I was looking and searching how to post a song & lyrics.
Thanks to some people, I am finally able to see, in this songwriter topic, songs with the chords in a blue colour and a chord diagram.
IT'S AMAZING. A little bit more work, but YES, I tried it, following every line and rule, resulting in a song with lyrics AND blue chords on top.

IT IS A MYSTERY FOR ME HOW, USING THIS METHOD, HOW A SONG, FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS, APPEARS, IN YOUR TOPIC. WITH THESE CHORDS ON TOP OF EACH LINE AND EVEN THE CHORD DIAGRAMS.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE, FOR ME IT'S A MIRACLE, I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE COMPUTER REACTS ON THIS, AND PUTS YOUR SONG NICE AND BEAUTIFUL. Is this a special "something", recognised by a PC?
In fact, I can work pretty good with a PC, and as usual, I don't like theory = autodidact.
I DON'T HAVE A CLUE HOW YOU DID THIS
RESPECT, RESPECT AND RESPECT FOR HE OR SHE WHO CREATED THIS

As usual, spending a lot of time surfing on the internet, it is really amazing what you find. Today, thanks to myspace and youtube, you are able (90%) to HEAR how they sound. It is of course still better to hold a guitar in your hands and to play it, but these 2 websites give you already an idea.
Some questions, and answers.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BABY(Taylor, Martin and some other guitars) AND A REGULAR GUITAR. They speak about 3/4, but I am not familiar with this, and I didn't play one, on my last visit in a guitar store. It's getting more and more difficult for me to walk.

WHY BABY BOOM?
I discover more and more brands producing a "baby" guitar.
- BABY TAYLOR
- BABY MARTIN
- MATON (as told, an unknown brand) has also Mini Maton Series
- SEAGULL seems to have one too: MJM6 Mini Jumbo & MJM6 CW GT QII  (more expensive)
- DEAN has two "baby" electric guitars.
Can you consider these guitars as regular guitars, like using them to perform, or in a studio?

I don't think that a similar topic exists. Since I have plenty of time, I am surfing a lot on the internet
Now and then, I find guitars, really good looking and not so cheap brands.
I discovered a few minutes ago some brands
- MICHAEL KELLY: Never heard of it, and reasonable prices: $469.99 for a Michael Kelly Patriot Black Electric Guitar. Also producing acoustic guitars.
- MATON GUITARS: an Australian brand, also never heard about this branded, discovered while reading an article about Tommy Emmanuel, a superb finger picking performer, seen on youtube. You can check it = great sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zurf, dear friend, you just added some nice information. As we all know, some guitar stores, have "big deal" promotion days. I used to go, when still working, there was no choice. It's incredible to "study" this phenomenon. Like you said, 5 people all playing or better trying to play "Smoke on the Water", my water was smoking after 1 visit. Worst problem = all the solos you hear.
It would be a genial idea to record all this, and using this with PC software, making a "kind of song"

The more I read, the happier I am, there are really great jokes. I love the BUSH in the UK joke.

Before 1960, CONGO was a colony belonging to Belgium. A white man takes the plane to Congo, and he noticed that all other passengers are Africans. Suddenly the plane looses hight, and the captain asks: people, we are loosing hight, there is something wrong, it will help us if we drop all the luggage. Luggage gone, 30 minutes later: this is again your captain speaking, we have to loose more weight because we still loose hight, can you throw all the seats outside please. 10 minutes later, all the seats where throwed out that plane. 1 hour later, this is your captain again, we are approaching our destination but we need to loose extra weight, so if all passengers start jumping at the same time on the air plane floor, that floor will fall dawn caused by vibrations. They all jumped, and all were hanging with their arms on the luggage compartments, and yes, the floor felt down. 15 minutes before destination, here is the captain again, we will crash, except if one of the passengers falls down. The white man looked around, all those dark eyes looking at him, and said, OK, I get the point, but at least you can give me an applause for my sacrifice.

In addition to the "what is your first song topic" by: wade mc , I liked to know, it will be probably again a kind of small battle USA vs EUROPE, what song(s) you hear almost every visit in a music store.
DO YOU LOVE TO GO IN A CROWDED MUSIC STORE? It is even difficult to talk to a sales man.
Imagine a few dozen of people playing drums, guitars, bas guitars, not much.

Important is that during the week, not on a Saturday, there are less people.
On a Saturday, or when you receive from your store(s) an invitation, because of bargains, I am really confused. Everyone is playing, people on drums, a lot of young people "showing how good they are", playing a solos like SRV, or other hard rock music. I loose really my concentration, hearing 3x stairway to heaven, all the hotel californias, add different drum styles, and solos, you better leave that store, unless you really know what you want.
Am I alone with this experience, and what's the reason to see all those people showing their skills?

My first song was "The house of the rising sun", considered here as a "must", followed by a primitive version of "Stairway to heaven".

Shabby, do you mind to use this in my topic about street busking?
This is a story, fitting very well there.
You describe exactly what I asked, like people versus buskers. Their attitude, your disappointment.
It is sad in a way, and your topic tells a lot about the Government too.

