enough probably a lot who want to participate, but have financial difficulties. So EVERYONE has the time to save money.
- it should be great, playing together, learn a lot, and teach something
- going public, for all the EUROPEANS taking benefit of the € versus $
- play with 3-5 people = BUSKING with a BIG HAT in front, and a 6th to count all the money.
- camping, 6 packs, BBQ. And me, talking about Vegas????!!!!
- it would be even better if this MEETING, PLAYING has a few sponsors. Like wearing T-shirts with the name of a big music store, or HEINEKEN, Coca Cola. I AM 100% convinced that this sponsorship can be a reality.
IT MUST BE GREAT, I am already dreaming.
