LOL!

I'm guessing that's a grandson?  SUPER CUTE!

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!

Any other suggestions for January?  No doubt we've had a few new offerings into the Songwriting section recently!  You're welcome to suggest your own song, or someone else's!  smile

Hmmmm.... anyone trying these two songs out?  Winter Wonderland and I Believe in Father Christmas?  Anyone?  Bueller?

Q. What is this section of the forums for?
A - This section of the forums is for asking other forum members if they can help you out with a song that you're unable to find the chords to!  There's quite a few members here that are MAGIC!  They can listen to a song and just know what chords are being played!  Ain't that cool?

Q. That is cool!  So if I post in here, they'll write up the song for me?
A - Not quite.  As our Admin has said, full lyrics and chords for copyright songs are not allowed in the forums.  This is a legal issue.  Plus, no one's doing it for a living and everyone's time is valuable.  What may happen, is another member may help you out by posting a link where you can find the song already figured out elsewhere.  They may provide you with a basic list of the chords that are played in the song.  They may also WANT to write the whole thing out for you (or already have a version of it saved) and email you PRIVATELY with the whole song.  That would be awesome, but let's not just expect it.  smile

Q.  What if I KNOW where a song is located on the net, and I would like it to be added into the Chordie index?
A - That's awesome!  This isn't the place for it though.  As our Admin has said, "Chordie does not host any songs. It finds and formats songs located elsewhere on the Internet."    To request a song get added to the index, please first review the FAQ's to ensure the song format is doable , and then send the link via email to our Admin.  He will consider adding the song to the Chordie search function the next time he indexes the site.  This won't happen overnight, it's a LOT of work to add new songs after checking links and ensuing the formatting will work.  It may not happen at all if the Admin feels the song is not popular enough to bother with.  This website is FREE to use, so understand that some things can take time some times.  smile  Thanks!

WELCOME BACK!

I just took a little peek at your post history - and it looks like you've been gone for about 2 years (from posting that is).  Awe... missed ya!  I think you may have been on the list for one of the get togethers here in Central NY back then... though your injury was still causing quite a few issues at the time.  I'm glad to hear you've found a way to work around it!  YAY!  The "mekids-family" generally makes time to get to the gathering Uncle Joe's Band (UJB - AKA:  Joe) holds in PA.  Between that, our own gathering here, and a possible trip a hair more west this year, I don't know that we'll be able to make another... however... it may be something we'd consider in 2018!  I do hope though that you can either make it to Joe's or our gathering this year.  It sounds like you might just be ready!

Good to see you around again Butch!

Ah well, at least Facebook had the good sense to just mute you for a couple days rather than ban you completely.  Frustrating though I'm sure.  Interestingly enough, I manage a facebook business page for work and we simply ban people from posting on the page rather than report them to Facebook.  I wonder why the person didn't just report you to the group and have them remove or ban you.  I'm surprised Facebook didn't just suggest that to them as well.  You must have said something REALLY bad!  I didn't think FB's moderation was all that strict!  You'll have to send me a msg and give me all the details when you get access again!  wink

I haven't, but I've read a lot of good stuff about it in the past!  smile  Sounds like your son has good taste and has either done is research, or is smart enough to trust another good musician (and know the difference)!  Make sure you give us a review after the holidays!

Hey all!  I just got an email from our Good Buddy Bill.  It appears his blood pressure's been a bit high, so he's having a medication change and needs to minimize excitement and relax for a while.  It sounds like he'll be busy playing his new guitar and chilling out with his lovely Dondra.  He's said he may be MIA for a bit due to this, but not to worry... he says.  So, let's hope the change works and helps resolve the problem with his BP.  If all goes well, I'm sure he'll be back here tickling our bellies again soon with his wit and wisdom!

JJJ - You ALWAYS behave yourself here in Chordieland.  As a mod, I thank you for that.  As for facebook... ha ha ha ha ha!  I'm kind of not surprised, but all the same, perhaps you need to figure out who it was and give 'em the boot!  wink

I do like the colors!  Congrats on your new baby, Jim!  Once upon a time I thought I'd try to figure out how to play one of those electrical dodads too, but I'm not doing too well!  I hope your New Year resolution works out!  wink  Grace us with some music!