An underestimated useful item, enough to hear opinions.

When I play guitar, I always use a plectrum.
You have different kinds, different brands. I prefer DUNLOP. I prefer flexible plectrums, used some Martin picks (got them in Finland, Helsinki) they are all broken. Dunlop: no problem.
My favourite plectrum is a grey dunlop .73. I used the white picks .38 (very fragile) and have 2 black picks (1.0).
The best pick for me is the .73. Flexible and strong.
ABOUT PLAYING GUITAR:
- If you play, or strum, hitting your strings, on an electric guitar, what plectrum is used? a hard or a soft?
- Is there a difference in sound, using different picks?

I use almost always the .73, because they are strong and flexible. I never liked real hard picks.
What plectrum do you, chordians prefer? and do you use another pick for another guitar?
Some people use light strings (as I do) others use thicker strings. I noticed that you can "create" a lot more sound with a hard pick, what about the strings?

Thanks a lot. I try more and more to "something similar to finger picking", in combination with strumming.
I, so people tell me, play guitar pretty well. This might be true but I am not satisfied.
I regret now the fact that I never took guitar class, and even worse, that I left music school, just because I don't like theory, hating all theories.
Rebel, I did the same thing, cut 2-3 plectrums from a creditcard.
Slowly I start to learn more and more finger picking.

The lyrics of the first band, I WILL TRANSLATE THEM. It is a "dialect" spoken in a regio, it will be very difficult to translate it, without loosing the "essence"= FIXSKES.
- what about copyrights, even having permission? that translation will not be published, too difficult, even mailing me about the song.
You find them on youtube, just search STASH.
The video is great, it is as it sung by others (Belgium singers), His English is difficult to understand.
What use has that organ here? what about the band? CHANGE ARRANGEMENTS, CHANGE MEMBERS, KEEP THE MELODY, and this song should have the opportunity to score in the USA.

That guy, ARNO is a great guy. It is a lot better now but 20 years ago ( I don't k,now the word) he was sssppee kkkinggg like that. Where are you ARNO, my friend.
I am the guilty one in breaking a big contract & tour, 20 years ago. (Including a world famous band)
REASON:
I was well known, which was logic being always backstage Doc and, separated from press photographers, you had the bands, in trailers going from small to XXL and every year the same faces. It is, thinking now about this, like a dream. The lead guitar  player, learned me how to play it, it isn't that easy. My facourite song is the one where he plays the pianio, to sing about his
mother's eyes. I will try to translate, because the 3 songs on youtube, still have a high hit potential, they (Arno) has even no time to focus on the American market.
I agree, at least that "Arno" guy, but he use quit often profanity. That other band: FIXKES are very new, but very good.
There is still ONE song, having a great "hit potential" but even loving that song I am really irritated because of the very lousy and wrong arrangements. It's strange, since I am a chordian, I started analysing songs = band - how do they play (guitar drums bass)- the voice of the singer and I listen more and more to the lyrics, who are today known by kids inluenced by TV- English

The name of that band is STASH, song SADNES. It is one (SUBJECTIVE!!!) of the best songs I heard. With proper arrangements, using correct instruments, they have a 75% chance to have a hit in the states. BETTER: If you use his melody, changing or not, the lyrics, played by a professional... :)   :(

They act a lot less violent than in the USA, but as it is : you will find and this is for every profession, some d**heads, who are kicking on their uniform. Also in a hospital, when you see a MD, most are working to specialise in cardiology, surgeon ... There are some, always dressed in green and a white coat, FULL OF USELESS THINGS: Beepers, 10 Parkers, 2 stethoscopes, one around the neck and one in a pocket. WHAT IF SOMEBODY, LIKE A VISITOR WOULD SAY, HE NURSE. I hate, and I am still modest people who find themselves so important. I have a friend, USA native, but with a "Spanish name", who made fortune in Seattle, and was chosen to be the head of the Seattle Police. He was driving with a Lincoln through a "Spanish" quarter, they stopped him, acted very aggressive, beated him in the back of the knees, so he felt on his knees, insulting him with words as dirty "spic", you stole that car, until one of the police officers recognised him from CNN, no harm done, no apologies, only you were driving in a dangerous area. They didn't know at all, because he didn't mention that police fact, and a few days later, he invited them in his office. They start almost crying, begging, but he just told them: if I suspend all of you, your family would be punished even more.
I am not sure here, but we are a CHAMPION of keeping, guilty or not, people in jail for 1 month, and depending on the judge, you can stay there sometimes a few months, BEFORE trial.

