Everyone can contribute. Even some of the more professional players here can learn from people with little experience. If you have an idea or a different way of playing a chord or strumming let us know.

Well we know Neil Young has been around since the 60's and still kicking up the tunes. That was an easy one.

I liked your songs, but you would do much better with a mic. Don't take these suggestions to heart or feel bad, just take them as good constructive criticism. You are doing great. Good luck.

The need to apply a lot of pressure after building up the callouses becomes less of an issue. I imagine that it really doesn't matter whether you are male or female. Some people continue to use a lot of pressure, which is just not needed. To answer your question, I am betting a female can do anything a man can do, in this case.

Re: Strings (9 replies, posted in Acoustic)
My guitars were made for heavier strings and I tried mediums on them but there is something that I didn't like about them, so I changed back to medium lights and I really like them. It really had nothing to do with my fingers, I don't think.

Re: strum pattern question (5 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Besides learning the chords, strumming correctly is one of the hardest things for a new person to learn. It's hard for some of us old folks as well. Strumming does come naturally over time. You need to know the melody well and really listen to the bass (or the beat) of the song and then try to strum along with that. If you sing along with your playing, thats a plus.
