Well said one and all.Todays society seems to revolve around the me ,myself and I thing when it comes down to whats right and whats wrong.Zurfs story about the dad killed is just one of many you hear ,or read ,or see about in the many, many forms of media today.
My take is that children should have a class starting in grade 1 about what peer pressure is and how it affects others.Carry it on all the way through to grade 8.Teach them young and you will teach them well.
When a child learns about peer pressure amongst his peers it should have a bigger effect.Coming from Mom or Dad its to easy to scrub off.
Todays "Gangsta Noise" I believe is a direct result of kids growing up in a very angry and frustrating environment. It really does suck and I also hope it goes away soon as it can only encourage violence.
You can't blame them for what they are feeling and how they want to express it,but you can blame the society that taught them to feel this way.
Thats my take.I hope I didn't pee any one off.
PEACE

Funny Tune Zurf
I like the line"AS we pass middle age,It'll be me and their mother" How true...
We had a dog growing up.Norwegian Elk Hound Named Pushka. She didn't have any problems except for us kids. We used to lovingly tease her by throwing a piece of baloney up onto the ceiling
where it would stick and Pushka would sit there and wait for sometimes 10-15 minutes before it dropped. When Mom sold the house 10-15 years later,we all got a good chuckle because the rings from the baloney was still on the ceiling.Great Memory...Thanks and good tune

Just a second Phil, Let me check....Come in Rubber Ducky....Whats yer 10-20....Come back...Rubber Ducky...Come back.
Me thinks it is.
Have seen a lot on the news about the truckers striking. Now I'm not a big Union fan but they "do have their place and this is one of them".Man...Can the new boss screw things up any more.LOL
Between imperial and standard, the Euro and the Louney, the american gallon smaller, its no wonder nobody can fix this mess.It confuses the hell out of me.
Hope you had a good holiday KAP54
** Admin note for clarity and correction 10-4 means OK or correct it is 10-20 that is location....... Roger (ex CB nut, Quicksilver, and radio ham, G7GHD)

Lotsa good advice here Mike. Also good advice to try and not get frustrated cause sometimes it just plain old takes time.If your finding it hard to sing than transpose the chords to a key to fit your voice. You'll find the transposing area in any of the song books on the right hand side.Piece of cake.
Hope it Helps

jessica<3 wrote:[i don't think i saw any one tell you to just take your time]. it helped me alot that i started off singing with the guitar, but i had to go really slow the first few times... then i just kinda got the hang of it. i don't mean like so slow that you can't remember to strum right, but just don't start off at he same tempo as the original song does. ... don't worry it'll come to you...
(you probably already have it since you posted the question about 3 months ago... :] )
GOOD LUCK
Thank You to All.It sincerely touches me that my lyrics have brought out in you what I feel in me.
Old Doll. It sounds like your Dad was a great hoot and a loving man.I was glad to hear that your brother put his song on CD for you to enjoy.Cherish them as I know you will.
daddycool.Long illnesses can be tough on everybody.7 years is a long time and your right by saying it was a relief for all when he passed. You are a good son for sitting with your Mom every night. She sounds like she loved your Dad very much. So as did I, your family will hide your feelings knowing that soon she'll be where she should be,resting comfortably with your Dad.

Thanks daddycool...I see old man in my song saying"just because you have nothing,it doesn't mean you know nothing"

Wayne It is indeed...Happy Fathers Day to you sir.
KAP54
Thats my take on him too.Whats all the hoopla besides his wife and contract
Be Strong
Peace KAP54
Have you thought about putting your feelings down on paper?
Sorry about that Ken.In London Ontario there is so much hoopla about the matches going on I figured it must be the worlds."Footy" over here is turning into a huge sport.Toronto has a team that is doing OK.Don't know what they are called or league they play in but they play against David Beckham and the Galaxy.I don't see the cause for excitement with him but as I said I'm not a big "FootyFan"
KAP54
Thank You Wayne for your kind words.Very sorry about your father. It must be very hard for you and your family. My Dad pasted away from a brain anyoirism (go figure!!! I still can't spell it right.) while I was at the lunch table.I have lost several good friends from suicide and to this day I still kick myself cause I think I could have done more. The reality is that I could not have.Thats what makes it so tough.Don't be afraid to talk to your family even after all these years. It won't resolve anything but you will feel better inside.
Thanks Again

Good call Doc...Still sitting on the fence
This is a song I wrote in 1991 about how I cant seem to let my Dads passing in 1961 go.It took a huge toll on me then and still does today.
The verses are lightly picked.
The chorus is lightly strummed
The ending has two electric guitars screaming in harmony, repeating to a fade out. Enjoy.

I'm not a big fan of Soccer(football) but I do appreciate the talent it takes to play and the passion you get when you follow it.
I'm guessing there is some fans out there that want to plug their team.Go CANADA LOL-LOL-LOL
Well said Russell. If I knew how to put a quote in there I would've. REALLY...Walt Disney.Wonder where he got his inspiration LOL
Hey topdown...The US Open was fun to watch. Makes me wonder if Tiger made a pact with the devil.
Gotta agree with you topdown No question the sixties and seventies was all about the drug movement mixing with music. The music that came out of it would not be the same without it.Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young.I cant imagine life without their classics. Not condoning...joust observing.
Cheers Akk

Now back to the US Open
Its hard to say Zurf and Southpaw. If I'm a listener and taking Viagra I don't think its the drug that would kill me. LOL As an artist and smoking two or three packs a day, I would think its the nicotine that would get me.If I had to listen to religion 24/7 I'm guessing that would kill me and if I had to preach religion 24/7...well thats another story.
Such a confusing question...but a good one.
Cheers All

The more I think about it, the more I wonder how many really good musicians were lost due to drugs and alcohol before their time to shine.H-m-m-m I think I'm leaning to one side of the fence...but only leaning.
KAP54
Sitting on the fence here.Ya gotta admit, many a good tune came from a good high.
Ya gotta admit, many a good musician no longer fly.

Finally a response. Thanks arkady. You have to hear the whole Charlee Album. The man knows how to use the pedal and makes his guitar sing.Awhile back I found the bootleg album accidently and a friend of mine corresponds with him.So I let him know about it and now I have two autographed CD covers from him.Autographed in gold ink.I've got em framed and they are my pride and joy.
Canadian boy does well. Thanks Walter and Thank You arkady