AS YOU SEE, THIS TOPIC IS A LOT BETTER than the previous one.
Playing guitar on public places.
Are there chordians who have experience with this phenomenon?
You don't have to be a busker to answer, due to my condition I am still able, but it becomes more and more difficult, to leave my house, and going to a market, or a subway, a station. Sorry folks, I just can't.
That's the reason why I post this topic, some years ago I loved to drive around in my car and to go to a lot of places. Often I saw buskers, and these fantastic "South-American" bands, dreaming away while they ware playing songs like "EL CONDOR PASA"

Is it a difficult topic? I have a big respect for "street musicians". Some of them are real good, and others have the "guts" to play, only knowing 12 chords, and a few songs.
- What about the law?, what about copyrights?
- What about a good song choice = what kind of songs will attract your audience?
- What about money, do buskers have problems with the taxman?
- What about the best place?
- What if another busker, is sitting 40 ft from your spot?
- What about the money, can somebody who lost everything, except his voice and guitar survive?
- What about BEING ON HOLIDAY, with a friend and your guitars, playing a couple of hours, to pay their expenses?

If I have a song, a combination of strumming and picking, I can give you an example:
- GREEN RIVER by Creedence Clearwater Revival
How can I post that style of playing, bluesy, and using the small E string and B-string, MIXED in that song, giving an opportunity  to see and play.
I am not really a genious concerning TABS, I have always difficulties.
I will try again to post a song.

I see quit often a piece of a song, and on top of the lyrics I notise
- BLUE CHORD NAMES (A, E...)
- CHORD DIAGRAMS.

HOW can you post this and use it in your topic?

You're right bonedaddy, I forgot it, this is the intro. D6add9, a BIG name for a stupid chord.
It is very simple, just take a D chord, as usual, but remove the second finger
x  x  x  x  x  x
x  x  x  o  x  o
and you go up to fret five, and 7, and back down, without changing your finger position.

My G6 is like this
x  o  x  x  x  x
o  x  x  x  o  x

How can you put those
- coloured chord names
- diagrams in here?

What cytania writes is veru accurate and correct.
I had some time to check it and the guitar you encounter almost always is a FENDER TELECASTER.
If it works with a telecaster, it has to work with a Les Paul studio too.
Important as told is, plug it in and turn the knobs on your amp, I'm sure you will find "satisfaction".
I think, having a few devices, and 3 floorboards, that for not too many $$, you can try a floorboard, with a 90% chance to find the correct sound, but also giving you 100 other effects..
I have a Epip^hone Sheraton, a REAL GOOD guitar. But follow the advise, contact your music store, take your LP studio, or use one of them, and ask how to use that guitar + amp to have a nice country tune.

This here is an example of the different "mentality, attitude" between the USA and Europe, UK included.
These reactions are always surprising me, and I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CAUSE.
Who decides events like this, or burning albums: WHY? I am sure that religion plays a role. I love the USA, the people, but there are facts I will never understand. THE LAND OF THE FREE!! I went to Florida 15 years ago, and to Orlando, alone, wife and daughter at home, I had too much work and needed to escape.
When I stood in a long line, all people waiting for passport control, the tip of my foot was 1 cm over the white line, and a few seconds later, a police-woman, touched my foot with her "base ball stick", almost SHOUTING, can't you read, behind the white lines!!! I was really very surprised. I agree, you need discipline, respect, but it was just the way of telling it. Also, if a police officer stops your car, in the rain, and almost dark, wearing reflecting sunglasses.
But here some songs
- WATERLOO                                                     ABBA
- WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN                                 THE BANGLES
- BACK IN THE USSR                                         THE BEATLES
- IN THE AIR TONIGHT                                       PHIL COLLINS
- A VIEW TO KILL                                               DURAN DURAN
- LIVING ON THE FRONTLINE                               EDDY GRANT
- SATURDAY NIGHT IS ALLRIGHT FOR FIGHTING   ELTON JOHN
- SOLDIER OF LOVE                                             DONNY OSMOND
- I'M ON FIRE                                                     BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
- I'M IN THE ARMY NOW                                      STAUS QUO

I will never understand: the elections, baseball, American Football, The juridical system, Deathrow, where some people, guilty of a disgusting crime, sitting there more than 10 years
Police officers, using violence to arrest a man. (What happens, if violence is used by the police, and they are 100% not guilty, can or do they receive a compensation?)
But my US love will never change.

- Two blondes were going to Disneyland when they came to a fork in the road. The sign read: "Disneyland Left."
So they went home.

-Fifty-Dollar Bet

This guy who works at a pickle factory comes home and hands his wife 50 dollars. She asked him what it was from and he told her that he won it in a bet -- the guys at the factory bet him 50 dollars that he wouldn't stick his dick in the pickle slicer.
The wife was surprised and said she wanted to make sure he was still intact. He pulled down his pants and, indeed, it was all there, unharmed.
“But what about the pickle slicer,† asked the wife, perplexed. “Oh, she liked it too,† answered the husband.

No songs, just bands.
- BREAD   (very great band btw, great songs)
- ELECTRIC PRUNES (experimental psychedelic group in the late 1960s, and contributed two tracks to the soundtrack of Easy Rider)
- MEATLOAF
- RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.
- SMASHIN' PUMPKINS

I really don't know if there are a lot of bands.
There is a market for it: like THE RED LOBSTERS, THE CRABS, THE PIGS...
But I count on you guys, to find some more bands.
