This is a song about a soldier receiving a fatal wound in combat and having to spend his last remaining hours at night, alone in a field with his fallen friends waiting to die.The time frame in my mind is the American Civil War.Whether it was yesterday, today or tomorrow, righteous or not...war sucks.
Strummed softly for verse and harder in the chorus.

Left Behindby Ken Peters

June 27/08

[Bm]Cold night, the stars are bright,

[D]Haunting shadows tease the light.

[Bm]Battles lost,a bullet found,

My [D]blood pools deep on the frozen ground.

[Bm]Here I lye, alone to weep,

My [D]destiny is set in stone to keep.

[Bm]So scared, so weak,

I'm dying [D]and there's no one here to comfort me.

And no one can [G]hear me,

As I [A]call.

So it is [Bm]here I die with no one at [G]a-ll.

To share my [D]fe-elings,

I'm left be[A]hind.

[Bm]A full moon defines the night,

[D]Satan's dancing with delight.

[Bm]Frozen tears and frozen hands,

As I [D]pray to my God on foreign land.

[Bm]Death has come now I have won,

The [D]right to wear the reapers mask and gown.

[Bm]So tired, must sleep.

It's [D]here I die it's here where I admit defeat.

And no one can [G]hear me.

As I call.[A]

So it is[Bm]here I die with no one at [G]all.

To share my [D]fe-elings,

I'm left be[A]hind.

Repeat verse with guitar solo

And Momma no one can [G]hear me.

Momma no one really [A]cares.

Momma it's [Bm]here I die with no one to [G]sha-re,

To share my [D]feelings.

I'm left be[A]hind.

Fade out with sad guitar solo on chorus

Good to see all these up and coming musicians joining the ranks.
If you are having a hard time finding someone to play with...don't sweat it cause music comes from the soul and finding someone to jam with can be difficult. When you get older you WILL find someone if you don't lose the passion.
Good for you ryuuzaki45249.Draw inspiration from losing someone close to you as music comes from the soul.
Cheers All

Sounds like a hoot wlbaye.Geography makes it impossible.Maybe you could post some pics or vids somewhere on the net.Lots of festivals happening in the summer.I would like to see our chordie mates post up whatever is happening from around the globe. It makes the world seem a little smaller.
Thanks KAP54

[D]Prince Edward Island calls to me, the [A]red sand has its way.

My [G]Aunts they'd always [A]make me laugh,most [D]days I miss their smile.

My [G]Uncles told me [A]stories of the [D]land and of the mile.

My [G]cousins have all [A]grown up,I ain't [D]seen them in a while.

But you [G]know someday there'll [A]come a way some [D]day.

[D]Right now this is [G]where I want to [F#]be.

[G]Smiling with my [A]rainbow family [D]tree.

[D]Now the blue sky that survives the storm is for the love ones lost.

[D]Angels took them by the hand no [A]soul will be forgot.

My [G]Mom and Daddy they [A]walk beside me but [D]I can't hold their hand.

[G]Freddy, Bobby and [A]Steven walk tall [D]in the promised land.

Uncle [G]Bernie and Uncle [A]Frederick know I [D]long to shake their hands.

And you [G]know someday there'll [A]come a time some [D]way.

You [G]know someday there'll [A]come a time [D]someday

So sorry to hear of your recent family illness...It must be tough on everyone.Do I send a Get Well card to the Fender family?
Pay no attention to all the guitar hospital horror stories as its mostly hype.(I seen that in a Micheal Moore movie)

Well Thank You very extra large kingsize but please... I'm not much into labels.A simple Thank You and maybe quoting a favorite line or how you can relate to the song would cool enough.
E-mailing is also cool.
Thanks Again KAP54 smile
