Thankyou Roger.  I'm having a ball and hopefully getting a little better with each one.

Thanks topdown.  I wasn't as happy with the last two, but I'm leaving them up anyway.

I taped this the same day as the last one.  Still a little unsteady, but here it is.

I finally listened to the video.  Really good, I thought. That first time is always hard, but they pulled it off.  Great job, all of you.

With all that money you can buy a Martin.

I know I need work, but I love it.  It has been a while and I feel like I may have jumped back in too fast.  Yes, my guitar is starting to open up.  Sounds good.  I do check each song I do with a capo to see what suits my voice best.

In 1863, TNT or Trinitrotoluene was invented by German chemist Joseph Wilbrand. It is considered a high explosive. This was 4 years before Nobel patented it.  The big bang theory is a difficult one.  Space and matter were just there, I guess.  As to the tools and weapons, you give man long enough and he will come up with new inventions.  I really don't know the answers, as you can see.

OK, it's been awhile and I am on the down side of a cold, but here it is, mistakes and all.  I am still trying to get the mixer settings right.

Happy music year to everyone.

I'm not doing anything this year.  I will watch the baloon drop, New York time, which is 9:00 here.  Then off to bed, knowing I will wake up without a headache.

I agree with you, too, sat.  I started when I was 11 or so and only learned a few chords then gave it up for years.  I picked it up once in awhile and put it back in the closet for many years.  i did this several times in my life.  If I would have stuck with it, I would probably be very good by now. As it is., I waited til I retired 5 years ago to get half serious about it.  I am now learning at a fairly decent rate because I stuck with it this time.  I don't plan on putting it down this time.  It does help to have a lot of time on my hands now.  Do as Winston Churchill said.  never, never, never give up.

Set your new goals a little differently this year.  Tell yourself you have to learn so many songs before you buy another guitar.  I tend to live by this somewhat.  When I figure I have gotten so much better at playing, (no real measurement here) I start looking to step up a notch on my next guitar.  I earn it, so to speak.  In my own mind any way.

I think a six string would be the way to go. I could be talked into one, I think.  It just seems like it would be easier with a small learning curve.  I love the banjo sound.

The black appeal to me better also.

It's always good to know the melody and lyrics first.  When you can sing them, then add the chords and you are on your way.

When you are interested in something, a guitar in this case, you tend to see more guitars than if you aren't interested.  Your mind does funny things.  Same if I am all of a sudden interested in a certain car.  I tend to see that model on the roads every where I go. It's a subconscious thing.  Enjoy it.  But don't let it consume you.
