I was thinking yesterday about different aspects of my guitar action, playablilty, etc. , and a thought occured to me. When I put my capo on the 1 fret, I noticed that it gave a very easy bar chord close to the capo, and still didn't buzz further or close. So I don't know much about this, but why is it that whenever people lower the action, they say to lower the saddle? why not leave the saddle the same and lower the nut? Cuz with that angle, you get easy playability close to the nut and first few frets. and about the same further up. Helps a lot with those killer bar chords people are complaining about, like F and Bb right on the first fret.

any  opinions? Do I make myself clear?

Can anybody give me some tab or something of and acoustic song that's got some good guitar parts too it, not too hard, but interesting? Like not just chords, I'm looking to improve a bit from strumming chords or just simple melodies to both combined or interesting acoustic riffs and parts and such. Anybody got some suggestions?

thanks

oh and thanks Jay..... I'll check it out.
But I don't have a strap button on mine...  it's a full body classical.  I'd have to get a hole put in the   bottom....

Hey everyone.
I was just looking for a little info on pickups, such as, are those exterior type of like stick on the outside of your guitar pickups decent??  how bout transducer pickups?? what type pick up would you recommend for a acoustic or classical  guitar  that has no electronics whatsoever?

And would you know how much on average it would cost to put a hole in the bottom for that jack or whatever??

Thanks!!!

Mark

Andres Segovia is incredible!!!!!!    I have  Cd of his and it's addicting. I can't stop  listening to it.
haha I'm just about to do my grade four exam too and I've been playing only a little longer than you. I'm 14. playing for a little less than five......

I play mostly Classical guitar on my Almansa 457, and I Love it. I've been playing for like five years.
Are there any others on this site? Everything I see is about acoustic and electric.

The Spiritual world does exist.  there are so many freaky stories I could tell you about from my sisters, who went on a mission trip to an Indian reservation in South Dakota, who worshiped spirits. They said they could feel them everywhere, and had a bunch of stories which I can't remember.

I have an Ibanez PF something, Yamaha C40, cheap piece of wood, and a lovely Almansa 457 Classical. I played it once and I wouldn't settle for anything else...

Well I got this Ibanez for free from a friend, but the action was really high and hard to play. So I got it lowered.   He took twice as long as he should of, and he did a pathetic job, so now it's always buzzing. I usually play with light strings, but I switched to medium to see if that would help. It did a bit, but I don't wanna try hard and it's still buzzes a lot.
My question:
Is there much more involved in raising the action other than putting in a new saddly thingy, lowering it to the desired height, gluing in back in, and restringing it? cuz I've been thinking about doing it myself.

many thanks!