Hey Zen - it's the LAST part of that sticky that is the most important part, "However if you post songs on a site that does host songs (and they must be in Chopro format) you can have Chordie access it and it will appear here. Send the information of the song and it's location to: admin@chordie.com"

Thing is, the moderators do not have control over the rest of the website.  We only moderate the forums.  The site admin would need to determine if the song(s) could/should be added.  He then has to do a significant amount of work to actually add those songs.  He doesn't do this on a daily or weekly basis, so it may take a while before new songs are added to the index.  In the meantime, if you find songs you would like to suggest get added, please email the information to the website administrator and he will take it into consideration upon his next review.  smile  THANKS!!!

You should be able to add it to your song book for further editing as well.  wink

Amy I dont get it, I have put it in in the right format< why wont it show up correctly, but thank you! I transferred it to songster and was able to print it prior to your doin it for me.  I am not the only one with this issue I think, because others have it showing up like this.

The forum software isn't playing nice with chopro formatting.  I "hacked" it to make it work.  wink

Here's some instructions, and if you'd like access to my little mini-website to upload original songs here so you can add them to your songbook on chordie and print and make em beautiful and all, just let me know (you can also make your own little mini-website for free on google sites if you prefer) :  https://sites.google.com/site/chordieso … /resources

Bill, we're glad that you are happy and working on those callouses! As I explained to Bill in a very VERY long winded letter, when Jim and I heard that he had sold his other acoustics, and he was looking at a used Fender, we decided then (gah, it was quite a while ago) that he should have this guitar.  While Jim liked it for quite a while, he had moved on from it and it was just sitting around looking pretty and collecting dust on my daughter's wall (she went for the Uke instead).  We felt Bill would get much better use out of it than what we may or may not get on trade.  As a few other Chordians have been quite kind to us over the years in similar fashion, it was only right to Pay It Forward!  smile

I think Bert is adorable, and should hang around the thread. I'm sorry he's no longer with you though.  sad  Do you have any other pets, Bill?  We have a couple dogs, and as much as I'd like a cat, one of our dogs seems to think they are food (and that's how we lost our last cat).  The kids often try to convince me of ways we could get around that problem, and if they keep it up, it could just happen one of these days.  I miss having a cat around (especially since I live in an old house and it's Winter now... the mice are trying to move in).

Ok, ok, ok... Bill was actually trying to share THIS picture (ha ha, just had to check the email!  silly girl!)

beautiful!  smile  It's a simple song, but powerful thought behind it.  Thanks for sharing Jim, and thanks Phill for the recording!

I just did a little searching in the Songwriting section myself - I really liked this one by Mojo (no name song):  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=30300
I think he did a nice job on his recording, but with such simple chords, it could be done a bunch of different ways (even Beamer could get in on this one I think).

KAP!  How good it is to see you!  Been a while huh?  smile  Hope you're doing well up North and not buried in too much snow yet. It's coming tonight (again) for us.  It's been a while since I heard that song!  wink

I totally missed this!  I'm so glad everything went well for you TF!  Hopefully you're on your way home or will be soon, so you can relax and hopefully eat some good food.  Unless Canadian hospitals are filled with awesome food?  Makes sure you're getting up and doing the PT they want you to do when it's time.  Enjoy the downtime when you need to rest it too.  I'm glad to hear the pain is so minimal for you after surgery.  That 3rd picture up there is kind of creepy... looks like they hack your leg right in half!  LOL!  Glad they could put you back together again in good shape!

smile  Nice holiday wishes from you guys.  smile  Thanks!  I hope you also have a great holiday - be it summer or winter where you are.  We'll see if we can get something put up for ya in return.

Bill - your dementia sounds a lot like unintentional procrastination.  I mean that in the most loving way possible, because as you know, I'm a master of intentional procrastination!

Hey hey hey!  UDnBW!  I just wanted to pop in here to say hi!  I'm NOT too helpful with songwriting, but I have been watching the thread.  So just wanted you to get another big ole WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!  I see you've been around since '08!  What the heck took you so long to chat us up in here?  Please do visit some of the other sections, we'd love to have you chat around with us about all the other bologna we chat about in here.  smile

Also - once you've got a version of this song you're happy with, let me know.  I can give you a little Chordie present so you can add the song into your Chordie songbook all formatted and pretty, ready to print!  smile
